BeRent is the most friendly and transparent car rental company I have used in my life
Their honesty and full disclosure of all the extras and what isn't extras was brilliant. For example, they pointed out that the toll box was not mandatory and that I could pay the costs for my trip with my card on the highway, thus saving the cost of this box. Also, there was no hassle or attempt to sell additional insurance. Very smooth digital check-in and check-out.

Satisfait mais avec frais supplémentaires
Globalement, nous avons été satisfaits de notre expérience. Aucun souci n’a été rencontré lors de la restitution du véhicule, tout s’est bien passé de ce côté-là.
En revanche, un point nous a déçus. Nous avions réservé une Volkswagen Polo ou un véhicule similaire. À notre arrivée, on nous a informés qu’il n’y avait plus de véhicule correspondant à notre réservation et qu’il ne restait que des voitures « plus puissantes ». Il nous a été indiqué que si nous voulions un véhicule, nous devions accepter cette catégorie supérieure.
Ce que je trouve regrettable, c’est que nous avons dû payer environ 40 à 50 € supplémentaires pour ce changement, alors que l’erreur ne venait pas de nous mais du fait que le véhicule réservé n’était plus disponible. Un geste commercial aurait été apprécié dans cette situation, puisque nous avions bien respecté notre réservation.
Ne parlant pas portugais, je n’ai pas pu m’exprimer aussi librement que je l’aurais souhaité sur le moment. C’est dommage de devoir supporter des frais supplémentaires lorsqu’un problème est dû à l’organisation de BeRent. Malgré cela, le reste de l’expérience s’est déroulé correctement.

Não recomendo: para esquecer carro avariado que nem era o que eu havia escolhido, péssimo atendimento ao cliente e taxas absurdas
Não recomendo. O carro veio avariado, a apitar durante dias, com um problema no capô que não fechava direito. Nunca consegui alugar o carro escolhido na reserva, sempre outros carros piores que estavam disponíveis no momento da coleta. O aluguer parece barato, mas o seguro caríssimo, é ainda me cobraram 70€ de limpeza por pêlos apenas no tapete direito traseiro. Acaba por ficar muito mais caro por um serviço terrível. Experiência para esquecer. O “barato que sai caro”, péssimo atendimento ao cliente, não sabem fidelizar os clientes e trata-los bem para que queiram voltar. Alugo carros por toda a vida e jamais tive uma experiência como esta.

Verificámos internamente a situação descrita e, relativamente à viatura disponibilizada, esclarecemos que foi entregue uma viatura de categoria superior à inicialmente reservada, sem qualquer custo adicional por essa alteração.
Quanto à situação mencionada na viatura, a mesma foi verificada e não foram identificadas anomalias que condicionassem a sua utilização normal. Ainda assim, lamentamos qualquer incómodo que possa ter sentido durante o aluguer.
Em relação à taxa de limpeza, a mesma foi aplicada pela necessidade de uma limpeza adicional, devido à presença de pelos de animal no interior da viatura.

Simple and hassle-free experience
I had a very positive experience with Berent. From the first contact, the team was always helpful and clear in their communication, which made the whole process very smooth. The vehicle was in excellent condition, clean, and exactly as expected.
I would especially highlight the speed of both pick-up and drop-off, with no unnecessary bureaucracy. There is a genuine care for the customer and attention to detail that really makes a difference.
Without a doubt, a trustworthy company. I will use their services again in the future and highly recommend them.

Avoid this place
The car itself was fine and the location is convenient, but the way this company operates is borderline fraudulent and completely dishonest.
They do not accept debit cards, and on top of that they INVENT extra deposits on the spot. I was forced to pay a €500 deposit for the Via Verde (toll device) with a debit card (€200 if you have a credit card). This condition was NOT stated anywhere during the booking process.
When I pointed this out, the staff member blatantly lied, claiming that this information is shown at the beginning of the booking. It is not. There is absolutely no mention of it.
It gets worse: I explicitly asked the manager whether this deposit would be returned at the moment of car return, and he clearly confirmed that it would. When I came back, they suddenly changed their story and told me I have to wait up to 15 days.
This is unacceptable and extremely unprofessional. Changing conditions, hiding fees, and providing false information is not how a legitimate business should operate.
I expect my money to be returned within the stated timeframe. If not, I will not hesitate to take legal action.
Avoid this place at all costs.
