Awful customer service
I ordered a Cubo 4 Rattan Garden Dining Set with Footstools & Parasol (£522) from Moda Furnishings in June 2025. The table arrived faulty, with multiple misaligned screw holes that make it impossible to assemble securely and therefore unsafe to use.
I reported the issue immediately, provided clear photographic evidence, and have since spent months chasing a resolution. Instead of honouring their obligations under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, Moda has repeatedly offered only £30–£40 “goodwill” or a 50% credit note — completely inadequate for unusable goods costing over £500.
To make matters worse, their customer service has been dismissive and careless throughout. On three separate occasions, despite me signing my emails clearly with my real name, they addressed me as “Richard”. Even after I corrected them, they continued to get my name wrong. This demonstrates an appalling lack of professionalism and respect for their customers.
I have given Moda every opportunity to resolve this fairly, including offering to accept either a 50% refund while retaining the set or a full refund with collection. They have ignored reasonable requests, dragged their feet for months, and failed to provide a lawful remedy. This matter still remains unresolved.
In short:
• Faulty, unsafe furniture delivered.
• Customer service repeatedly got my name wrong (calling me “Richard” three times).
• Only token offers of £30–£40 for a £522 order.
• Months of wasted time and stress with no resolution.
I am now escalating the matter through Trading Standards and my payment provider. I strongly advise avoiding Moda Furnishings altogether — their products are unreliable and their customer service is among the worst I have ever experienced.
Update: they have agreed to collect and refund me but want me to supply boxes and packaging materials. Because I didn’t pay nearly an extra £100 for the unpacking and building service they offer!!!
And just to add, they also have now called me Jacqueline!!!
