Support from management is absolutely appalling. They seem to be a process-driven company more interested in ticking boxes than supporting front line staff. Communication from management is appalling and stock orders being processed is russian roulette. There are long standing issues with inacuracies with pay and holiday bookings. Aviod these charlatans if you can. They describe treating their employees as family on their website which to me is a huge red flag and a reason to avoid them.

Don't ask for anything even slightly that might mean so called supervisors or inept managers that can't do anything basic even for any answers to your employment contract or requires them to lift a finger to answer a email or text or your job may be on the line

I used to line manage the cleaners at a school in West Yorkshire. The school recently TUPe'd the cleaners to Atlas FM. What a mistake. Atlas FM sold the school a fairy tale of how they support and take care of their staff this was the deal breaker for giving Atlas FM the contract. The communication, organisation, TUPE process, treatment of staff and service level has been atrocious. Cleaners have not been paid properly since the beginning of the contract. areas of the school are not staffed and haven't been cleaned since the start of the contract, Supervisors put in place with next to no pay rise as a barrier for complaints. The company lies, does not look after their staff, does not complete the service they are contracted to complete and seem to be blind to how abysmal they are operating the company. this company should be shut down by trading standards. If you are looking for an FM company in any capacity do not entertain Atlas FM. If you are being or have been TUPE'd over to them, LEAVE QUICK. There are plenty of other companies that will pay and treat you correctly.
Absolutely Useless Employer in every aspect.
I recently Tupe'd over to Atlas from a well established company. I was making a good wage each month which they had to match. To cut a long story short, I worked there for 3 months, never received a penny, currently starting court proceedings. excuse after excuse with these jokers. They gave me no uniform, no equipment and zero communication. I keep records of everything but they never once said they got anything. Then one of the other workers told me in confidence that they just wanted the contract and they have a habit of getting rid of TUPE staff by forcing them to quit. Absolutely digusting company,,I wish I had never heard of Atlas, I never ever leave reviews, but people should be warned.
I have worked in a high school for 14 years as a cleaner and unfortunately my previous employer lost their contract and whoever made the big mistake of taking Atlas FM on as our new employer has made myself and my work colleagues very unhappy. They are very unprofessional. They have messed everybody's wages up every month, do not send enough cleaning equipment that we require. When any of us tries to contact them by phone about any issues especially wages mistakes they don't answer, absolutely disgraceful company in my opinion 😡👎
TUPED over from Salisbury Group. This was my experience: We were told all the rewards we would get for hard work. Those rewards never came. Instead, not even a month later, there was a team restructure so things were more 'aligned' with the client’s contract. Well, let me tell you how more 'aligned' things were. One time I couldn't clean the toilets properly due to lack of toilet cleaner; a whole week I went without toilet cleaner. There was also an instance where a contractor on site caused the fire alarm to go off. I evacuated the building and was told to re-enter the building, assuming it was safe to do so. But then I was told to abandon shift due to the building being faulty. A couple months went by without incident. Then I was informed that there was another team restructure, due to the fact that we were moving to a new, smaller building. Another couple of months went by, unaware of any issues. Then when it was time to move into the new building, I was only informed when it was time to start shift that we were still in the old building. A few shifts when by, working as normal. Then, all of a sudden, things got extremely hostile, standards were raised to an impossible standard, and was put in a position where I had to quit. Now that it's over it's clear that things went horribly wrong. But it wasn't due to anything I did; I'm not saying I was perfect but whatever happened was much bigger than me and was a consequence of neglectful management and planned obsolescence. So nothing I did or didn't do would've fixed things. Overall, stay well clear.
No communication dont reply to messages, lack of support, lack of cleaning products, can't get the rosta right , wages not always right then having to wait until the following pay day for them. Lack of training for new people.Area manager got the clients to tell me i could have holidays that I asked 4 times for when she was on site when I was ,that was the last straw for me after working 7 years for Atlas I left with absolutely no communication.
Dreadful management (the operatives themselves are often really lovely people and do work hard) - they don't respond to calls and emails, make empty promises, and clearly could not care less about meeting contractual obligations. We've been let down on so many occasions, and even the operatives themselves have jumped ship due to appalling management and exploitative work practices.
Avoid at all costs.
Appalling and unprofessional company. Multiple reviews report being ignored, lied to, and even having payments withheld for over 43 days after completed work. Management is described as untrained and disrespectful, with poor communication being a constant theme. A terrible experience to be avoided.
Awful company to work for. No support from area manager or head office. Area manager lies all the time and swears blind he never said anything. Hardly ever responded to calls or texting. They undermine your decisions despite them making you make decisions so what's the point in asking for your experience and help!
Appalling.
The problems with facilities management is that they can hire and fire the desperate and often unwilling.
Despite being a very experienced cleaner, I was spoken to like something that managers stepped in.
Legitimate complaints are dismissed and what should be private meetings are treated like a free-for-all.
There isn’t enough space here to describe just how wretched the management can be, untrained, inexperienced and unprofessional dealing with legitimate complaints as if they are just employees being awkward.
I don’t think I’ve ever, in all my years of this job that I’ve had such an unpleasant experience and would encourage anyone considering working for this lot to look elsewhere.
As for the work quality- that depends on a number of factors but poor management from the very top down is the issue.
