This is my 3rd day with 'no network available for voice calls'

This is my 3rd day with no phone service. No service since I changed from EE to Talk. I have spent close to 5 hours on web chat being advised to reinsert the sim, restart the phone, change settings, update software (which was up to date) to no avail. Then I was advised that there were delays with the porting process and to wait until midnight....3 days later 'no network available for voice calls' still. And why go through all those changes when it was a porting issue??? Now I have to send a utility bill and wait 2 to 3 days for a PAC code. So, beware of talk mobile you might be without a phone or text service for 6 days, could be longer given the advice regarding the service issue. I tried to register the account but the code took 12 hours to arrive and was, therefore, invalid.

'mobile network not available for voice calls' for 2 days now...

I changed to Talk from EE 2 days ago and I still have no phone service. I have spent almost 2 hours on the chat line with 2 different people(?) no resolution. the last one cut off the contact whilst I was was searching for a reset option as he required. There are many seemingly relevant reset options. Which to use? The sim does not support wifi calling, my phone does. I have received the same useless advice about the porting not being completed, wait it will be, that there are current issues, wait, remove sim, restart etc etc. No service, no help.

I reviewed the cling film in the orange…

I reviewed the cling film in the orange packaging... terrible. I have now started on a pack of cling film in the original green packaging. The film is good the serrated edge absolutely useless. It doesn't even snag the film so scissors are a necessity. Really? Pound Shop don't you test these things? There was nothing wrong with the pre COVID product and serrated edge. Trying to save money.... doesn't work

Apology, but still no working door. Further to my last review concerning…

Further to my last review concerning the provision and fitting of a door and two windows: after repairs to the windows, the front door failed 2 months ago. It was sticking badly, the top hinge is now shot and the door is now propped open. Verdi are finally dealing with it after several emails. Today I received a call from Verdi who wished to apologise and assure me that the door would be replaced ( no time scale) and the missing fascia strutt from the top floor window replaced. During the conversation I questioned why the measurements were not taken from the outside to ensure a correct fit of the windows; the reply was that:"no window supplier takes measurements from the outside on any floor above ground floor without scaffolding".....Clearly Verdi, (and perhaps all other window manufacturers?) are not prepared to erect scaffolding to take accurate measurements despite having taken a substantial deposit at the sales visit and despite having to erect scaffolding to carry out the work. So, don't expect your windows to fit correctly. They do supply filler strips if the frame does not meet the brick! Something else that should be noted is that the hinge systems are very specific and cannot be repaired or replaced easily, unlike a normal hinge screwed into a wood frame. We are reliant on Verdi for all repairs...they have not responded quickly,( 2 months) and the guarantee will expire at some point. Go/ stay traditional would be my advice.

Where to begin with Verdi home…

Where to begin with Verdi home "improvements"? Improvement it is not.
The selling process is reminiscent of the 1970's ripoff sales methods. They want a cheque on first meeting with a salesman before you have made your final choices or anything has been measured with any accuracy. So, beware, the price will change. The measuring was done from the inside of the property, this resulted in the new bay window not only, not fitting accurately, but Verdi fitters left a large hole in the wall. They came out, eventually, after two of us contacted them over a period of 3 weeks, and finally sending a photo which clearly shocked them into action. They filled the hole with?? No idea. They put in filler strips each side to make the frame meet the wall. There is still a draft around all of the frame.
That was the most serious issue. They also failed to add a fascia strip along the top of a second window, on the third floor, leaving a gap between the wall and the new frame where the removal of the old window had left an uneven opening. The new front door was not set straight in it's frame. This was not attended to at the time of the first complaint and is now extremely difficult to open and close. We have contacted Verdi 3 times regarding this issue and about a fascia strutt missing from the second window, ( apparently it has blown away) and finally received a message saying" the service manager has been passed you query and you will be contacted as soon as they are available". I'm sure they are very busy considering the standard of their work. BUT this is the home of an elderly man who has little mobility. Consequently there are nurses and care workers attending every day. They are struggling to open and close the door and it is easily left incompletely closed and therefore not secure.
VERDI? Never again.

Firstly, we want to clarify our policy on payments. We do not require cheques at the first meeting; payments are made at the customer's discretion. Regarding the measurements, our representatives take near-precise measurements during the initial design stage. They are not trained surveyors, but this initial measurement is sufficient for the design process. A detailed survey is conducted before manufacturing by our professionally trained fenestration surveyors who take millimeter-perfect measurements. This ensures the accuracy and quality of our products without affecting the price.

In response to your concerns about the measurements from the inside, it is sometimes necessary, especially for difficult-to-access areas such as the second-floor bay window you mentioned. Our intention is always to ensure the best fit and finish for our installations. We acknowledge there have been issues with your installation, including the draft around the frame and the filler strips. We sincerely apologize for these oversights.

