A quick completion but disappointing customer serice
A quick completion doesn't necessarily mean good customer service
We chose AMT following a recommendation from our mortgage adviser. While our conveyancing was completed relatively quickly, unfortunately, our overall experience was disappointing.
Our concerns were never about the speed of the transaction, but rather the lack of communication, guidance, and personal service throughout the process.
Communication often felt fragmented, with emails and requests for information arriving in dribs and drabs rather than in a clear, coordinated manner. We received very few updates and frequently felt that we were simply being processed rather than supported through what is a significant financial and legal commitment.
One particularly frustrating example was when we were asked to complete important paperwork. We raised a question about how to fill in one of the forms correctly, but never received an answer. When paying for professional legal services, we don't believe it is unreasonable to expect clear guidance, particularly when dealing with documents we are being asked to sign.
The final invoice was also considerably higher than we had anticipated. When we questioned this, the explanation we received was unclear and did little to reassure us. A small reduction was subsequently offered, which we appreciated, but this did not resolve our concerns about the transparency of the costs.
Despite our disappointment, we had not intended to leave a review. However, following completion, we received emails requesting feedback, and both of us were contacted by telephone encouraging us to leave a review. Having been asked for our opinion, we decided to share our honest experience.
Following our original review, we were contacted by the owner, who questioned whether our two-star rating was fair given how quickly the conveyancing had been completed. We have since increased the star rating based on the speed, not the overall service. We explained that speed had never been the issue. Although he said our feedback would be passed on, no apology was offered for the experience we had described.
Ironically, we felt that more effort was made to communicate with us regarding leaving a review than during the conveyancing process itself.
We fully acknowledge that AMT completed the legal work promptly, and we appreciate that. However, we believe good customer service should involve more than simply completing a transaction. Clear communication, transparency, professionalism, and making clients feel supported are equally important.
Unfortunately, those aspects of the service fell short of our expectations.
Our two-star rating reflects our overall experience, not the speed of completion. We feel our feedback is fair, constructive, and honest, reflection of the service we received.
On that basis, we would find it difficult to recommend AMT. We do not appreciate being pressured into amending our review.

I have used AMT twice within a year and…
