Disappointing Outcome After a Promising Start at 121ecommerce
I deeply regret having to write this review, as I have always tried to maintain positive relationships with companies. My experience at 121ecommerce began favorably with a competitive salary and growth opportunities, despite some challenging dynamics in the management and sales teams during my first year.
Unfortunately, after the CEO passed away, the company experienced significant instability. Initially, we were reassured through informative meetings, but these soon stopped, leaving us without essential information regarding the company's future. This led me to consider other job offers, but I decided to stay after receiving a counteroffer, believing I could contribute positively to the company during challenging times.
As work began to dwindle due to a lack of new clients, the instability within the company became palpable day by day. Iâd like to think that part of the management, which was previously effective, became overwhelmed by the company's struggles and started to play the same unsettling games, putting undue pressure on me to "work harder" even though I consistently met all my obligations. Unfortunately, there was no more work to invent beyond what I was already doing. Weeks later, they denied the vacation I had planned, and their demeanor towards me changed significantly. Shortly thereafter, I was dismissed without any prior notice or the customary improvement plan, further indicating a departure from the company's established practices.
While the company maintained its practice of adequately compensating laid-off staff, my case was the exception. After my dismissal, I only received payment for the days worked, without any additional severance pay, even though other colleagues laid off in similar circumstances received their respective severance.
When I sought clarification, the new CEO claimed that my dismissal was due to "performance issues," which contradicted a performance review I had received only a few months earlier that provided extremely positive feedback. Additionally, they had made a counteroffer to retain me rather than see me accept another opportunity. This completely contradicts the claim of performance issues, and there was no evidence of any improvement plan or notice, as was customary. Later, I attempted to discuss this discrepancy but found that I was blocked from sending messages to anyone in the company.
I conclude that, under current management, 121ecommerce has not only changed its benefits and severance policies without proper communication, but it has also adopted management practices that I find unfair and non-transparent. I am deeply disappointed by the treatment I received and by the lack of consistency in handling my situation compared to other employees. For these reasons, I do not recommend working at this company under current circumstances. It would have been easy to handle my departure in a much fairer way and in line with previously established values.