Regarding the parts on order, including the bay pole cover, these were indeed installed initially as confirmed by our installation pictures. However, we understand there are still outstanding issues. Once all the parts have been delivered, we will promptly contact you to schedule a site visit and address any remaining problems.

We regret that the new front door and fascia strip issues have persisted. Your situation is of utmost importance to us, especially considering the needs of the elderly resident and the challenges faced by the care workers. Our service manager has been notified, and a new door leaf has been ordered with the other parts also.

Delays and lackadaisical attitude towards healthcare

Boots pharmacy received a prescription for an elderly man, in pain and needing another vital medication, on Friday. Today, Tuesday, it has not yet been ordered. One is not in stock, there is not a full prescription of the other vital medication.
The attitude is lackadaisical, as is usual with Boots staff. They took 15 minutes to " dispense" the meagre supply available. Then announced that I would have to return in 30 minutes as the pharmacist 'needs' to sign it off and is busy doing vaccinations. I am now standing in a line of 3 people waiting to collect. This must be repeated tomorrow when the remainder of the prescription will be ready ....or not.
Boots have an irresponsible attitude to their duty of providing the service of dispensing medication. They appear to be unaware of the damage their delays and errors cause. It's a question of time before they are brought to book legally.

Boots issue out of date…

Not only do Boots issue out of date medication but also display a staggering complacency when they cannot completely fill a prescription because they have no stock and cannot provide a date for replenishment. They do not, apparently, use all the available wholesalers in the country to source their stock. Given that they have almost a monopoly they are failing in their duty to provide the service they are so keen to control. This is an unacceptable state of affairs.

Should customers have to provide references Tkt maxx needs to consider changing…

Tkt maxx needs to consider changing it's retail model or asking for references before allowing entry to their stores. When going into the fitting room I am regularly asked if the handbag I'm carrying is mine and also if my reading glasses are my own. These items are peered at to detect if what? O maybe hiding a price tag and intending to steal?
When returning an item yesterday, the person at the checkout was new and needed help to process the return. She was directed to not only check the receipt and identify the make but to ' also be sure the label matches'. We are all assumed to be shoplifters or fraudulent.
Another very annoying issue is yay of checkout staff not removing security tags. This, of course, results in being stopped, having to empty bags and provide receipts and wait for all this to be verified and the tag removed looking like a shoplifter! Really, counter staff have little else to do, no packing or providing bags, is it too much to ask that they are vigilant in the removal of security tags? I think not.

Keep all empty packaging, just in case you have a stock query

I called aldi as they requested when my email showed' no content'. I was hoping to find out why certain food items were no longer on the shelf...had they been discontinued?
They can give no answer unless you provide the product codes!!!
I don't keep empty cartons and tins or any other packaging , just in case! In which case I was advised to 'look out in the store'. Which is what I have been doing to no avail, hence my attempts at contacting Aldi.
Off to Lidl.

Don't bother shopping at H+ M Fosse…

I was next in the queue at H M Fosse Park with two others waiting. There were two manned cash desks. The guy finished with one customer then proceeded to occupy himself with a few garments, peeling off tickets and fixing them on the garments. He neither looked up, said a word or apologised for keeping people waiting. I left. Pity such staff are too stupid to realise that customers are paying their wages...as long as the shop can stay in business...not long as far as my custom goes. I've never shopped there before and will not again. Bravo employee one less customer to trouble you...

The good reviews are written by people who haven't yet had to claim...

My car was written off whilst stationary, not my fault. I was knocked unconscious. It took 3 calls to get a response from L V. I was cut off, they didn't call back. Then I waited too long, in the police's view, for the breakdown truck. Then I was left on a flyover and told to go the railway station or get a bus with the contents of my car. I argued with the claims dept for 45 minutes to get a reasonable payout. They would not accept that a low mileage, always garaged, one (lady!) owner car with 4 new tyres 10 days old was worth more than the extraordinary little amount they first offered. Despite having legal expenses cover their solicitors failed to claim for contents which were damaged.
I told all of this to an L V representative when getting a quote several years later. She was looking into it and asked me to call back on the claims line. He would not put me through to her without a claims number! I explained and he said she'd gone for the day. I said I knew she was there til 6. He then said she was busy...

Sainsbury's wholemeal bread mix not good

I bought Sainsbury's wholemeal bread mix because I cannot find Wright's wholemeal bread mix in ANY supermarket. This mix is NOT made by Wright's and is not very good. It makes just about half a loaf partly because it sinks badly at one end. I use a machine and this does not happen when using Wright's bread mix.
Please stock the best make and the basic wholemeal...

Suspicious staff...absolutely

I returned goods a few days ago and noticed the refund was too great and told them. That was complicated to put right but all was resolved. However when returning goods today I was regarded with great suspicion regarding a wrong receipt. A customer making a mistake is treated like a criminal regardless of honesty. Not the first time. I should spend the thousands I spend in this store elsewhere...
