I would strongly advise against using the services of Sunita Mehta at ABV Solicitors. Just a week before a key court date, I was unexpectedly asked to pay an additional £1,000, allegedly due to a change in the barrister for the plea hearing. This last-minute demand created unnecessary stress and raised serious concerns about transparency and planning.

Following the conclusion of the case, I required certain documents for an immigration matter. However, I was informed that I would be charged again to access my own case files — including for the retrieval and review of any documents needed. Overall, the lack of communication, unexpected fees, and poor client support have made this a very disappointing experience.

I had a deeply unsatisfactory experience with Sunita Mehta at ABV Solicitors. There was a consistent lack of communication, and I found her to be untrustworthy and unprofessional. Throughout the process, I was given inaccurate information, and rather than receiving clear guidance or support, her involvement led to unnecessary complications and stress.

Instead of being advised on the best options to support my case, I was left to find solutions on my own — doing my own research and effectively having to manage my case without proper legal support. I strongly advise others to be cautious and consider alternative representation.

Akhtar called me back on Saturday morning. He took the time to listen to my situation. This job doesn't seem like its just a pay check for him, as he took a sincere and compassionate approach to my circumstances. He was able to ease some of my worry by shedding light on certain specifics. With the conversation we had over the phone, you can quickly tell he is knowledgeable and a good solicitor. If you can get him to back your corner, I highly doubt you'd regret it. Andre

The below is a brief touch of the extremely unpleasant experience I have had with ABV, multiple times I have had to pay for second opinions from other law firms to get ABV to even respond. In fact I was not even shown my own evidence until a week before my trial by another law firm.

Quotes from two other law firms;
“ we should not be the ones showing you this for the first time”
“We are sorry you backed the wrong horse”

I leave below my original review which I was forced to read remove by Aneeta Borwick who threatened to remove my PAID representation a couple days before my final hearing. She forced me to write an email under duress stating otherwise, of an already known vulnerable client. The below is not intended for no purposes other than stating my experience of the firm and are not meant for defamation purposes

I could write a lot more but below are the lowlights of my experience with this firm.

I am a private paying client, and unfortunately my experience with ABV solicitors has been a very unpleasant one.

From my first consultation with Aneeta Borwick, who was quite hostile and threatened to charge me for phone call when I was trying to find out the level of service I would be provided for my money, to being constantly ignored and having to chase this firm at every stage and step of my legal proceedings.

I was given a solicitor who had leave scheduled for a week before my trial, I did not speak to my solicitor until 7pm on the night before my trial, at which point I was pressured into a guilty plea.

Of course I was charged with a full trial preparation, although I very much doubt any trial preparation took place.

Up to this day, I have still not spoke to any solicitor during working hours. I have been last on this list of priorities of this firm, which has been very strange as one would expect as a private paying client one would expect a service proportional to the level of fees payed.

I am a vulnerable client and this firm has done all they can to cause me further distress, it has honestly felt like talking to the prosecution. I have now been made aware by an out of office email my solicitor has gone on leave 3 days before my sentencing. No one has informed me of this before and I have now been left in the dark. The firm of course has requested further fees for this, I would recommend no one touch this firm unless you are getting legal aid.

It has been the worst experience of my life and the dealings with this firm honestly exacerbated my situation and mental health extremely

I am currently in the midst of a formal complaint against this firm and would advise any paying clients to rethink you decision

Really great people, Rishi Verma and Alice Bracknebury were fabulous.

My son was in need, and I was told about them.

They didn’t disappoint.

I contacted ABV solicitors after being arrested, despite it being out of working hours and on a Saturday, I called up their 24/7 line and spoke to Akhtar Ahmad. Akhtar is an amazing solicitor who advised me very calmly and strategically. He made sure I was reassured and kept in the loop throughout the entire process and even attended the police station with me for a second interview. Thanks to Akhtar and his team at ABV I was given NFA by the police following their inquiries. I can’t stress how vital Akhtars professionalism and case handling is, I cannot recommend him enough

AKHTAR AHMAD handled my son's case. From the minute I called and spoke to him on a Sunday morning he was caring and listened. He handled the case himself at my request and kept to his promise. Kept in contact and was always reassuring both to me and my son. I am forever grateful for the way he done this, keeping us calm through this traumatic time.
