The process has been brilliant. Honestly, the wait to get it was long enough that I aged slightly, but it was well worth the patience for top quality. Simple to use and I already have cherry tomatoes and peppers growing like they're trying to win an a Blue Ribbon at the State Fair. Whenever I have a question, customer support responds promptly that it's almost telepathic. The Auk experience is an absolute 10+. Seriously, everyone needs an Auk—unless, of course, you’re an actual farmer, in which case this might just feel like bringing your work home.

For the price one pays, this is over rated. The design is the strongest point. This planter has a really nice look. Beyond that, the poles that determine how high one can raise the light bar are too short for basic herbs. They do provide taller poles for peppers and tomatoes but the shorter poles are a waste. Your plants (basil, cilantro, most other herbs) will grow into the light bar and the leaves will burn. To increase the height, the base would probably need to be widened, which would be good as it would hold more water.

The light intensity is quite good. I am concerned, however, because I don't see substantial heat fins or any other mechanism for cooling very hot lights. This leads me to think the light bar will not have a long lifespan. To understand why, go visit the Dyson site and read about their LED light fixture if it is still being offered. Cooling really matters for longevity and I don't see that problem as having been adequately addressed in this product. I could be wrong, I would be delighted to be wrong, but we shall see. Bottom line: for this price, I think this product needs some improvements. Nice design, good light outputs, plants like it.

All the comments about delayed shipments and really poor communication are on point; that was my experience as well.

The app for controlling the light bar is very basic, doesn't work outside your local network, and offers very little flexibility as far as scheduling. Auk says they are working on the app. I would hope so. An app that doesn't function when you are away from your home, and in 2026, just screams little thought was given to the app before release. Hell, has this team heard of Claude? They should give it a spin.

I also tire of what are almost spam, automated emails from this company. Lots of them and too frequent. They advertise like a small, sincere company but customer support is like trying to deal with Spectrum or a PE-owned, customer-comes-last enterprise.

All the add-on items and seeds are wildly overpriced. Get your coco soil from Amazon, get your seeds from elsewhere, crush your own charcoal, if this were a customer friendly company they would just tell you what nutrients to go buy instead of overcharging for two unlabeled black pump bottles. I hate to say it, but I smell greed when I look at how this company operates and where they are pricing their products.

This project feels like another KickStarter idea where the product takes forever to arrive, shipping is delayed over and over, and in the end you are disappointed. A light bulb finally goes off and you say to yourself, "Ah ha! I see why no bank or credit company underwrote this project." Not quite ready for prime time.

I honestly do not understand all the four and five star reviews. This is not a five star product at its current price point. The people claiming they were "blown away" by the quality, or Kudos! -- you have to wonder whether those are real reviews or whether the persons submitting the review have any sense of quality. Just look at the app and tell me again how it could possibly blow anyone away.

If you order one, come back and visit this review. I was right, wasn't I? So where are all those five star reviews coming from? Girls Summer Coding Camp?

Love my Auk Mini 2. Im ready to buy another!

The product works great! My tomato plants are growing like crazy and I can’t wait to enjoy them!!

So far, it has been a good experience, but I just planted my first seeds a little over a week ago. Everything has sprouted and is growing. A few things that I would prefer were changed: 1) the herb seed packets are enough for two pod, but I would have liked each packet to be enough for a single pod so I know I'm putting the right amount in. 2) the poles for the light seem short for the height of herb growth I'm used to. Otherwise, it was easy to set up and get started!

This is our second Auk and it is nice to see the company continues on the right path. Great product design, with advances between generations. Having a new light source with multiple modes being controlled by the phone app is great. The new design came with different pods and rods for us to grow different plants, from Peppers to Greens and everything in between. We had questions about the new light and the customer service team was amicable and professional. Keep going guys. Great design, great quality and super people.

I've used the AUK 2 for almost two months, and it's the most elegantly simple hydroponic system I've owned. Setup was easy, it runs silently, and the yield is high.

What sets it apart is that ease, plus not being tied to proprietary seed pods.

The looks matter more than I expected. The design is organic and friendly, and fits well in my space. Watching the herbs come in healthy is a calm, satisfying part of my day.

One thing to watch: my herbs grew taller and faster than expected, and the basil got a bit leggy. Lowering the light early on would likely have prevented that.

Love my grow garden! It is on my desk in my office and adds green to my day. I absolutely love it and it is the perfect gift for someone who misses their herbs in the winter.

The Auk 2 is a great for growing your own herbs. No more guessing if the supermarket will have the herbs you need! Assembly and instructions were easy to follow. Overall, I highly recommend it.

I love, love, love my Aux mini 2 ! My herbs are growing like weeds ! I'm harvesting and drying them every week . Worth every penny

Love the updated design, unboxing and setup were a breeze. I really enjoy the minimal oversight that is required on a daily basis. We monitor the water level and fill when the gauge gets low. We have completed our first harvest of our herbs. Looking forward to enjoying fresh produce during the winter months.

Setup is easy and the product looks great and fits perfectly in my pantry. The herbs grow quickly and are very plentiful. Customer support is extremely responsive and Auk continues to send helpful tips during your ownership experience from growing tips to recipes. Overall, the Auk experience has been amazing.

This thing works almost TOO well. We’re constantly trying to give extra herbs away to friends and family. It grows super quick! Very low maintenance and tasty herbs. Very pleased with the planter.

Everything is going very smoothly so far. I have a tomato plant growing and a pepper plant growing and they look very healthy.

I was an early adopter of Auk, having used the older model for many years. When I saw the new model I immediately ordered it and I love the new design. I'm currently growing Dill, Arugula, Basil and Cilantro. Same great quality. I also appreciate the tips your guys send out. I made the herb butter after the herbs went crazy while I was on vacation for 2 weeks!

Extremely easy to setup and maintain. Easy, fast growing and very satisfying to harvest and eat. The quality of the product is top notch.

Product is good, support not so much. I purchased the Asian seed kit, which I never received. The company emailed to say they provided a substitution so that everything would ship at the same time. Unfortunately, it was seeds I had no interest in. I was advised that I could reach out if this was unsatisfactory; which I attempted to do 5 separate times, as the contact info that was provided was invalid. Oh, I should also mention that not everything in the order arrived at the same time anyway. Very frustrating.
Also, the mint seeds didn’t produce, I’m still waiting. This was disappointing since I was looking forward to the mint the most.
I splurged and purchased the tomato kit as well, I’m not confident it was money well spent. There may be more affordable options that produce the same results. However, it does look nice on my kitchen counter. If it was affordable, I’d want another one. Not realistic.

Great, eco-friendly packaging and such a beautiful product. No motor in the design means no annoying noises or places for new roots to get tangled. I was surprised how quickly the tomato plant germinated, and excited when the chilis finally caught up. Really excited to be able to harvest in a few weeks, and looking forward to the next plants I can put in here!
