Happy. Will use this seller again.

Item arrived late and temu gave me £4 credit. Item was as expected, cadburys dairy mik chocolate bars. A reasonable price for the amount of bars. Not a huge saving on shop price when you add the £2 postage. Happy overall. Will use this seller again.

Excellent service from Brsk.

Excellent service from Brsk, as always. The lid on my ONT wall box was hanging off. Tried banging it with my fist but it would not engage with the wall box. The Brsk engineer came and with one sharp blow it was fixed. "You have to have the knack" he said. Great job. Did a signal strength test as well. Everythings working well.

Had Nissan cars for over 25 years.

Had to wait at the desk for a while even though I had an appointment. My car was in for Nissan recall work. Was offered a courtesy car but I would have to pay £30 a day. This is a fault found by Nissan, why should I have to pay to be without a car?

A terrible company

A terrible company. Whatever your problem, Argus take no responsibility for any fault you experience. Our car rental in Florida in Sept. 2024 ruined our family holiday. I have made numerous attempts to gain compensation, written many many emails, provide long statements as evidence to to nothing. Argus hide behind T&C's of their sub agents providing the vehicle. An awful experience, one we will never forget. And one that I will continue to hold Argus to account with continued poor reviews.

Not even a response now. Argus have given up. I will not.
Our holiday family ruined by Argus and Thrifty in the US. Awful companies who do not deserve our business.

Our holiday in was totally ruined and Argus don't care!!

Our holiday in Sept 2024 was totally ruined by Argus Car hire who rehired our car through Thrifty Car Hire in Florida. One one accepts any liability for this poor service. Argus blame Thrifty, Thrifty blame Argus. And each hides behind their T&C's. Terms and conditions continue to be quoted but no one can send me which T&C relates to poor service being acceptable. Both Argus and Thrifty have admitted to poor service in emails I have received, but do nothing about our £18,000 family holiday being ruined by a £1500 car hire.
Argus Car Hire is the ultimate low cost car hire website. We know about car hire. We were founded in 1959. Been online since 1996. Have partnerships with over 1,500 suppliers. And more than 30,000 locations worldwide. So we have more cars, more models, more choice. All with the lowest price or the difference back. Simple.

Say's it all...except low cost, poor service. Partnerships with 1,500 suppliers, but fail to mention that they do nothing when these partners fail. Cannot even talk to their partners investigate issues.
So do yourself a favour and avoid this company. Review score at 3.7 and falling.

What! Where is the information!

What!! Another stupid email from Argus this time from Nermeen.

I would recommend you read through the email resolution provided which would explain the reason for this outcome. If you are still unhappy, you may reopen the case and provide further supporting documents to support your claim, otherwise we will be unable to move forward with the complaint.

No mention of the VIP dept looking into my complaint...it's now "Post Rental Experts" another fictious dept of Argus!
The email recommends looking at there investigation provided... Not provided. Where is it?
When will they learn. I'm not going away until this is settled. Argus rating now 3.7 was 3.8.
The information I've already provided is enough. How bad do you need the complaint to be? The service was poor. the car was bad, the breakdown was poorly handled, it took 23 hrs to get a replacement car, it spoilt 2 days of our 14 day holiday, we missed going to one of the theme parks, it cost my money on my phone to keep calling in the breakdown com., it cost my money to get a taxi to get my family back to our villa at one in the morning after waiting 5 hrs. Just how bad has a complaint got to be?
Of course Argus are very sorry and take my complaint very seriously, but none of the above was their fault...who took my money! ARGUS CAR HIRE that's who! £1500 that's all.

Another non-descript email from Argus

Another non-descript email from Argus. Again none of my questions answered. They keep quoting that my complaint is within their T&C's without actually telling you what T&C's my complaint has failed to meet. Just seems like fobbing me off, yet again. Keep getting one star reviews. They obviously don't care what service their customers get... as long as they get their money.
I am sorry we cannot provide the solution you were hoping for on this occasion. I can assure you that it was reached in line with the Terms and Conditions of your rental agreement, and I trust that you can understand our position on this matter.

We do treat this kind of feedback very seriously,

Latest email from Argus Car Hire. Still no real explanation of their T&C's and why they are relevant to my complaint. As you can see they take feedback very seriously... but they don't do anything about it, so it doesn't seem very serious to me.
Just thought I'd share some of the comments from customers on Thrifty Car Hire. As you all know they are Argus Car Hire trusted partner in Florida.

Feb 2025 One Star.
This company is all about getting more money from you. Charged for extra insurance that I verbally declined, told I needed toll package, cost $87 to get to my final destination. Never again, I will give my business to another rental company

They were insistent in trying to get additional insurance and in an almost threatening tone if it was not taken.

Awful! consistent with previous reviews on customer service , long wait in lines. upsell on everything. Then they didn't have a car at my terminal, so they asked us to carry all our luggage across the airport to another terminal to pick up car. Had car for 2 days, the first day the battery died (ok things happen), but they told me I had to sit tight and be at the car, but they would be less than 60 minutes to respond. 3.5 hours later a 3rd party finally showed up. Thriftys "emergency service dept." , yes emergency service is a joke, could care less after multiple calls they just kept telling me it was out of their hands, they sub out the service. The service is AAA, who then subs out to independent contractors. Was in Orlando for a short weekend and spent my entire Saturday night sitting in a vacant lot arguing with Thrifty employees with zero control. After asking for Manager, they just threatened to cancel the current request and restart the clock if that what I wanted to do , otherwise wait. The responder I guess was so used to angry customers, when he finally left his house hours after dispatch to come to us, he sent a text warning us to keep quiet or we wouldn't get a jump start.

The above is so similar to my complaint. It could have been written by me!!

So Argus... What are you doing about complaints. It's simple NOTHING!!!

