Awful customer service

I ordered a Cubo 4 Rattan Garden Dining Set with Footstools & Parasol (£522) from Moda Furnishings in June 2025. The table arrived faulty, with multiple misaligned screw holes that make it impossible to assemble securely and therefore unsafe to use.

I reported the issue immediately, provided clear photographic evidence, and have since spent months chasing a resolution. Instead of honouring their obligations under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, Moda has repeatedly offered only £30–£40 “goodwill” or a 50% credit note — completely inadequate for unusable goods costing over £500.

To make matters worse, their customer service has been dismissive and careless throughout. On three separate occasions, despite me signing my emails clearly with my real name, they addressed me as “Richard”. Even after I corrected them, they continued to get my name wrong. This demonstrates an appalling lack of professionalism and respect for their customers.

I have given Moda every opportunity to resolve this fairly, including offering to accept either a 50% refund while retaining the set or a full refund with collection. They have ignored reasonable requests, dragged their feet for months, and failed to provide a lawful remedy. This matter still remains unresolved.

In short:
• Faulty, unsafe furniture delivered.
• Customer service repeatedly got my name wrong (calling me “Richard” three times).
• Only token offers of £30–£40 for a £522 order.
• Months of wasted time and stress with no resolution.

I am now escalating the matter through Trading Standards and my payment provider. I strongly advise avoiding Moda Furnishings altogether — their products are unreliable and their customer service is among the worst I have ever experienced.

Update: they have agreed to collect and refund me but want me to supply boxes and packaging materials. Because I didn’t pay nearly an extra £100 for the unpacking and building service they offer!!!

And just to add, they also have now called me Jacqueline!!!

No delivery no response no nothing

Was worried about bad reviews but hoped for best when I ordered a large gold clock on the 31st July.

Didn't receive anything ..phoned Moda several times just rang and rang rang.Left a voicemail.Sent emails again nothing.
Fortunately Klarna has paused payment but its now mid September..shocking service.
So disappointed.
So yeah, am now trying to prove to Klarna all this and get due payment stopped.
Very off putting ..
Update ..am very pleased to say Moda have contacted me and resolved the issue.
Is best to leave a review then things can get sorted.

DO NOY BUY FROM THIS COMPANY

I done my research on this company before I purchased my furniture so thought I was buying from a reputable company also with a 7 year guarantee, how wrong was I. purchased in 2021 and the rattan has now all split on the top of one of the chairs. We were told on purchasing that the furniture could be left outside in the winter but we never did but always stored it in the garage. Rang customer service to be told they did not stock this particular range anymore and as they had been taken over on 15th July 2023 and as it is a new ownership the warranty does not now apply. Told me to take it up with my credit card company, has anyone else tried this approach? All I can say is read the reviews and do not buy from this company.

Very slow customer service

I bought a lamp from Moda as a wedding present for a friend off her registry, with the billing address as mine and the delivery address as hers. However, the parcels were delivered to me.

I filled in the form on the website and got an email to say they would reply within 24 Hours. 2 days later they replied saying they were looking into it, 4 days later I chased them up and they said they would arrange collection and let me know 'shortly'.

Almost a month later, and after chasing every couple of days for more info, I gave up (as the wedding was now a week away) and made arrangements to get the present to my friend myself (who lives almost 2 hours away). I emailed them to tell them not to worry anymore, since they clearly weren't going to do anything about anyway.

They replied saying the courier was coming the next day, and whilst I was replying to once again say I don't require collection, they called me to arrange collection. Thankfully, the message about not needing collection seemed to get through and no one turned up wanting to collect my parcels.

Unsurprisingly, I do not ever plan to shop here again. I am absolutely shocked that such bad customer service is deemed acceptable in this day and age, and about a problem that was entirely their fault.

UPDATE - 08/09
I have since been contacted by moda to resolve this issue. They offered to pay the courier fees that I incurred, and have wholeheartedly apologised. It sounds like this is a new customer service team that will get better with experience and time.

Fantastic service

Fantastic service. I read all the reviews and was a bit sceptical if this was going to be a mistake but no I received a call a few days after ordering to advise delivery day. A call the day before to advise times. I was constantly updated by text message. The service was outstanding. The driver Gurpreet was also so patient in finding me and delivering the item to where i wanted it as it was big and heavy so thank you to Gurpreet too. I haven't opened or tested the product yet but seems well packaged so am hopeful all ok there too. Thank you Moda in proving reviews are not always correct and I am glad I trusted my gut and went with it.

