My experience with LiveAboard was extremely disappointing and frustrating.
From the very beginning, there was a lack of clarity and transparency. We specifically asked whether the diving equipment was included in the package, and we were clearly told that it was. Now, after the booking has been finalized, they claim that the person who responded made a “human error” and that the equipment is not included after all. This is unacceptable. We are talking about a diving trip — equipment is not a minor detail.
According to the program they sent us, the first day was supposed to be for trying the equipment and doing a check dive. Instead, we spent the entire day, from 9:00 a.m. until around 7:00 a.m. the following morning, stuck in the port of Malé doing absolutely nothing. No check dive, no equipment fitting, nothing at all. On top of that, the noise from construction and boats was unbearable. It was a terrible start to what was supposed to be a dream trip.
Customer support is also extremely poor. They are responsive and attentive right up until the booking is completed. Once the payment is made, they disappear. During the cruise and after the trip, the assistance is practically nonexistent. We felt completely unsupported.
Overall, this was a very disappointing experience: unclear information, contradictory statements, a program that was not respected, and miserable customer service. I would not recommend booking through this platform.