Argus do treat this kind of complaint seriously...REALLY!!

We (Argus) do treat this kind of feedback very seriously, as we expect all our car rental partners to offer vehicles in good condition.

Another customer service rep who didn't bother to read the complaint or find the true facts.

Argus keep pointing me to their agents in the USA "Thrifty car Hire" who, unknown to them (Argus) have already admitted poor service, given me an insurance refund and offered me a reduced rate for any car hire in the USA for the next 12 months. I'm not going to the USA in the next 12 months so the car car refund is useless and the insurance refund was what I paid at their desk in Orlando. So got nothing for the ruined 2 days of our holiday. They (Thrifty) seem to think that's an Argus car hire problem?

My argument is with Argus Car Hire who have not taken any responsibility and hidden behind their T&C's when they should be listening to their customers. Their Customer service is awful. Passing the buck at every opportunity. Not one of them has any idea what good customer service is.
As usual stay clear of this company if you need any support in a crisis. Want you holiday ruined...hire a car through Argus Car Hire. The people who don't believe their customers even when their car hire partners Thrifty admit to poor service and they can't talk to them directly about a complaint. How do they do business with partners they can't talk too. Beats me!!!!

Omar what has happened to you. My faith in you is misplaced!!

Another poor response from Argus.
When will they learn. This time Ibrahim says they do have a VIP Dept and they will respond in due course. I won't hold my breath for any response that is different to there previous ones. No one has even bothered to read my original complaint. Awful, do Argus have a list of responses I on;y ever get one response "Nothing to do with us" forget about customer experience just get the T&C;s to see they do nothing when things go wrong. As Ibrahim says "I know its frustrating..." You bet. Especially when you already admitted you are at fault for poor service. Check your responses to see I'm right.
Stay clear of this company.

So the your "Terms and conditions" allow for poor service. For which you have already admitted and apologised. I'd like to see the T&Cs that say we can provide the customer with poor service upon payment of the car rental fee.
Another customer service rep Nour, this time. Just how many people does it take to provide poor service. Still not heard anything from their VIP customer service. Does it really exist?
As always take my advice leave this company alone. If you have problems they just don't care.

Awful Company. Latest on Argus Car Hire.
Thanks Ibrahim for your email. At last some questions answered. Obviously you are not going to do anything about our spoilt holiday thanks to Argus car hire. I shall continue to leave very poor reviews of your company until someone actually reads my original complaint...which has nothing to do with the Thrifty service desk at Orlando airport!! Again Argus take the money with no responsibility taken for the service provided. Don't spoil your holiday, avoid this company at all costs. 68% 5 star reviews..falling rapidly.

The latest email from Argus Car Hire. Just to show you what dealing with these people is like...read on!
In my last email I asked 4 questions.
1. What is happening to my complaint which the Argus
customer service rep. said had been forwarded to their VIP Dept? Asked if this dept actually exists? No answer. Question ignored.
2. What had happened to all the Argus people who had previously responded to my emails and admitted that there service was poor.
3. If Argus service was poor, as admitted by them. Why can't they do something about it?
4. Argus don't take any responsibility for anything they do...but they do take your money. Not great service is it?

I have checked your booking by myself and I can answer your questions.
1- We can confirm that the VIP department exists and the department checked your complaint which advised that this issue could be only checked with the car rental provider directly, we managed to flag your comments on their service to not be repeated.
2- If we had any issues our customers flagged we were able to check this with the car rental provider to avoid any issue like that again.
3- We are doing our best to provide the best service the customer could ask for but unfortunately, we are not physically present during the check-out and check-in for the car rental we can't check this with the supplier directly.
4- We are trying to check with all our partners to provide the service they asked for.
I'm very sorry that we're unable to offer you the solution and outcome you'd hoped for here. I apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Honest, Helpful and constructive

Trustpilot help says "Remember to be honest, helpful and constructive"
It's a petty that Argus car hire don't play be the same rules. They have been honest "Very sorry about our poor service" Helpful "there's nothing we can do about it" Constructive Well I've had ten different replies from ten different people each you apologising for their poor service "its not the service we would usually provide" One of the emails even said they were sending my complaint to their VIP Dept. Never heard back from them and don't expect to either. Do they really exist, I doubt it.
Our original complaint was the awful experience of hiring a vehicle through Argus with Thrifty hire in the US. for our dream holiday in Florida which because of Argus turned into a nightmare. Argus have admitted several times that there poor service was poor. But since they took our money have passed on the buck to Thrifty US.
Don't do business with them save yourself the hassel and go to a good car hire company. I thought Argus fell into that category which is why I chose them. Now regretting it, big time.
However bad our original complaint was Argus customer service is beyond words. Poor doesn't do them justice. Don't bother to complaint, because we ain't doing nothing... is there watchword.
I hope the above is honest (which it is) helpful and constructive.

My ongoing saga of our ruined holiday…

My ongoing saga of our ruined holiday in Orlando, Florida because of our rental car from Argus / Thrifty. Received another apologetic email from Argus. The car from Thrifty was not fit for purpose, not my words but the words of the engineer from AAA breakdown that was sent out to help us. Argus admit that this is not the standard they expect from their hire companies, but unfortunately that cannot do anything about this. Very Strange!!!
Now I know reading some reviews that say "great service" and "helpful people" but these are generally people who have not experienced any problem with their hired. Good for them. However, I judge a company by what they do when things go wrong for whatever reason. Argus simply wash there hands of any complaint. Read the reviews of people who have complained. I haven't read one where Argus have compensated anyone. They simply say "it's all your fault, read the small print, get over it" It's not great customer service is it?. Take my advice. Don't take the chance. Great if everything goes well, but if it doesn't what support are you going to get?
Don't use this company. Your holiday experience is worth more.
