Almost perfect
Sarebbe perfetto se il bagaglio della macchinq si potesse chiudere. Quando rititato la macchina il ragazzo ci ha solo dato le chiavi senza fatla vedere e notare tutte le imperfezioni che erano visibili da fuori. Per fortuna, non abbiamo avuto nessun tipo di problema così la nostra esperienza tutto sommato era molto buona

Très mauvaise expérience
Après avoir rendu le véhicule et récupéré intégralement notre dépôt de garantie, l’agence a tenté plusieurs mois plus tard de prélever 130 € sans aucune information préalable.
Aucune explication, aucun email, aucun appel. La somme a finalement été débitée des mois après la fin de la location.
Leur service client a répondu très tardivement et sans répondre réellement au problème.
Pratiques inacceptables et manque total de transparence. Je déconseille fortement cette agence.

Lo sblocco del deposito cauzionale al termine del noleggio non preclude la possibilità di un successivo addebito, qualora emergano elementi verificabili dopo la riconsegna del veicolo. Tale procedura è espressamente prevista dal contratto di noleggio accettato al momento del ritiro.
Eventuali addebiti vengono effettuati esclusivamente a seguito di verifiche interne e nel rispetto delle condizioni contrattuali.
Respingeremo con fermezza accuse di pratiche scorrette o di mancanza di trasparenza, poiché Autovia opera secondo procedure definite e nel rispetto delle normative vigenti.

Unjustified damage charge despite clear video evidence
I rented a car from Autovia in July 2025 (vehicle GY019YW). Almost two months after returning the car and after my deposit had already been released, I was suddenly charged €483.54 for a “new scratch”.
I immediately disputed the claim and provided clear video evidence recorded at pick-up, showing that the same scratch was already present before the rental started. The video is timestamped and unedited. I also sent screenshots and the full file, exactly as requested by their Customer Care for technical verification.
Despite this, Autovia simply replied with a generic message referring to the “existing damage box” and ignored the video proof. They claimed the damage was “due” and later withdrew the money from my card anyway, without properly analyzing the evidence or providing any technical report.
Key issues:
The damage was pre-existing and documented on video at pick-up.
The notification came almost two months after drop-off.
The deposit had already been released.
The scratch is minor and superficial.
They stopped responding after I sent the full video and formal dispute.
This looks like an abusive and unfair practice. I am now forced to start a chargeback with my bank and escalate the case to ECC and Italian consumer authorities.
I strongly advise anyone renting from Autovia to film the car in detail and be prepared for potential unjustified post-rental charges.

we have reviewed your comment and would like to provide some clarifications.
Damage claims are handled only following internal checks and in accordance with standardized procedures set out in the rental agreement. When an issue identified at return or afterward cannot be clearly matched to damage formally recorded at check-out, a damage assessment case is opened.
Customer disputes, including video and photographic evidence, are reviewed by the relevant department. Any charge is applied only if, following technical verification, the damage is deemed chargeable under the rental terms and conditions accepted at pick-up.
The release of the security deposit does not exclude the possibility of a later charge, as expressly stated in the rental agreement, should elements emerge after vehicle return.
We firmly reject accusations of abusive or unfair practices. Autovia operates in full compliance with contractual procedures and applicable regulations.

I closed a deal with them through Discovercar and paid almost half the amount in advance
I got to the counter and showed him that I only had to pay another 74 euros, but he wasn't even willing to see the forms and charged me 240 euros
I asked why this charge
He said that 100 dollars was a security deposit that would be returned to me and the rest was the cost of the rental, which is really not what was closed, and he also charged me for additional insurance that I had already paid for in the deal
In short, they didn't return the security deposit and charged me 40 percent more than was necessary
I contacted them by email and they didn't even get back to me with a return email
Beware of this company
I will never rent a car from them again

For bookings made through intermediaries such as DiscoverCars, all advance payments, insurance products and related conditions are managed exclusively by the platform. At the rental desk, the contract is activated according to Autovia’s terms, which may include a security deposit pre-authorization and payment of the rental balance.
Insurance purchased through third-party platforms does not replace the guarantees required by the rental company. Any additional protection offered at the desk is optional and intended solely to reduce the customer’s financial liability.
The security deposit is not charged, but only pre-authorized on the credit card. The release timing depends on the bank and is outside the rental company’s control.
We firmly reject accusations or defamatory statements. Autovia operates in full compliance with contractual terms and applicable regulations.

Great car rental service and great car. Minor comment is that some marks were already there on the car but only listed once I returned the car. This said their service is exceptional, fast and customer friendly. Full insurance is a must in my opinion.
