After a disheartening experience with a previous firm (who I won’t name), I had genuinely lost all hope in the legal system. I was left feeling helpless, unheard, and unsupported. That was until I picked up the phone and called G&T Stewart—and from that moment, everything changed.

I am extremely disappointed with the way my case has been handled by GT Stewart.

Despite providing my solicitor with extensive evidence and a clear statement detailing the situation, my input was repeatedly overlooked. I was advised to remain silent apart from entering a not guilty plea, even though the facts of the case were straightforward.

My ex-girlfriend falsely accused me of theft, demanding the return of gifts she had given me during our relationship. She submitted photos and videos to the police showing herself retrieving items such as men’s clothing, shoes, and a PS5 from my belongings—items she had originally gifted to me. She also accused me of damaging the property simply because I had not taken out the trash that morning, even though I was also a legal tenant who paid half the rent and was the one who registered for and paid utility bills.

Due to the solicitor’s inaction, the case has dragged on unnecessarily. I am still not cleared of these false allegations, and my reputation remains in question.

To make matters worse, today I was finally able to access the flat with police escort, only to discover that approximately £9,000 worth of my personal belongings had been taken. I immediately contacted my solicitor, but as usual, received no reply.

I am choosing not to name the solicitor who has been handling my case for now in order to give GT Stewart the opportunity to respond constructively and take remedial action, rather than letting this situation reflect more poorly on the firm.

This experience has left me feeling abandoned and unprotected by a firm that claims to stand up for its clients.

This company was supposed to be representing me as they turned up at the police station for my interview then after that they were almost impossible to communicate with as nobody at the firm knew what was happening after multiple calls the failed to attend court with me on 3 occasions today being one of them I am now in Canterbury crown court awaiting my hearing WITHOUT ANY LEGAL REPRESENTATION!
They are USELESS! Do NOT APPOINT THIS FIRM!

Avoid at all costs

Solicitor turns up to magistrates & advises to go guilty. Says judge will ignore evidence of police conduct being questionable & will disregard photos of all the bruises the police inflicted. Told if not guilty case will go to crown and min sentence 6 months. How is that a defence lawyer? Lazy CBA quick legal aid case for 1st time offender. So if your assaulted by police, intimidated because they are talking about guns and you react this law firm won't defend your action's. Even though video shows cop bragging about a head lock. I dealt with the firm directly, error after error from day 1. Incorrect d.o.b, incorrect income expenditure amounts. Steer clear unless your guilty and want to plead guilty. Ideal firm then. In reply to you, it is GT Stewart 100%I emailed the person I dealt with whilst the case was ongoing telling her what was advised at the court by her colleague. She's not responded. So what's the use of emailing you with no name?
