The worst don't rent from them
The worst don't rent from them, they overcharge on auto pay, and less then 0 customer support if that's possible. I didn't even rent from them originally, they bought out the facility during a personal medical issue that put me out of state. Unfortunately I have called, emailed, and even let their automated phone system put me in their call back que. Guess what happened? 30 minute hold time with repetitive voice message playing every 10 seconds, no response via email, no call back, oh ya and their chat is a bot that won't get you too a live agent! Might be a scam organization laundering money who knows, doesn't seem to care about customers.

I thought I was paying for a secure unit with 24 hour access and monitoring by security cameras, which is a complete lie. Both of my units were not only robbed but they were emptied. I lost over $60,000 in merchandise. When the police officers did their investigation, there were no cameras working for months so they were not able to obtain everything. This is a robber’s dream paradise. If you want to clean out units and be a thief with no repercussions federal 10 is where you wanna go. They don’t care they will not offer to help you. They will still continue to bill you. They do not care that you lost everything. This is the most unprofessional and horrible lying company I’ve ever dealt with in my life. If you want your stuff, do not store it here.
How I miss the previous owners
How I miss the previous owners. This company is out to get you. They raised the rent without notice. They charged me a late fee even though they have access to my credit card and they just charged me extra this month and no idea why!! They leave the gate completely open and vulnerable to theft. There’s absolutely no way to get a hold of a human being. It’s all digital, obviously for their convenience. Storage made easy is what they claim. I guess it is - just for them. I’d completely stay away.
Setup for failure by thieves!
I'm only giving one star bc in order to leave review you have to give at least 1 star otherwise they would get any stars from me! I moved to a new storage facility to get away from 10 federal and they're shady practices, only to have them buy my new facility two weeks later. Without notice they raised my rent from $149 to $195. So now I'm behind one month but unable to pay it bc they are pre billing me for the next month and am expected to pay $588 before I can access my unit! WTF! I've been wearing the same 2 pars of clothing for 2 Weeks! I'm unable to access my work equipment. I feel like I've been setup for failure bc after 6 weeks there's a lien on my unit! 0ver $10k in my unit and they know it! Thieves
Scam
Scam - everything started great. Then they ended up going up on the bill after one month of late charges. Then they outsource their work to another company so they don't have to deal with complaints. I am here with a $98 bill for a storage that costs $65/mo. Make it make sense. There is not a company that isn't scamming people out of their money daily, this is just another clown show. This will most likely be my last month using this storage for sure. You're not going to get good repeatable business handling things this way. It's short term money and it's low integrity. The guy you guys outsource your calls can't even explain the scam you guys are running correctly. How am I sitting with a late charge on the first day the bill is due. He didn't know himself. trash service.
EXPLOITATIVE - GREEDY - DECEITFUL
This company bought out my locally owned storage facility several years ago and immediately began raising prices (now double what I paid before) and made paying my bill difficult. The online payment system is terrible. If you are late paying your bill you must pay the late month as well as the next month (no other option) despite being delinquent only on the previous month.
They also started charging for insurance without my consent. Now they're charging some kind of "smart tech" fee with no explanation.
Look at other Trustpilot reviews. I'm not the only one.
I never signed a contract with this new company. If I had the time I would consider legal action against them just to see if I would be eligible for relief.
But... I keep paying them like a chump because I'm not in a position to find a new place at the moment.
So this is my honest opinion:
It seems like what they really want is to default you as fast as possible and hold your property hostage, only briefly, as they quickly move to take possession.
I would recommend looking elsewhere for fairly priced storage space. This company and their business practices are greedy and exploitative.

Worst place ever for customer service
I have only been there 2.5 weeks and have had problems. First the unit I got, the door that slides up was damaged and wouldn't close because of bent metal. Then it took over a week for someone to fix it and they put a second lock thing on unit so I couldn't get in. After a half hour on the phone they finally said I could break that lock to get in. They offered nothing for the problems I've had and actually reprimanded me for my language. Well PHUK YOU GUYS, I'm out of there as soon as I can afford to pay movers again!

SCAM ARTISTS
David Jones Parkway, Springfield, Illinois. SCAM ARTISTS. I agreed a price over the phone ($35) and then they charge you $180+ and hold your stuff hostage until you pay the absurd fee. They trick you as you don't have a written agreement. My agreement was over the phone and now ceases to exist. GREAT SCAM TAC I am a college student and just been scammed a lot of money. I will NEVER go back here after this experience. Even after you leave, they continue to bill you for months. They will then report you to credit agencies if you don't pay. Daylight robbery. STAY AWAY!
Thankfully, once the next monthly fee came, a employee, Alex, helped me out with good customer service and let me know that I had to no longer pay the extra fee.
Lots of break ins
Lots of break ins and peoples units getting robbed. The comapny starts off with great prices and everything seems good from the beginning but i would definitely stay away.
RUN in the opposite direction tenants & employees
Anyone who has Google reviews turned off is highly suspicious. They are not good people or a good company to work for. I don’t know about the storage side I just see that portion is as bad as their housing. For me there is huge room for improvement but with all the alpha men & women they are not open to suggestion. I tried to implement new easier more modern ways while I worked there and the Regional just has too much of a God complex to listen & would rather work harder not smarter so I was very happy to leave there. They terminated me after a suicide attempt followed by I kept getting sick (likely bc those apartments honestly should’ve been condemned bc I got a little better moving out of there) so I’d have to work from home sometimes & my residents knew this. They loved me and many broke leases to follow me to the next apartment complex I worked for which was great. I never asked reasoning because this is a company who allowed the regional, Tammy, to make this choice even though I checked the box for having a disability, complained about the condition of my apartment, and I did a good job—everyone called me after I left so the only reason is discrimination. I didn’t miss deadlines & I was far more intelligent with reports than my superiors. It just was not a good partnership and if you’re a PM who likes to learn, you won’t learn anything here… this company shouldn’t run apartments—they lack the skill set.

