Went to pick up a boot scooter rental…
Went to pick up a boot scooter rental and the lady that served me was fab! Showed me the features of the item and even let me film her dismantling it for the boot so I could show my partner. She couldn’t have done more for me, really appreciated her service. Thank you

I popped into Ableworld Christchurch for some information about mobility items and the person we saw was very friendly and helpful. He went through the instructions for a mobility scooter for me and I then had a go around the shop and outside. very pleased.

Above and beyond!
Ableworld Christchurch in Dorset.
I had looked on the website the same day I went into store, where I was greeted by the wonderful Rebecca.
All my worries soon went away, and my feelings were validated.
Rebecca was on her own that day, and although the store wasn’t busy she went above and beyond my expectations.
Great customer service, great knowledge of the products, amazing compassion and care for me the customer.
Although facing her own health battles, was happy to help me into the car with my new scooter.

We bought a Power chair £2,200 in May…
We bought a Power chair £2,200 in May 2025 at the Christchurch store. Now Ableworld can't supply a new battery.

Home Repairs for parts under warranty cost £70 for call out
Most of the reviews that I have read are for how helpful the staff were when making a sale. The negative reviews are for the after sales which is my experience of my purchase of a stairlift. In the first year I had a fault which was fixed. Then the part of the chair that you pulled to use to go up and down the stairs stopped working and I had to use the remote control. I told the person who came to serve it about 14 months after purchase. He said the problem was actually related to the gadget that keeps the seat belt in place but he needed to check that I had a 3 year warranty which I did. He replaced it with another one which unfortunately has come apart a few times whilst going up the stairs. I ended up putting elastic bands around it to secure it. I have been unwell and in hospital and only felt like dealing with this now. The attitude of the lady answering the phone was neither friendly or apologetic about the problem that I was having. All she wanted to make sure of was that I had a parts warranty and to tell me that I had to pay a £70 call out charge. I live 5 mins from their shop. They give you their call out charges in their information package but I thought that as I had a warranty this would be done without a call out charge. This should be made clear on their receipt. It should be written that this 3 year parts warranty is reliant on the customer paying a £70 call out charge, more if you live more than 10 miles from the shop. So I have a stair lift that not long after it's first year has had two repairs and a part that is being held together with elastic bands.

We appreciate you outlining the faults you’ve experienced and understand how concerning it must be to rely on a product that has required multiple repairs. We’re also sorry to hear that you felt the manner of our telephone support was unsympathetic, we take this feedback seriously and will be addressing it with the team.
Regarding the warranty, we regret if the call-out charge was not made clear at the point of purchase. While the three-year warranty covers parts, a standard call-out fee does apply, and we acknowledge that this should be communicated more clearly in our documentation and receipts. Your comments on this are very helpful and will be reviewed internally.

Mobility scooter purchase
Went to the Christchurch branch to hire a mobility scooter, after looking at the mobility scooters they had on offer on.
Then spoke to Rebecca who was very helpful giving advice and demo also allowing me to test drive it.
Which I then purchased.

Excellent service
I visited the Christchurch store this morning to look at mobility scooters and had Eddie talk to me about my options, he was friendly and informative without being pushy. I returned this afternoon to buy a scooter and was served by Rebecca who was equally friendly and helpful. I would recommend this store for its wonderful staff who made the whole experience very easy.

A big shout out to Ableworld…
A big shout out to Ableworld Christchurch branch and a special thank you to staff member Rebecca for her guidance and advice during my visit into the unknown. Rebecca made me feel at ease from the moment I entered the store.
I was so impressed by her subject knowledge and her caring attitude towards customers, nothing was to much trouble for her. This made me feel at ease and able to relax and concentrate on what I was looking for. This journey has been sudden and traumatic and I would like to thank Rebecca for her help, understanding and support. Her explanations of different types of equipment and demonstrations of how they worked were straightforward and easy to understand. Great job Ableworld your staff are brilliant, thank you.
Would definitely recommend Ableworld to anyone starting out on this type of journey.