AVOID this company at all costs

I wish I had read the trust pilot reviews before I was tempted into buying some garden furniture from this useless organisation.
I was promised delivery in 3-5 working days. Received a delivery after 10 days, and guess what, half the order was missing.
Then went into the” black hole” that is their after sales support service, spent nights and nights trying to communicate with a faceless organisation.
Once I finally started to get some form of response, via email ( it seems company policy that they will not just call you to discuss your issue), they refused to refund me for a 3-piece garden suite that they sold me and promptly took the money for but did not / could not deliver to me (because it was not available, out of stock). I then had a long protracted email exchange whereby I then had to effectively prove to them that they had not in fact delivered the missing 3-piece garden suite. They had delivered a little coffee table that was apparently part of the set, but it was damaged, and they refused to refund me for he missing suite until the damaged coffee table was collected and back in their warehouse.
Their delivery team were rude, their delivery van was leaking oil and left a trail of dirty oil all down my driveway (which I could not see at the time as they turned up after 10 PM and it was dark, despite being promised a delivery window between 4 and 8 pm).
Communications with this outfit is nearly impossible, they are disjointed, chaotic, do not take on board your concerns, and have no interest in providing a good customer experience.
I did eventually get a refund for said missing items, 1 month after the initial purchase, but only after an enormous amount of energy having to be wasted on my part.
This has probably been the worst customer experience I have EVER had from ANY organisation.
AVOID, AVOID, AVOID.

Avoid this company

Avoid this company. I ordered a water feature which was advertised as in stock, 3-5 working days delivery. After god knows how many chasing emails, which go unanswered, and attempts to telephone, which go straight to a recorded message, I had an email advising of delivery. Hurray! However, I only received a plastic bowl for the water feature but no water feature... I am thoroughly sick of their dreadful service and have requested a refund. As this is not forthcoming I will contact my bank to start the recovery process. The other reviews on this site say it all. Order 1000101779

I don't recommend

Update: about 2h after posting this review, Moda called me and arranged delivery for the next day. Not sure why they have to call to arrange delivery for one parcel? It's not the 90's.
Anyway, it arrived the next day and the item was all scuffed and the allen key bolts had been rounded. It was clearly a returned item. I struggled for ages to undo the screws, turned out the screws were imperial sizes (no tool was included), probably the reason the last person rounded it off. After disassembly it, I managed to adjust the holes to fit my parasol. Annoyingly I then had to find 4 bolts and washers to mount the parasol to the base, because nothing was included. It took about 3h in total to install the parasol base. Something that should have taken 10 minutes max!

Original review:
I ordered a parasol base from Moda. It says 3-5. Working days for delivery. After 5 working days of no product or even a dispatch email, I contacted the support and filed a ticket. Nearly a week later they haven't responded to the ticket and still no parasol base delivered. Looks like the warnings are correct, it is a scam company. I will have to go through the credit card company to claim the money back.

Mixed experience

We ordered prior to their administration and takeover, bear that in mind. We were somewhat happy with the furniture, there was a quality issue with the door of the firepit table and they sent a free replacement. They also replaced one of the chairs which had a scuff when taken out of the box.

My biggest issue is now a few years later, one of the cushions has torn and they're flat out refusing to sell me an individual cushion cover. That's mad right? Their solution "get a local seamstress to make you one".

Absolutely mad and really poor service. This isn't a "can't" this is a "won't".

Nightmare experience that continues

Nightmare experience that continues. I hadn’t realised this company was taken over in July 23. Moda was always deemed to be the Brand to have for high quality and customer service but not anymore. Avoid at all costs. I ordered a 3 seater sofa and matching 6 seater dining table. I went to Manchester to view the quality (5 hour drive round trip), Everything was delivered except the table. Apparently not in stock, so swapped it (reluctantly for a 4 seater table and £165 credit and they pick up two chairs. All arranged but then two days before delivery I get the phone call to say the 4 seater wasn’t in stock. I said please pick up the 6 chairs as these aren’t any good without the table. Infact I’d return all of it but had to store the sofa in the garage true to no storage space. Surprise they didn’t turn up at the allocated slot. I waited in 7 hours on a bank holiday. No update, no contact. I’ll chase again tomorrow and have disputed with my payment card. Avoid
Update 2nd Sept
Got a text to say they were delivering next day which was 4 days later than agreed and I wasn’t available that day and at such short notice. When I called Moda they said they only picked up in my area on Wednesdays which was different to the conversation 2/3 weeks before which was Wednesdays and Saturdays. To draw a conclusion to this painful experience I said I’d keep the 6 dining chairs and with a £150 credit I’d source my own table next year. I now have the £150 credit and a partial set (no table). Not happy but felt this was the only solution

