Betrug!

Die guten Bewertungen kommen durch Bitten der Veranstalter nach der Tour zustande.

Bei der Buchung steht nichts von Extrakosten und Abholung am Hotel sei inkludiert. Doch am Tag vor der Tour kam eine Mail man solle noch 10 Dollar pro Person extra für die Abholung am Hotel zahlen.
In Abstimmung mit GetYourGuide wurden diese 10 Dollar, auf Grund von Betrugsverdacht nicht gezahlt. Meine Eltern sind extra um 4 Uhr aufgestanden und haben 3 std in der Lobby gewartet und wurden nicht abgeholt.

Um am nächsten an der Tour teilnehmen zu können sollten dann Umbuchungsgebühren von 35 Dollar gezahlt werden.

Nach einem Langen hin und her mit GetYouGuide meinerseits haben wir das Geld erstattet bekommen.

Ich rate niemandem diese Tour zu Buchen. Auch weil zahlreiche echte Bewertungen keine guten Erlebnisse schildern.

Diese Veranstalter sind Betrüger die einem den schönen Urlaub schnell vermiesen können.

SCAM!!! We bought tickets for the Frida Kahlo museum (Casa Azul) but they gave us tickets for a cheaper museum (Casa Roja). They exploit a loophole through Expedia : they sell you an "itinerary" which allow them to present a meeting point corresponding to the right place but then they send you elsewhere. Of course their tickets are non refundable. Big disappointment about Expedia which agreed this was a scam but wasn't able to process a refund.

This mob are an absolute disgrace. They cancelled most of our tours at the last minute not offering a suitable replacement (these were trips we had already paid for). On the one tour which did go ahead they charged two no-show fees to my card even though we DID goon the tour. We continued to get text/whatsapp confirmations of tours that had already been cancelled. They don't know what they are doing. They are an abomination. STAY WELL CLEAR OF AMIGO TOURS!

Very bad experience with Amigo Tours in Barcelona at Park Güell.

The meeting point information was very unclear and not properly marked anywhere. We spent almost one hour searching for the meeting point even though we were already in the area. Nobody from the company tried to contact us or assist us. We called their phone number several times, but nobody answered.

When we finally found the meeting point, the agent spoke to me very rudely and showed no understanding of the situation. Because we arrived just one minute late, they refused to help us and told us we had lost our booking and needed to pay again. This happened because of their poor organization and lack of clear instructions.

I want to mention that I was traveling with two small children, 4 and 7 years old, and we walked in the heat for more than two hours trying to find the meeting point. In the end, we had to go back without seeing Park Güell, which was extremely disappointing.

Very poor customer service and very bad organization. I do not recommend Amigo Tours.

En plus de cela, une erreur dans leur communication m’a fait manquer une autre réservation. Malgré des échanges prouvant leur responsabilité, aucune solution ni compensation ne m’a été proposée.

Le dossier est considéré comme clos de leur côté. De mon côté, j’ai simplement perdu mon argent.

Pessima esperienza con un tour annullato, zero assistenza e voglia di risolvere il problema.
Assolutamente sconsigliati.

Contrato con ellos a través de Klook y me escriben por privado para decirme que por ese precio el tour es compartido (hasta 100 personas en lugar de privado como contraté), no incluye Coney Island, dura 5 horas en lugar de 7 y la recogida no es en mi hotel, todo diferente a lo contratado y pagado en su momento.

Booked via Tiqets (agent), but contacted by Amigo tours, saying due to a technical problem we’re cancelling your tour!
They obviously overbooked and cancel overflow. They completely do not care either way, then you have to wait an age to get your money back and it wasn’t cheap. Also, impossible to find a tour anywhere else. Not sure how you go about avoiding Amigo tours, I guess avoid Tiqets as an agent

I’m actually very disappointed with Go City and Amigo Tours.
I paid for a pass for Barcelona for my 40th birthday and I booked two tours via Go CIty with Amigo Tours.
I have a disability and I made a mistake with my bookings.
I tried to cancel but was unable to cancel one due to it being under 24 hours.
I cancelled the other, and thought was ok however you have to cancel each person even though you book together.
I contacted Amigo tours via email two days before about all reservations and I explained my error. I emailed thee times with no response.
I was charged 120 euro, I now have no way of re booking. I contacted Go City also and they are not able to help; they told me to contact Anigo tours, Anigo tours said they cannot help and to contact Go City.

