I recently had lens replacement surgery at Anderson Eye Care, Eastleigh. Mr Anderson was highly recommended by a previous patient. I booked a consultation as I was finding wearing glasses increasingly inconvenient .
Mr Anderson talked me through basic eye anatomy and the causes of eye deterioration as we age. We then discussed my lifestyle and the choice of lens that would suit me. The surgical procedure was explained and a very thorough eye examination followed. For the surgery I was offered local or general anaesthetic. I chose to be fully awake during the procedure which was quick and miraculously pain free. Immediately after surgery I was free from glasses with perfect vision. Incredible.
It has been 10 weeks post surgery and it has been life changing for me. Every day feels like a miracle.
I have no hesitation in recommending Mr Anderson whose professionalism, attention to detail and friendly demeanour instil a sense of calm and confidence. All members of his team are so caring and friendly too. 100% recommend.

I am now over 6 months post surgery and it has been life changing! Being able to see without glasses since I was 6yrs, enjoying a trip to the beach for the first time has been amazing. Only have good words to say about both Mr Anderson and his team. Best decision I have made. My neighbour is following my advice and hopefully going ahead with surgery too.

Mr Anderson understood my nervousness given the post-operative problems I had had ten years previously with my left eye. He understood why I had put off for as long as I could (as advised by the medical specialist group monitoring my eye condition), the cataract surgery now needed on my right eye. Most importantly, he saw my clear need, having got to the point of rapid deterioration and severely reduced sight, for a rapid intervention.

He agreed to undertake the surgery without delay. The cataract was, as I was told afterwards, a dense brunescent - not the easiest, I am told to deal with.

The surgery and post surgery recovery were painless and almost immediately, post-operation my vision appeared to be almost back to normal. Within two weeks I had 20/20 vision in the eye. I do not think I could have asked for more.

I cannot commend the work of Mr Anderson and of the other staff at the Wessex Hospital enough. The whole process was very professional.

I would 100% recommend Anderson Eye Care. The whole process from the initial consultation through to the procedure and follow ups was brilliant. Every step was explained clearly by Mr Anderson and his fabulous team. I felt confident throughout and the result from my laser eye surgery is nothing short of a miracle. I wore contact lenses for 27 years for short sight and more recently reading glasses for long sight and now I don’t need either! Thank you Mr Anderson as you can tell I am delighted with the result!

I cannot recommend Anderson Eye Care more highly. David Anderson and his team are highly professional, caring and supportive. I can honestly say that my bilateral cataract surgery has transformed my life. I am able to see clearly, drive at night and even thread a needle!

I would like to offer one piece of advice, if you need cataract surgery, don't put it off. It's completely understandable to be nervous about eye surgery, but David Anderson will put you at ease and will explain the procedure clearly and professionally. The after care is also exemplary.

I am now enjoying life with 20/20 vision after recently undergoing ReLEx SMILE to correct my shortsightedness (-6.50) and astigmatism.
I received seamless, first class treatment all the way. You couldn’t ask for a better surgeon than David Anderson, he is extremely knowledgeable and personable and put me at ease throughout my patient journey.
The procedure was painless and anyone who enjoys sci fi will find it fascinating.
I was provided with plenty of aftercare - quite an intensive eye drop schedule but I followed it to the letter and enjoyed a fast and thorough healing process. Lastly, The Wessex Nuffield Hospital itself deserves a mention . The building is clean, relaxing, and the staff are both friendly and professional.

Excellent at every stage of the process from booking an initial consultation to having Lens Replacement Surgery to follow-up. David was brilliant as was the rest of his team.

I have keratoconus and have previously only been able to function when wearing piggyback contact lenses. If I was unable to wear them for any reason I was effectively blind. Now, my sight is so improved that I can manage with just glasses

The service from start to finish was 1st class. Communication, information, procedure and post Op was all exceptional.

Without a doubt the best thing I’ve done,I couldn’t see a thing without my glasses,as soon as Dr Anderson and his team performed the laser surgery I could see.No pain during the procedure and only a little for 24 hours afterwards,cannot speak highly enough of Dr Anderson he’s completely changed my life.

Individualised advice and management, good communication. At no point did I feel under pressure to commit to treatment. Mr Anderson was happy for me to have a number of appointments to try out different lenses before I decided which suited my needs best and planned surgery accordingly.

In 2022 I underwent lens replacement in both eyes. The operation was a success and the staff exceptional.
I saw Mr Anderson again this year for YAG laser treatment to alleviate some clouding of the vision, it was always a possibility this may be needed as was explained at the time of the operation.
This took 15 mins and corrected the problem quickly. As before I had complete confidence in Mr Anderson and am grateful for the treatment. I would highly recommend him.

Age 56 and have worn varifocal glasses for 11y years .
Originally went for laser treatment only to find I had cataracts.One option was to go for lens replacement after cataract removal which I was a little hesitant about .
I needn't have been ,from start to finish David Anderson and his team couldn't have done anything else to help me.
The procedure to my amazement was quick and painless and within 48 hrs my eyesight was just amazing.Im seeing things and colours like I did when I was in my 20's
Their aftercare is great just having had my 2 week checkup .
I can't thank them enough it's life-changing and I would recommend to anyone who is thinking about it.

From 1st contact to treatment completion my experience was first class. Laser treatment sounds scary, but I need not have worried, it was pain free, and quick.

SMILE laser eye surgery was life changing and totally uncomplicated. Great medical care by Mr Anderson and his Team in Jersey and Southampton. I was unsure whether to go with Mr Anderson because of the presentation on his slick website.

But he is steady and professional in real life, and SMILE is truly a very straightforward procedure and you leave the theatre half an hour later with vision without glasses.

I was able to see the same day without glasses, from -7 and -6.25. The aftercare is straightforward with drops several times a day to prevent infection. There was no pain and only mild discomfort for the first day.

Absolutely life changing, and I am so delighted to have had the procedure.

I have had both cataract replaced. I had radial keratotomy many years ago which made it a more complicated procedure. The service was very good from start to finish. Mr Anderson explained everything in detail. Still early days yet but my vision is so much clearer.