Disastrous

Following the disastrous experience of having a coffee table delivered at 6am and then being notified the following day that the garden set was no longer available, an update. No communication whatsoever from Georgina, who posted on here in reply to my first review. Endless emails to try and return the table, culminating in 16 emails on a single day 20.08.25, eventually confirming collection 21.08.25 between 10am/2pm. The table was collected 22.08.25 - at 8am. I am now waiting on the refund - and have had no proactive communication or a timescale for this whatsoever. There are individuals working for this company who do try and help, but they are sinking in catastrophically incompetent processes and systems, so their efforts are largely lost. It must be soul destroying and such a waste of their time and talents. Avoid. And beware, Cox&Cox and Beds are all part of the same group.

Worth the wait

My previous review stated that this company was a scam as I hadn’t received my order or had any correspondence.
After writing my review, they were quick to get in touch and arrange delivery of my order.
I have now received it and the quality is very good.
It’s a shame that the order didn’t arrive on time during the sunny weather period, but I’m pleased it is now here and that I hadn’t been scammed.

Outstanding Customer Service

A good test of any company is how they deal with something that goes wrong even when the matter is beyond their control. Moda gave the best customer service I’ve experienced in a very long time. Quality of the garden furniture was exceptional too. Happy to recommend.

Exceptional customer service

I've honestly received exceptional customer service every time I've had dealings with the company. No problem has been to big to solve and the quality of the furniture is second to none.

I got a great price for a great product, delivered when they said it would be.

I had one small issue that they rectified within a few days and they went way over and above fixing the issue. After a couple of emails I got a call from them and the issue was resolved way above my expectations.

I will be back purchasing more products next season.

Poor quality garden furniture and not a real guarantee

Poor quality garden furniture which is literally falling apart after 6 years and, seemingly due to going into administration and then re-starting with virtually the same name (??!), we are unable to make a claim on the supposed 7 year guarantee. My recommendation is to try someone with better quality and some kind of reliable warranty ! Avoid this lot

AVOID

The drivers left us to unpack the garden furniture which had a section of a chair leg missing. I raised the issue immediately with Moda Furnishings. Numerous emails, phone calls (then phone calls just said 'Please email as this line is not in use!) and finally I raised a dispute with my bank. THEN they wanted to help resolve the problem. Horrific company, never buy from them.

Second review of Moda

Second review of Moda, they finally got in touch and delivered half the order. They said our sun loungers won’t be delivered as they are out of stock. As an alternative they offered 5% discount however they don’t have any other sun loungers. I’m now £300+ out of pocket and they won’t respond to my request for a refund…

Repeat Customer

I’ve bought from Moda before and always loved the quality, so I wanted to add to my set. I’ll be honest—I was a bit worried after reading some of the reviews about customer service, but I decided to visit the showroom to see for myself.

I was looked after by Nia, and she was amazing! My order wasn’t a straightforward one, but she took care of everything for me—placed the order, kept me updated, and made sure it all went smoothly right up until delivery. The whole process was simple and stress-free, and I got my order in just two weeks with clear updates at every stage.

Big thanks to Nia for making it such a great experience. Moda has definitely earned 5 stars from me.

Terrible customer service

I purchased a set of garden furniture. The delivery was eventful, apparently the driver was new. They dropped the furniture from the van. They caused damage to our drive and we are still chasing a response to resolve since July. You cannot call as they have stopped incoming calls and don’t respond to emails.

There were missing accessories, missing parts.

Advised to continue to make contact and I’m now doing this daily however, still no response.

Poor company to deal with.

I had contact through TP 5 days ago and provided my details however, as yet no response?

Moda have still not responded to the information provided since requesting this through TP.
I have been in contact several times and the management team refuse to accept having used a third party company to deliver the furniture that they are responsible. They advise this lies with Cox and Cox who they use to deliver the furniture however, Cox and Cox refer you back to Moda.
I have purchased several times from Cox and Cox however, now that I’m aware both company’s are linked I won’t purchase again.
The customer service is appalling, steer clear of both Moda Furnishing and Cox and Cox.