I now cannot use my Go City passes due to the error I made and have lost a LOT of money. I’m so upset, this is around 300 euros of my money and I’m so disappointed that Go City were not able to support me more with my issue.
They do not seem to care.

Il 31 gennaio 2026 ho prenotato una visita per il 3 marzo alla Casa Azul Frida Kahlo pagando euro 38,34 . Mi mandano la mail di conferma per il 3 Marzo! Qualche giorno prima mi mandano un Whatsapp dicendo che non c’è più possibilità per la Casa Azul e mi dirottano verso la Casa Roja ! Ho dovuto accettare per non perdere la prenotazione ed i soldi! Agenzia da evitare assolutamente a Città del Messico! Mi risulta che anche altri turisti hanno avuto grossi problemi prenotando con loro! ATTENZIONE!!! PESSIMI…..

Nefasto. Timadores. Nunca reservéis con ellos. Nos ponía una hora en nuestra reserva y cuál es nuestra sorpresa que pasaron a recogernos 1 hora antes sin avisar. Al no estar presentes no avisaron en recepción para que nos avisaran. No dan ninguna solución, no dejan incorporarnos en ningún punto y nos cuelgan el teléfono. Dicen que mandaron un email que nunca llegó y no fueron capaces de avisar al hotel ni llamarnos al teléfono.

Wir buchten den Besuch des Park Güell über GO CITY.
Alles klappte reibungslos bis auf die Tatsache, dass der Tourguide wohl vergaß, uns als anwesend einzubuchen.
So wurden uns noch am selben Tag die angekündigten Maluszahlungen von unserem Konto abgebucht.
So weit kein Problem.
Leider antwortete AMIGO-TOURS auf keinen Kontakt von uns, wo wir mit Erklärungen der Sachlage das zu Unrecht abgebuchte Geld zurück verlangten.
So blieb nur noch, die Stornobuchung über unsere Bank anzustoßen.
Und nach einigen Tagen wurde und der komplette Malusbetrag zurück gebucht.
Fazit: AMIGO-TOURS kann von uns NICHT empfohlen werden und wir verzichten künftig auch auf deren Dienste!

Resumiendo,no recibí el link para descargar la audioguía para realizar la visita (la visita se realiza por tu cuenta sin la presencia del guia,ya que este solo te acompaña a la isla Liberty i lo demàs lo haces por tu cuenta con la audioguía)Al no recibir la audioguía no me sivio de nada haberla contratado.
Reclame a Civitatis y me respondieron que la audioguía la proporcionaba Amigo Tours.Reclame a Amigo Tours y el dia 25 de febrero me respondieron si habia recibido el link,yo la visita la tenia. para el dia 18 de febrero.
Yo paque un servicio que NO pude usar.

This tour company, which offers a variety of tours, is unreliable. If a tour is canceled due to circumstances beyond the tourist's control, forget about getting your money back; they'll find all sorts of excuses not to honor the refund—that's their standard practice. There are other similar companies like (Viator)that offer these services; do a search. But if you buy from them, it's at your own risk.

Extremely Rude and Condescending.

