Andy and the crew at Africa Driven organised a marvellous safari for our group of 10 in 4 vehicles. We travelled through Botswana and Namibia using a mixture of campsites and lodge accommodation. Everything worked seamlessly including a day trip to Victoria Falls. Cehicles were reliable and comfortable. Great itinerary, clear directions and helpful tips. Definitely wetted our appetite for future trips using Africa Driven.

We’ve been traveling to Southern Africa for several years now, and every single trip has been organized through Africa Driven – always with the incredible support of Andy. Once again this year, everything was absolutely seamless.

From the very first conversation to the final day of our journey, Andy took care of every detail with thoughtfulness, flexibility, and deep local knowledge. Whether it’s remote camps, well-hidden lodges, or reliable 4x4 rentals – everything was spot-on. We never had to worry about logistics or timing; it all just worked.

What truly sets Andy apart is his personal dedication. He listens carefully, understands the kind of experience we’re after, and tailors every trip accordingly. Even when plans get complicated with multiple travelers and changing preferences, he manages it all with calm and precision.

"I've never used a travel company before, but my trip with Drive Botswana (now Africa Driven) has me completely hooked! I gave them a general idea of what we wanted, and they came back with an itinerary that was almost perfect. The entire process was so smooth. What really blew me away were the little details—like the handbook and maps that arrived before the trip, which got me so excited. Then, two weeks before we left, the detailed driving instructions arrived. They were so good and specific that all my anxiety about driving disappeared. The accommodations were also incredible, from super luxurious spots to the best options available in places like Etosha. Partnering with Bushlore for the car rental was another great choice they made. Seriously, it was one of the best vacations ever. I'm already planning to book with them again!

Andy and the team from Africa Driven (formally known as Drive Botswana) pulled together an epic 3 week itinerary for 10 of us (2 families of 5)

It was an adventure from start to finish….with a little bit of jeopardy thrown in for excitement. We appreciated how they carefully curated the itinerary, guiding us through each day, slowing breaking us into our surroundings with a couple of nail biting open camps towards the end. We loved every minute!

We had 3 well kitted out trucks that were exceptional in all terrains. Camping was interspersed by luxurious stays in splendid lodges. Giving us a chance to wash off the dust and relax.

The only change we would make would be to stay in each campsite for a couple of nights, as staying one night in different campsites was sometimes chaotic....but its only a tiny comment that was eclipsed by the fact that it was the best holiday ever!

We have just returned from our second trip organised by Africa Driven (formerly Drive Botswana) travelling from Johannesburg through Botswana and Namibia, finishing in Windhoek. The itinerary was first class, combining time in previously visited favourites with new suggestions and accommodation ranging from camping through to some luxury in lodges. The hands on knowledge of Andy and Phil is evident with us often having the best sites/rooms. Their attention to detail is excellent, with all bookings and arrangements working without any issues. The personalised notes are a wonderful resource. Would not hesitate in highly recommending them for anyone contemplating a trip of this kind - we will definitely be using when we plan our next trip!

Yet another ( we have travelled to Africa on self drive Safari with this company since 2014 and cannot fault them in any way) absolutely amazing itinerary put together by Africa Driven we cannot praise this company enough for their detailed planning and expertise with logistics. They know their itineraries intimately and on a number of occasions neighbouring campers have said to us how did you manage to get the best plot on the campsite! The incredible detail included in the directions document that helps steer you along your route and suggest all sorts of additional places to stop at or the wildlife that you could possibly see in particular locations is much appreciated. They have also created their own laminated maps and guide books that come with your package containing a wealth additional information and advice. We have just come back from Namibia which we visited in May. This is our second self drive there with this company. The landscape and wildlife of Namibia is truly stunning and it is good country to do your first four-wheel-drive Safari in. The mixture of tented accommodation and wilderness campsites was perfect and the vehicles that they arranged for us from Windhoek were exceptional. for those of you that haven’t used a roof temp before it’s a really comfortable way of sleeping in the bush dozing off to the sounds of nature all around you. We highly recommend this company they have never let us down. They’ve always been there when we needed assistance or guidance whether it be discussing an itinerary that they offer and tweaking it according to your wishes or when you’re actually on Safari. They always respond without delay ensuring that you have the best experience possible.

An expertly organised trip tailored to our specific requests - our 4th trip with Africa Drive and we have never been disappointed! We much appreciate the personal and professional touch.

Africa Driven offered our family an experience that may never be duplicated. Our crew of 6, who had never traveled to Africa, embarked in an adventure completely planned by Phil and his team. On paper the trip seemed adventurous for any seasoned traveler and perhaps crazy by many others. What was unrecognized was the enormous amount of information and planning that was provided by Africa Driven in preparation for our trip. The resources and attention to detail seemed to make every task a breeze. With the maps, guides, and suggestions provided, I practically felt as if I was driving in my own backyard; the countless elephants, giraffes, hippos, impala, and zebras reminded me that I wasn't. It is hard to describe the experience of managing your own private game drive and sharing these wonderful experiences with the ones you love most. Phil did a great job mixing our medial desire for "roughing it" with our desire for a couple luxury experiences. With so much of the world to see my only 2 wishes were that I had done this earlier in life and that Africa Driven was an outfitter in Australia, Europe, and South America. It will be hard to not self drive on our next family adventure. If you are even remotely considering planning a trip with Phil and his team, do it, it will be life changing.

