I’ve invested with Blend on a couple of occasions and it’s never been easy! I’ve been waiting for a loan to come up to invest in and today was the day! I logged in and tried to manually invest but the system kept throwing me out. Apparently their system was working through all those people who had put their funds forward for autoinvest back before 5 Jan. I had done this a week earlier so way after the minimum date. What was more interesting is that within 20 mins of the loan being live there was still 40k of loan available to invest in. Despite many times of trying the system kept throwing me out. No telephone number to contact Blend so googled it. Eventually got through to a ‘daddy’s daughter’ who informed me my autolend hadn’t been placed early enough, ok, but why not tell me my autolend wouldn’t work for another 8 weeks when I turned it on, they only said this in an email YESTERDAY! Apparently I could invest manually as their system was still applying the members autolend investments! Why didn’t it tell me this rather than just repeatedly chucking me out? Maybe they should say manual investments won’t be allowed until xx mins after the loan goes live. Going live should mean just that, available to anyone not just their system if it isn’t, which it certainly wasn’t.
I would also suggest that leaving it to less than 48 hours before the loan goes live to tell small investors they’ve no chance is wrong. I wasn’t told this when I turned my autolend on or when I made a 5th deposit waiting for a loan to come up!
No doubt now there will be a lovely note from one of those know it alls from Blend telling me where I went wrong! I’m withdrawing my money and moving to where I can use it rather than it just sitting there waiting for never never land!

I have tried around 8 different ones over a period of 6 years, going through the ups and downs of various investments and this is hands down the best quality platform, with significant returns and lowest risk involved. Not a single default so far, doesn't mean it will not happen but they are very selective and deals not so frequent, but it the quality that matters. Cannot recommend enough.

Genuinely excellent product with high returns. BLEND makes it all very simple to invest. I appreciated the simplicity of autolend once I got my head around it.

I love Blend for almost everything they do, but there's one thing that's intensely annoying. You have to use AutoLend to invest in multiples of £1,000. When you try to increase your lending, say from £1,000 to £2,000, they force you to switch off AutoLend to make the change, pushing you to the back of the queue and unable to lend for the next few weeks/ months. The only reason investors try to increase their loan amount is to build their money in the platform, so forcing them to be out of the market altogether is guaranteed to annoy. I can't understand why Blend wants to punish their investors for showing greater commitment to their platform.

I’ve been using Blend for a number of years now and the overall returns are good. The site is intuitive, easy to navigate and the team are responsive to emails which is good.
However, you need to manage your cashflow on the site, otherwise you have too much money sitting idly in their accounts. But I can manage that.
You are investing in construction projects which are riddled with issues and delays. I accept that, this is why my investment earns the higher interest. What I really dislike about Blend is their communication when there is a delay. Previously I received emails after a borrower missed their payment date, telling me that they agreed an extension or like in a case from today, I received an email last month telling me that a borrower, who should be repaying today will likely need an extension. There is no mention of how long the extension is going to be. Also it was not followed up with anything. If you need money back at a certain point, I would suggest you do not invest it here.
This might also help them maintain their low default rate, they simply change the terms before a borrower defaults. I can accept that, if it gets me my money back, but if there are delays, I want to know upfront and I want to be compensated for it in all cases - to date only in a few cases have they increased the interest for the borrower.
All in all, a really good product delivered by a great team that only falls short in their communication. I will continue to invest with them, just not money that is earmarked for something else.
