When things got tricky and our purchase was in danger of faltering Helen stepped in and saved the day convincing the vendor of the best way forward.

I had a disappointing experience with this estate agent. After waiting over 5 months for the vendor to provide a building certificate requested by my lender, they withdrew as soon as I began the process of arranging inspections to be carried out. The boiler hadn’t been serviced in years, despite the negotiator, Jack, assuring me during the viewing that it was 'regularly serviced.' My buyer’s report recommended I conduct checks, as the only boiler record was from 2010—back when I was still in secondary school!

Once the report was provided to me end of August 2024, I immediately worked to get the inspections booked in with the agent. I was informed that the vendor was unhappy as I had my mortgage offer since end of July 2024. I informed the agents that my conveyancer has completed their due diligence and strongly advised I get these inspections done before exchange. Exchange which I was positive would be set to take place by latest end of September pending the inspections all coming back clear. When I raised this, Joe, the managing director, remarked, 'Your conveyancer should have advised you to do this check sooner,' which came across as both unprofessional and condescending. To top it off, the vendor has now relisted the property with a £35k price increase. The behaviour from both the vendor and the agent felt like pure intimidation and bullying.

Helen in the sales progression team was excellent (So was Sydney when Helen was not around!)!

I would say I'm pretty demanding but she was great, I really felt she was on my side, helping push through my purchase. She has bags of knowledge and sympathy, would definitely use her again!

However, don't go anywhere near Dan at Tolhurst Fisher... lazy, inefficient, informative, useless! Helen did great dealing with this though!

The whole team was very helpful. A great shout out to Ronan for photos and help. Zoe was the greatest help not only for the sale aspect but even to help us in our next property purchase. Again thanks guys.

I can finally share my honest opinion about this estate agent. I started the process of trying to get a place and although this company was begging me though I was looking at other places whilst I was in the process and they kept messaging me in the process of me looking and I ended up going with themwhilst I was in the process with them I noticed the most unprofessional behaviours in the whole time of my life and it was very a traumatic experience. These people are not supportive. If you want to work with an estate agent that’s going to be someone that is supporting the process for you. The people that will put you at ease because you really need people that will put you at ease. It’s not a joke. Get a house you’re spending a lot of money lots of money going left right and centre so you need people to give you peace of mind in this life. Whilst I was in the process with them. I noticed the most unprofessional behaviours in the whole time of my life and it was very a traumatic experience these people are not supportive. If you wanna work with an essay agent that’s going to be someone that is supporting the process for you. Please do not choose them from the managing director who owns a company and sure he has enough experience he does say a lot of things that are not even the honest truth you need to really do your research like let your lawyer coach you because they will be the people supporting you. All I’m going to say is that they made my process a living hell they’re not welcoming even on a day. I collect my key. Did I get my champagne? No, . a process that is meant to be so joyous to you because you spent your harder money to get a house in your name is something they turned into a headache to me. I couldn’t even be happy after all they put me through but God is bigger. A whole managing director Screaming, telling me to pull out , when it was getting Long winded, rude I will just never ever forget the experience but I’m very thankful that it’s done but I just need to make people aware for future

Staff are so helpful, and one lady in particular, went out of her way, every day, to push our sale and purchase. Her name is Helen, and she has been my Angel. When I have been frustrated with it all, she has had kind words, for me. We are so very grateful we chose Bear Estate Agents.

I have just completed on the sale of my family home, to say I am happy with what Bear have done for me is an under statement.

I first met Roman, the branch manager. A young man with a wealth of knowledge and great ideas. I had four valuations. Roman gave me more information than the other three valuations I received put together. His photos and brochure he created was impeccable.

Tia and Jacob kept me up to date with my viewings and feedback along the sales journey. I was always in the know and secured me a price I was very happy with.

Zoe progressed the sale to a satisfactory completion, keeping me up to date during the business end of this transaction.

For me personally, this was a difficult time. However, Bear of Hockley were simply sensational and made the move a lot easier for me of which I cannot thank them enough.

So helpful you deal with the same person all the time they keep you up to date and phone regularly to keep both parties up to date and the solicitors and chase for you if there’s any issues. Great job bear so glad l picked you for my sale.

They send endless junk mail (via Homesearch, in Birmingham) even when you tell them your home is no longer for sale.

Bear recently closed the sale on a family property. This had originally been on the market with another estate agent with little interest. The quality of the photos, sales and marketing process and enthusiasm from the team immediately boosted viewings. It wasn't a straightforward journey, but at every hurdle Ricky, Sydney and the team came up with reassuring and practical advice. Their communication is also excellent and I felt throughout they were really invested in not just the sale, but the relationship we formed with them as vendors. Highly recommend and won't hesitate to use their services again in the future.
