On the retailer list it states Cafe Nero now being a regular of thos brand on the High Street and shopping centres my card has never worked. Always a balance of more that my spend but not once has a payment gone through. BYond please let me know why you list Cafe Nero but the retailer machine doesn't recognise the card

Every store has a unique number referred to as the Merchant ID. Unfortunately, if we do not have this number provided to us by the retailer, our bYond card will not work as the retailer will come up on the system as unrecognised.
We will always do our best to make sure our systems are up to date, however it is the responsibility of the retailer to let us know their ID numbers.
If we do locate a retailer/store who we partner with where we are missing ID numbers, we do then speak directly with our partner to add these to our records. Very sorry for the inconvenience.

Rubbish
Topped the card up, tried to use it several times. Doesn't work. Either on chip and pin or contact less. Also cannot use it for online purchases. Absolutely baffled.
This was topped up before use with £40, didn't work. Then another £40. Still didn't work. I now have a card with £80 that does not work

Not worth the hassle
Overall poor experience. Iâve had the card a couple of years and the cons outweigh the pros:
- Money canât be taken off the card, you have to spend the cashback you earn at set retailers
- Naturally you top up as and when you need because you canât take money off, but the app is so so bad, crashes continually sometimes making it impossible to check a retailer (but occasionally allows you to top up). If youâre out shopping and want to check a retailer quickly, good luck.
- Poor cashback amounts which beware they donât always pay!! I spent over £2000 at last minute.com, they took the payment as last minute.com is one of their retailers but *didnât pay the £100 cashback* because I didnât use the correct link (which presumably I shouldâve found in the t&câs on the app that crashes every 10 seconds). I only found this out after chasing them repeatedly. Note they wonât accept a transaction if a retailer isnât on their list, but they accepted this and didnât pay the cashback.
- Not available on Apple Pay so always have to remember to carry the card on you (and remember the retailers) which feels silly in this day and age.
- Retailer list looks impressive at first but genuinely only a handful of common stores on there which often have better cashback offers on debit cards
Overall itâs useful for big purchases (if they actually pay you the cashback) otherwise I wouldnât recommend.. the £1-5 earned here and there isnât worth the hassle and inconvenience of the card/company.

Unfortunately, to receive cash back when spending on the card, you need to use the correct links and/or our partner retailers. This is due to meeting the terms and conditions of not only bYond Card, but the partners themselves. If done incorrectly, we are not in the position be able to simply add cash back to your card.
Our App is constantly being updated but we do apologise if you have had any inconsistency when using it. All information can also be found via an our website/online login, which can be accessed by the usual browser on any computer devise. We like to make sure that all information and T's & C's are always crystal clear and visible at all times.
We always in communication with our partnered retailers to make sure we offer the best rebate percentage possible and are constantly adding new partners to the scheme. All current and new partners (plus their specific information) can be found our website and your login.
We do not have digital wallet functionality at the moment, however we will certainly pass along your feedback to the team as an area of opportunity.

Terrible experience⊠that card easy accept your money but if you want to collect it back- have no idea how?! Several times it was impossible to pay in some shops- even I paid there before with same card.. sometimes I paid but from 2-3 time.. Imagine- stayed in a queue- people waited- I I cant make a payment.. cash back- not happening on spot.. they still pending!! Have no penny from that.. strongly do not recommend it for everyone.. find something else.

Regarding the cash back, once you have performed a transaction, we will automatically calculate the cashback you have earned. This will be in a pending status for 30 days, after which it will transition to paid and we will add it to your Vault balance. From there, you decide when and how much you spend by moving it to your card balance. You can see the status of the cashback for each transaction within your Summary view, with detailed information displayed in the expanded summary.

The app is awful. It keeps throwing me out even though Iâve updated the app version. I asked for a partner card, weeks ago and itâs not been posted to our address. Many people at work have advised me to not get the card, due to its many issues.

I don't use the card enough, because it doesn't give the variety of stores that is on other similar platforms (ie Donut) so I tried to close my account, but this going to cost £12 I quote "Please note that if you want to cancel and redeem your available balance, there is a £12.00 fee that will be applied, broken down by a £2.00 account cancellation fee and a £10.00 redemption fee, and this would be deducted from your available balance."

We do clearly include all charges in the terms and conditions you signed up for when registering for the card. The charges are clearly defined in section 16 of the Terms and Conditions under Fees and Charges, where a table of fees is displayed, which you would have read when signing up and confirming acceptance by registering.
The card is designed to be used regularly and allows you to move the cashback earned from purchases to the balance of your card. This allows our customers to earn cashback for purchases they make, which can be used on future purchases and that is why we believe customers will stick with us.

It's not bad, but...
It's handy, except a few things:
- add support to Google wallet - so I don't have to carry it everywhere, just like I don't have to carry most other cards
- Tesco? If a shop is not on the discount list, why is the card declined, instead of simply running the transaction without the cashback?
- Why does the app always start by warning me about having to download the latest version. I already have the latest version. Do I need to check it every time? Or maybe can the app check it for me? Just like all other apps do. I am on an Android phone, Google Pixel 9 Pro, 11 months old with all systems fully updated always, no exception.

First time I used in two different shops Farmfoods and Asda. Card shows 4% base reward for Farmfoods and 3% for Asda when shopping in stores. But at the summary after purchase it shows 0% rate, cashback status paid 0, earnings 0. So I guess no more rewards from these shops and I guess from others as well. At first it showed pending, but now cashback status paid, but unfortunately it is 0 pounds.....

Set up was a faff
Set up was a faff. I stopped partway through because I didnât have the requested information to hand. However my card was still sent out so clearly the information was not actually required. Because I had only been partway through I hadnât checked my inputs and my name was mistyped. I now have a card I canât use. Not sure exactly when so have said 15/10 which will be close enough.
