Very professional and perfect sizing made it very easy as a non professional in this area of work to buy a steel beam and delivered in 4 days and even delivered in the am of the date like asked on the delivery not, communication was spot on emailed after purchase with receipt and called 1 hour before delivery .

Efficient and reliable service. The ordering process was straightforward and hassle-free, and the metal beam was delivered promptly as arranged. Highly recommended.

⭐️ Very poor experience — I would not recommend this company.

I ordered 3 steel beams, each 6 metres long and approximately 600 kg, for a construction project. The biggest problem was the delivery. The beams arrived without a HIAB crane or any suitable equipment to unload them, and absolutely nobody informed me beforehand that I would be responsible for arranging the unloading.

For beams of this size and weight, this is a very important piece of information that should have been clearly communicated when placing the order. If I had known in advance, I could have arranged the necessary equipment and avoided the whole situation.

Unfortunately, when the delivery arrived, I had no safe or practical way to unload the beams. As a result, I was forced to send the entire delivery back, which caused unnecessary delays, wasted time and disruption to my work.

What disappointed me the most was the lack of communication and professionalism. When supplying materials of this size and weight, the delivery requirements should be explained clearly to the customer before the order is dispatched — not left until the delivery arrives.

This experience has caused me unnecessary inconvenience and has affected my project schedule. A simple explanation at the time of ordering could have prevented the entire problem.

In my opinion, this is extremely poor customer service. I would strongly recommend anyone considering ordering steel beams from this company to ask very specific questions about the delivery, unloading arrangements and HIAB availability before placing an order.

Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would not use this company again and I cannot recommend them to other customers.

Great service, turned up when they said they would and product as ordered

I only bought this beam from buy a beam because the delivery date was when I was available to be on site all day, It was priced nearly £50 higher than another like for like quote. Didn't turn up. I tried calling both the supplier, just getting an answerphone (no returned call after leaving a message and calling twice) and buy a beam where I got an automated line where after a few minutes of answering questions was told there was no one to speak to and was then cut off. I have no idea if or when it might arrive.

Straight forward online ordering process. Having paid £130 for delivery I expected them to arrive on the specified day, not the day after.

The RSJ arrived 2 days early which was OK and better than late but a little warning would have been helpful.
The RSJ was cut to length exactly and the finish was primed to a good standard.
Definitely recommend.

The service received was excellent and the last minute adaptations were accommodated without any issues. We will certainly use again.

You didn’t send the splice detail to the fabricators you sub contracted the work out to. They delivered the steels with a splice of their choosing which was totally inadequate for purpose and then had to take the beams back. The company, Austin Duvall redid the beams at their own expense and were great about it.

I rang and spoke to Sean. He was very helpful as I’ve never bought a beam before. He did everything he could to make it easy for me and sorted a really early delivery. Couldn’t have been better. The delivery was on time. The gentleman who delivered it was helpful and friendly. Perfect all round.

Difficult to find a local supplier for a small Flitch beam.
Ordered on Bank Holiday Monday and picked up on Friday.
