We did notify users about the rebrand well in advance, with multiple announcement emails sent late last year and earlier this year. We also communicated pricing changes ahead of time.

We’re sorry to hear this was your experience.

We understand how frustrating it is to have trouble canceling, especially when a trial turns into an annual subscription. Trial subscriptions renew automatically unless they’re canceled before the billing date, and we send a reminder in advance so users are aware of the upcoming charge.

Our support team is also always available to help before a trial ends. If you had reached out while you were having trouble canceling, we could have helped you through it or canceled it for you from our side. At the moment, we don’t see any communication from you before the trial expired letting us know there was an issue with cancellation.

We know that doesn’t make this experience any less frustrating, and we’re sorry for that. If there’s still anything unresolved, please contact our support team directly so we can take another look at the account details with you.

While we do use an AI assistant to help with initial guidance (as many platforms now do), every escalated conversation is handled by human support agents. We’re sorry if your experience made it feel otherwise - that’s certainly not the impression we want to leave.

You’re absolutely right that response time matters, especially when you’re working against deadlines. Waiting several hours when something has gone wrong is stressful, and we understand how that compounds the frustration. We’re actively reviewing response speed and escalation workflows to improve turnaround times, particularly for Business users.

Regarding cloud recordings, we appreciate you raising that question. In certain recovery scenarios, our team may need to manually provide access depending on how the session was stored or processed. We’ll share it with the product team for consideration.

We’re unable to locate any support inquiries from you so far, and we don’t see an account under your name in our system. Async was previously known as Podcastle, which may explain why the charge name looked unfamiliar.

That said, it’s not possible for us to charge a credit card unless someone actively signs up for a trial or paid plan and enters full payment details. We also do not require a credit card just to create an account.

To investigate this further and confirm exactly what’s happening, please reach out to our support team directly at support@async.com. If this is a fraud-related issue, we’re more than happy to review it with you and cooperate with your bank if needed.

We appreciate you flagging this and would like to help clear it up as quickly as possible.
