This company is a complete scam

This company is a complete scam. They did not tell us google crawl will count for search requests which means it does not really give you 100 k searches free as it suggests. They keep stealing money from my account and when you email them they will not respond. DO NOT USE THEM

Algolia Delivers — Quick, Intuitive, and Powerful

We've been using the paid version of Algolia for about 3 weeks now. First, the good stuff: the interface is super clean and intuitive, the search is genuinely fast, settings in the dashboard are flexible and easy to understand, and the API is straightforward.
One downside — sometimes, after a full index update, the operation needs to be repeated. Because of that, we haven’t been able to fully automate it yet, but in our case, that’s not a big deal.
Earlier this week, the index disappeared about 4 hours after a complete update.

That said, these small issues haven’t really gotten in the way of using the service. Search remains fast and stable, and it’s always easy to tweak things when needed. Honestly, I’m surprised there aren’t more positive reviews here — as a product, Algolia is great. I especially want to highlight how simple and intuitive the integration is.

The worst response times in TECH? WEEEKS (not hours or days)

Tried to contact them by their only method available - ticket support. This was 2 weeks ago. 2 weeks later we receive this auto response:

Do Not use this company if you value your website

This company has decided to disconnect my service meaning that I have no products showing on our website and this has been for over 24 hours now. This has cost my business £10,000's of thousands. The issue has stemmed from there departments not speaking with each other. We will be issuing a claim against this business, so my advice to anyone reading this is stay away from this company.

Terrible Onboarding Experience and Lack of Customer Care

I recently decided to explore Algolia's free version, intrigued by the promise of powerful search capabilities. However, my experience with their onboarding process left me utterly frustrated and shocked at their lack of professionalism and customer care.

Upon signing up, Algolia scheduled an onboarding call with me, which I initially thought was a great touch to help new users get started. But the call quickly turned into a nightmare. Instead of offering guidance or support, the representative seemed to only be interested in belittling me for being a "free plan" client. They were dismissive from the start, clearly not interested in my potential as an enterprise customer. It was almost as if they were insulted by my choice to explore the platform through their free tier.

The representative was rude and uninterested in continuing the 15-minute meeting I had set aside time for. They even mentioned having a "more important meeting" to attend, leaving me speechless at their audacity and lack of basic courtesy. This interaction spoke volumes about the company’s ethics—or lack thereof. It was clear that if this is how they treat a potential client exploring their services, I can only imagine the treatment paying customers receive, especially on lower-tier plans.

After this experience, I looked up other reviews and was not surprised to see that my experience wasn't unique. Many others have reported similar issues, such as a complete lack of customer support when things go wrong, buggy billing platforms with no notification systems, and slow responses to support tickets. Some even mentioned being double-billed for months without resolution, forcing them to involve their credit card companies.

In summary, if you're considering Algolia, be prepared for a frustrating experience if you're not already a high-paying customer. Their lack of professionalism during onboarding and the numerous reports of poor customer service should be a major red flag for anyone considering their services. I would not recommend Algolia to anyone looking for a reliable and customer-centric solution.

Lack of support, while needing it.

I recently had the misfortune of using Algolia for a search functionality project, and I can't emphasize enough how terrible the experience has been. If you're considering Algolia, save yourself the headache and look elsewhere.

Firstly, the lack of support is appalling. Whenever an issue arises, which is quite often, reaching out for help feels like shouting into a void. The response times are abysmal, and when you do finally get a reply, it's often generic and unhelpful. It's clear that customer support is not a priority for Algolia, leaving you stranded with technical issues and no viable solutions. Even knowing the solution, the team will not want to help you.

Moreover, the cost is astronomical compared to other options in the market (shopifyÂŽs solution is free, and you can also check for doofinder).
Algolia boasts about its features, but those come at an exorbitant price. For what they charge, you'd expect top-notch service and flawless functionality. Instead, you're left wondering why you're paying the highest rates in the industry for such subpar service. There are plenty of other search solutions available that offer comparable or even better features at a fraction of the cost.

While they know about your problems, they will just tell you that they understand the problem, but that since its an implementation problem that you need to save yourself.

In summary, Algolia's lack of support combined with its exorbitant pricing makes it a terrible choice. The high cost is unjustifiable, especially when paired with the poor customer service. Avoid Algolia if you value your time, money, and sanity.