I called to enquire about the balance owing for my minor child's travel and airfare, because she was going on vacation with a friend's family. The Rep i spoke with, Eduardo maybe,) told me the balance was 2grand. I asked if that was just my child's ticket balance, not the families trip balance. He told me i 'should of called last week, bc the agent who's been dealing with that is on vacation.' and the 'only note he sees is that the agency (Amigo Tours Toronto) was to be expecting a phone call to pay for the balance.' I asked him if he could send me the tentative itinerary, and flight,(hotel, flight provider,) for just my child. The rep said he didnt have time for this. I told him I didnt feel comfortable paying 2grand with nothing, no documents, no dates, flights or paper trail. The rep responded by saying 'either you pay and you go, or you dont pay and you dont go...' he continued to rant and mock me saying 'oh you dont feel comfortable,' and 'i dont play these games', but hung up because now he had raised his voice and was extremely rude. Ive never witnessed anything like it. The family my child is supposed to be traveling with also dont have any info, other than a hotel room with their name on it and the arrival date. But I feel like one can just change the guests name easily by editing the guests. Nothing was legit.

My experience with Amigo Tours echoes the many 1-star reviews here: complete lack of organization and zero accountability.

I booked a tour recently and arrived at the meeting point well before the scheduled time. My booking was physically verified and even photographed by the on-site staff. However, despite confirming my presence, they provided no clear boarding instructions and the bus simply departed without me.

When I sought immediate help, the staff on the ground were dismissive. Later, the company’s "Quality Department" admitted in writing that my voucher had been verified at the scene, yet they still refused a refund, using flawed excuses about their inability to contact me (relying on international calls instead of standard messaging apps).

This is clearly a systemic issue where they collect money but feel no obligation to ensure guests actually receive the service. Judging by other recent feedback (including narayanan thenappan's and Rowan Godwin's identical experiences), abandoning guests and failing to communicate is their standard operating procedure. This company is a tourist trap—save your money and book with a reliable operator instead.

Beware of their deceptive tactics. Amigo Tours is using a "Double-Faced" strategy to avoid refunds. To the credit card company, they argued that because other group members completed the tour, I am not entitled to a refund—completely ignoring the fact that their own guide abandoned me at the meeting point. This misleading defense caused me to lose the initial dispute. If I into a formal arbitration that costs an additional $500 USD just to appeal.

They know the $500 fee is a barrier for most travelers. By denying the facts in the dispute process, they force victims into a "lose-lose" situation—either drop the claim or risk 10 times the tour price in fees.

I have filed a formal complaint with PROFECO (Mexican Federal Consumer Protection Agency)

I booked a trip to the Statue of Liberty. Unfortunately as a disabled person I had a medical emergency the night before I was due to go and you can’t get a refund. I think that as certain situations you should be eligible is it’s out of your control. I have tried to get in touch but can’t seem to get anywhere where you can speak. Disappointed

Totally unreliable! Prices were good BUT less than 24 hrs before our museum tickets they cancelled them and this is during holiday time so there are no other tickets to be found this late. They did offer an earlier time the same day but we had already booked another tour at that time a long time ago. Just want to save others this disappointment- pay more and with a legitimate provider so you get actual tickets.

Not recommended – misleading “VIP” tour

This tour was sold as a VIP tour with an English-speaking guide, but the actual experience hardly matched that description.

Out of the advertised 12 hours, around 8 hours are spent on the bus. Another approximately 2 hours are wasted on a clearly staged sales stop at an artificial, overpriced “Maya village.” The so-called “Mexican buffet” there consisted mainly of overcooked spaghetti and a few barely acceptable tacos. To make matters worse, a 0.5-liter bottle of water cost USD 4, which felt like pure exploitation.

That leaves far too little time for the real attractions:
• Chichén Itzá: less than 45 minutes, completely insufficient to properly explore the site
• Valladolid: about 25 minutes, essentially just a token stop

Another major issue was the guide. The tour was explicitly sold with an English-speaking guide, yet the guide would usually say one sentence in English followed by two in Spanish, making it very difficult to understand the explanations. This is not what one expects from a tour marketed as English-guided.

Ironically, the guide’s English suddenly became very clear when it came time to ask for tips. At the end, he delivered several full sentences in English, explicitly stating that even if tipping is not part of everyday life in your home countries, in Mexico you always tip.

Conclusion:
Misleading marketing, poor time management, sales stops instead of sightseeing, and a guide who was not genuinely English-speaking.
This tour and this company are absolutely not recommended.