We typically plan all of our own travel. However, when we decided on a 7-week self-drive safari (our third safari) in March and April of 2025, we knew this journey was beyond our abilities. As such, we contacted Africa Driven (formerly Drive Botswana) for assistance. They could not have been more accommodating! With their expertise (and a lot of patience!), they crafted the perfect itinerary. The end result was a truly epic adventure through Botswana and Namibia with an ideal balance between camping and lodges. The detailed driving directions, which included GPS coordinates and phone numbers, were incredibly helpful. The team’s “on the ground” experience was quite evident throughout the entire process from initial planning until trip completion. We can't imagine a better safari advisor to work with.

We have just completed a 3 week self-drive safari in Namibia/South Africa and Botswana, organized by Drive Botswana in conjunction with our friends David and Sharon with whom we shared the adventure. We have sailed round the world, but this was our first experience of traveling/camping a 4WD in Africa and after 3100 km we were totally impressed by the vast magnificent scenery, the wonderful vehicle and the great array of flora and fauna.The effort and expertise that went into organizing the route, campsites, lodges and b&b’s was extraordinary - 10 out of 10!

Unbelievable trip - went in March, yes the grass is high but the parks are also empty…..it was like a private safari everywhere we went. The whole trip was organised so so well even to the point we were late to the accommodation one night and we got a call from Andy asking if we was alright. Amazing service from Andy and Phil pre trip and during trip.thank you both. The guides and instructions were easy to follow. The accommodation is always clean the staff super friendly everywhere we went. As for the wildlife sightings we’ll just different class it wasn’t just sightings all the animals we saw where active. There was just so many highlights from wild dogs around the waterhole for 15 mins - to elephants swimming across the chobe river - tracking lions and cubs. Saw a stand off between young male lions and buffalo. And then there’s was the hyena den with maybe 15 hyenas on top of the den. Little ones underneath the car and honestly most of these was just us no other vehicles. The trip to vic falls in March is truly spectacular. In full flow noise is incredible. - all arranged for us all we had to do was drive point to point and enjoy ourselves - and we did ! Big time .

Andy at Drive Botswana put together a perfect trip for us. We have never used a tour company to sort out all our logistics before so we were a little nervous that it wouldn't be to our liking. But we had nothing to worry about, Andy listened to us and then made an itinerary that was perfectly to our taste. I can't recommend Drive Botswana enough if what you want is a enjoyable and seamless experience.

Drive Botswana offeres a tailor-made journey of a lifetime. The preparations was perfect. We requested a self-drive trip through Namibia and Botswana with 50% camping and 50% lodges. Phil provided us with an interactive online map that showed the proposed travel plan and all accommodations. The map included information about the areas, distances and useful tips. Also, we received two booklets and hardcopy maps at home that included tips like places to shop, tipping and border crossings. During the trip, they were easily reachable and even helped us when one our bags did not arrive at the airport. The bookings made were all perfect and we often had the idea that they reserved the best spots of the campings/lodges for us. We highly recommend Drive Botswana if you want to book an amazing trip to Africa!

We are a family of three and this is our second trip organized with Phil from Drive Botswana, and we cannot recommend them highly enough. Every detail was meticulously planned to ensure we had the best experience possible.

Last year, we did a self-drive adventure around Botswana, and this July, we went on another self-drive trip in Zambia. We started in Maun, Botswana, driving through Savuti NP and crossing into Zambia. Over the course of almost four weeks, we drove 5000 km, visiting incredible destinations like Liuwa Plains, Kafue National Park, North and South Luangwa, and the Lower Zambezi.
Our journey through Zambia was nothing short of extraordinary. From the stunning landscapes and breathtaking wildlife to rafting on Victoria Falls, bush walks, and canoeing on the Lower Zambezi, every moment was incredible. We encountered wonderful people along the way which added even more richness to our experience.
We faced a few hiccups, as one might expect on such an intensive trip, but Phil provided outstanding support and follow-up whenever needed.

This was truly an unforgettable adventure, filled with enourmous rewarding moments on all levels. If you have an adventurous spirit, don’t hesitate to trust Drive Botswana to help you turn your dream trip into reality. We will be back!

We organized our recent trip to Namibia and Botswana with our family with Drive Botswana and it was a really great experience. From the start, the communication was very fast, effective and Phil really listened to our needs and concerns to build the best itinerary possible. It was easy to make changes along the way and the prices were competitive. We contacted 3 other agencies before deciding to work with Drive Botswana. And the trip when exceedingly well. Everything was well organized, there were great activities planned, we had absolutely no snag or problem anywhere. They provided very detailed itinerary support and travel key app. And moreover, the kids had dedicated booklets to help identify the animals. We also had information books about the countries. And Phil was very reactive and helpful when we had minor changes or questions. We felt very secure and supported. Thank you for a fantastic trip!

We had an absolutely fantastic time on our trip to Botswana, and it wouldn’t have been the same without Phil’s exceptional service. From the start, he was responsive to all our questions and ensured everything was perfectly organised.

We had a great adventure in Namibia. Three weeks travelling the country in our Bushlore Bush Camper. All went smoothly as planned by the Drive Botswana Team. The wildlife spotting was excellent. The vast landscapes were stunning, we thought we were on Mars at some points! The people we met were all friendly and helpful. All the campsites were good, and the bush camper worked a treat. The Bush Lapa conversion is excellent – better than all the other camper variants we saw on the road.

All in all, a great trip. It was different our Botswana trip in 2022 (which was excellent) but equally as enjoyable. A big thank you to Andy and the team for organising everything.

Recently went on a trip through Namibia and Botswana organised by Phil. Would highly recommend this company, everything was so well organised and ran so smoothly (from pick ups and transfers to lodge and campsite bookings). Directions were extremely detailed and we loved ticking off the animals we saw in the booklets! Couldn’t recommend this company more!
