I have not had much experience with the rest of Academics, but I have experience with Claire Gill who is superb! Claire works tirelessly and around the clock. I have been employed since 2021 with Academics and I have been supported and recieved regular work throughout this time. When a particular school has not been a good fit for me, Claire is understanding and without judgement swiftly got me more work at another school.

It has been a great and seamless experience with Sugesh Pradeepakumar who was very attentive, helpful, professional and supportive throughout the process. I have been in “communication” with multiple staff about finding me a role for months. On several occasions, I was told that a school was interested and they were just confirming a trail date for me to start. Then I would not hear back from Academics at all. A week after, I’d get a message about another opportunity and the cycle would continue. Either that or I’d be sent schools that were open for work, confirm which schools I’d be interested in and after chasing for progress updates, I’d be given an application form for a completely different school that hadn’t been discussed previously.

What impressed me the most was that had the time and dedication to support me throughout the entire job search process. She helped refine my CV, and kept me informed with regular updates.

My experience has been really good with Sugesh! As he has made sure my experience with the college I’ve been at, is tailored to my preference. By doing so he’s given me weekly phone calls or text messages to check up on my experience so far at the college, which has made me feel supported.

I recently turned to Academics to get back in the work-force, after 3 years unemployed. It's not easy, but they made it possible (unlike other agencies who need some 11.2 references, 70 years experience or 7.4 degrees).

When I originally signed up with Academics, for personal reasons, I didn’t take up their services for over a year. When I applied for a supply position at a school I knew that I would have to go through the ‘enrolment process’ all over again. That’s just how it is with all the education agencies that I have used, and I’ve signed up with about 8-9 of them over the 6 years that I have been employed as an agency worker.
When you have a certain amount of experience with agencies you get to know how they work. Which ones are good, which ones that actually care about you as an individual, and match you up with with the right school. The ones that if you tell them the school you have been placed at is not what you thought it would be, and they then spend time with you to find another position in another school without having any issues. Agencies that pay the top rate for your services.
Well folks, after my 6 years on supply, it’s Academics that are paying me my best ever daily rate!!!!! Not only that, my agent goes above and beyond for me in their work ethic and professionalism! I’ve learnt the hard way that there are agencies out there who want their pound of flesh from you, Academics have been fantastic with me!