Absolutely never recommend anyone rent here they made it were I lost everything belonging to me my Children and last memories we had of my Grandparents. My dogs ashes were in there as well as everything from the home we lost right after there deaths. All because they wouldn’t answer there phones kept jacking up the prices so high hardly making anything affordable to begin with.

Jacked up my rates a handful to times since I started renting 3 years ago. Tried to call them to change my debit card information - NO HUMANS....
Called back again and pressed 2 to wait to talk to someone - waited over 30 minutes before I hung up.
Tried again today, only to find they have added a late charge to my rent. Attempted to get a person at 2 different numbers they have listed -- NO HUMANS!!!!
They want everything done thru their portal.
This place is a scam
This place is a scam. I have been a renter for over 2 years. Their posted standard rates for a 10x30 is $150 per month. They are billing me $221 per month. I have been trying to get this resolved for over 6 months. I have email correspondence from them admitting to their overbilling and that they will correct it but they never do. One day I spent over 4 hours on the phone trying to talk to some to resolve the issue. All they do is say that they are transferring me to someone in management. Absolutely fraudulent on their part. I have already reached out to the Attorney Generals office and forwarded all of my correspondence. They are opening an investigation. With all of the miss billing it looks like a class action law suit in the making. There’s definitely no lack of hungry attorneys around.

UPDATE: DO NOT RENT FROM THEM
They are back at it again. This company is horrible. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM. Since I have been with 10 Federal they have raised the rent 6 times in 3 years. They raised the rent again in April of 2024 and they just sent another increase yesterday. Ive gone from $96 per unit per month from when I started to now they want $177 per unit. The kicker is that they have the same units I have (10x20) listed for $133 per month on 2 different websites. So rather than lowering the rent for customers who have paid their rent on time for 3 years you want to raise the rent but give new customers a lower rent. Then they also do some so called TECH UPGRADES that I would never use (Read below) but charge me $3.99 additional monthly fee for these so called BS upgrades. I didn't move before when they increased the rent because it was inconvenient but I'm out of here before the end of the month.
Please read this BS, its a storage unit that you go to maybe 3 - 4 times a year, why would I need any of this

Worst company to deal with. I have 2 units with 10 Federal Self Storage who took over from StorageBliss. When they took over they raised rent $20 per unit back in Sept 2021. They are trying to raise the rent again 4 months later another $20 per unit saying they have a raise in operational costs. This facility is unmanned so what operational costs are there. You pay someone to clean the place? We are in the middle of a pandemic, people are not working and they are trying to price gouge their existing customers. Stay far away form this place, at this rate your rent will be doubled in no time.

If I could give a -5 stars I would!! Horrible customer service, they LIE, they're rude (when you can get a human). This company just took over (without notice) the storage facility I've used for years. I've never had an issue, but now... HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! They took over, did not contact us ahead of time and instructed the former owners to NOT contacts us!! I am currently in contact with local county officials as this company has forced it's way into our community, pushing the small business owners out. I do NOT recommend 10 Federal Storage!! I will also be reaching out to the BBB about this issue.
Worse experience
I have had three units in johnson city on Princeton road for almost three years when I went to get my furniture out of the largest unit my large sofa was damaged from water coming into the unit from the outside door . I had a king Mattress and box spring destroyed plus a queen box spring. I have pain my fees every month and the insurance but now I cannot get them to do anything. THE WORST COMPANY,I my opinion.
Another update
I received the $1,000 from the claim. Which is why I bumped it to a 2 star. I thought they'd consider more because of how long it took (15months) to get something ( like how they charge us late fees). But they didn't. Had a few good conversations with people that cared about getting this issue resolved and I am thankful. I was considering bumping to a 3, maybe even a 4 star. However, I just received an email stating that my rate was increasing $16 extra per month starting in November. No security (the gate is always open) no changes, just more money for them to collect.
More just an update. Getting some correspondence with the company but after more than a year of trying I still am not getting any further submitting my insurance claim after my break in. Their 3rd party insurance company "River Oak". They have been STALLING ME FOR A YEAR and I just received an email from them refusing to pay out my insurance claim because it's been more than 30 days. I plan to write an individualized review about them but wanted to share this with anyone who needs it. Also I'm still paying insurance every month. Prices are still increasing, still no added security and operating hours are decreasing.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. My storage was broken into and it looked like they took their time going through my stuff. They stole 3 tvs and even brand new toilet tissue and paper towel worth over 200 dollars. They got the right one in me baby. Cos no matter how lil it cost. I worked hard for my stuff

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!! 1 month after you sign rate will go up at least 40 bucks! Then they will add fees that aren’t disclosed to your bill. Claiming they emailed you. Worst storage EVER!!! Worst experience ever!!! All they want you to do is sign up from a month or so and then move out or default so they can sell your stuff. Hateful people work here!!