Met up with one of the people from Atlas fm, she seemed nice enough, apart from having a bit of a dig at another company I worked for, which seemed a little unprofessional. Then told I had the job and to start the following week. She needed my documents and to email them over which I did. Sent a follow up email and messaged her to make sure my documents had been received, no response whatsoever. Then deleted the email after no communication, as I felt dubious about emailing personal information. A very baffling scenario.
I completed a full maintenance job for a USPS facility on October 3rd on behalf of this company. The work included tree trimming, tree removal, mulch installation, bed cleanup, and general grounds maintenance. I was told payment would be issued in 7–14 days.
After the job was completed, I was told payment couldn’t be made until I provided additional banking information — which I sent immediately. It has now been over 43 days, and I still have not been paid.
Voicemails are full, calls and messages are ignored, and no one will give a straight answer. As a small family-owned business, this delay has caused real financial 1 star
This company is refusing to pay me for a job I completed 43 days ago at a USPS facility. They promised payment within 7–14 days, then changed it to “net 30,” and now they won’t answer the phone.
Cliff Van Anthony Segovia personally requested my banking info after the job was completed, and since then it has been excuses, delays, and silence.
Voicemail boxes full. No callbacks. No payment.
They used my small business to get the job done and are now ignoring me.
If you are a contractor, DO NOT work with this company unless you want to risk being burned.
These people live on their own bubble where respect means nothing. For example, they give you an appointment for an interview and they don't show up, to cover their mistakes they fill reality with their lies and excuses, they invent conversations that never happened about new appointments, they probably have this kind of conversation in front of a mirror. They are so unprofessional that makes me wonder why people use their services...
PS: June Robb was so rude and unprofessional that when I contacted Atlas to speak about it they just told me: we have to cancel your interview!
An interview that nobody mentioned to me and that I never agreed to. So they canceled something that didn't even exist. But nobody apologized for their unprofessional behaviour.
And they also want to cancel this review as I received an email saying: you have to add more info because atlas fm need to check if you are saying the truth otherwise we have to cancel it.
I hope you are satisfied now.
Where to start with Altas FM? Well, how about how bad their cleaners are at cleaning residential buildings? Or maybe how they employed cleaners from Hi Spec Facilities Services (who they also own), or how often they come out to clean, blaming a lack of staff.
Well, all the above. In fact, for starters, Altas FM (company number: 06883247) is owned by the same people who own Hi-Spec (company number: 04373379), who also have overdue accounts, and the same directors from looking at Companies House.
For us, our problem started over 6 years ago when Hi-spec took over the cleaning contracts, and even though there were regular with the cleaning, the cleaners were very lazy, they would miss the corners of the floors, forget to clean or mop over the skirting boards, and even vandalise residential front doors, and only spend 6 minutes cleaning 3 floors and 2 stairwells.
Cut to July this year, and Atlas FM took over the cleaning contract. How did I know? Well, I made a complaint after our building wasn’t cleaned for 2 months and got told by Clarion Housing that they had taken over the contract from Hi-Spec.
So, on the 7th of September 2025, a whole 2 months after our building was last cleaned, two African men came and cleaned our building. They spent 7 minutes in our building cleaning, and by cleaning, I mean just lightly mopping 3 floors and 2 stairwells, in just 7 minutes.
After they had left, I inspected the cleaning standards. I have worked as a cleaner before, so I knew what to look out for, and checked all 3 floors, and 2 of them were extremely dirty. The reason why the ground floor wasn’t too bad was that I (a resident) had been cleaning it weekly for the past month, so the dirt from 2 months ago was still visible on the top and middle floors, and the stairwell connecting them.
So, cue to today, where after making another complaint, they sent 2 more cleaners, this time a young man and a older woman, who were just as lazier as the other two they had previously sent. They spent 5 minutes just mopping the floors and again missed the corners of the ground floor. Again, I inspected their work and took photos whilst the floor was still wet to show how they missed areas, including the skirting board and how they just mopped dry dirt to residents' front doors. I then reported this again to Clarion Housing, as this was an extreme example of very poor cleaning standards.
From seeing how both Hi-Spec and now Atlas FM train their cleaners to clean (I’m guessing they just show them TicTok videos on how to clean floors quickly), they pretty much clean at the same standard. I have been told that Clarion Housing are going to review their cleaning contracts with them now that they have been made public.
Also, not sure what they are playing at running two different companies with the same directors, and I’m sure trading standards will be looking into them and their accounts more closely.
Overall, I would advise anyone whose buildings (residential or commercial) are being cleaned by them to rethink their contracts with them before this becomes another company that gets struck off Companies House and replaced by another poor cleaning company.
Genuinely enjoy working for this company, has great values and ensures everyone is cared for and supported, all work is completed to high standard everyday!
I’ve worked at Atlas Cleaning Company in Newport for 8 years, and it’s been a really positive experience. From day one, the management team has been supportive and approachable, always making sure staff feel valued and listened to. The training and guidance provided are excellent, and there’s a strong focus on maintaining high standards while creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Over the years I’ve been given opportunities to learn and grow, and I’ve always felt like a trusted member of the team. Atlas is a company that genuinely looks after its employees, and I’m proud to be part of it. I’d highly recommend it as a great place to work.
