The solicitor appointed to handle the purchase our freehold for a block of flats failed to properely communicate or advise during the process. Some examples are:
* File notes confirming agreed actions were not provided.
* The completion was brought forward by the solicitor by 3 weeks without agreement by the residents to the revised date.
* The solicitor failed to convey there was an impending cut-off date to complete beyond which additional charges would accrue, and this had influenced his decision to bring the date forward.
* The adjusted date meant that some residents did not have an additional monthly pay check and it looked for a while as though the purchase was in jeopardy.
* Residents were given just 2 weeks to ensure they had all the funds available rather than 5 as had been discussed and agreed.
* Eventually a compromise of bringing completion forward by a week rather than 3 weeks was agreed via a telephone call, however this was not confirmed in writing so residents were frantic due to the lack of comms.
* A telephone complaint was made in line with Anthony Gold's complaints procedure, and a call-back was requested. The complaint was redirected to the solicitor against whom the complaint was made rather than being dealt with properly.
* Residents were made directors of the freehold company without their agreement.

Terrible experience
I simply wanted to make a will
Called and spoke to a lady who asked all questions regarding my wishes ,said local Streatham office would call me back to finalise details , I waited a week and nothing ,I called again ,this Sean asked me to email my driving licence ,so I did ,two weeks later i call again to be spoke to like a kid and he blamed me for not saying what I wanted in the will ,even though he never asked for any extra details ,was actually extremely rude and aggressive on the telephone , if I thought I'd have to write the will why would I want to pay £500 to Anthony gold ,for the pleasure of being spoken to like human waste ?
Needless to say I'll go find a solicitor with some manners and professional staff

I have used Anthony Gold - Streatham branch recently for purchase of a property and had a great experience. My case was dealt by Ms. Sarah Clark who has worked proactively throughout the process. Nicola Gunn has been hugely effective and supportive in bringing about a positive result in securing an EHCP for my son that ensures his additional learning needs have been properly identified and that he will be given the right support to maximise any progress. Nicola worked to tight deadlines, often sending out emails late in the evening to ensure I was kept up to date with proceedings and to make sure that necessary reports were sent out on time. Communication throughout the entire process has been excellent and she always ensured that options were carefully explained before proceeding to the next stage. The process has been challenging but with Nicola's support throughout it has been made so much easier and I can't thank her enough!
