We had an appalling experience with Drivalia, easyJet’s car hire partner at Edinburgh airport.
Drivalia’s cheap seat belt fitted child seat could not be fitted safely to the car (several were tried). The branch manager agreed it was not safe and agreed to a full refund. We then walked away and went to another car hire place with safe child seats. However, it turned out the manager was not authorised to promise a refund as we booked through EasyJet. We only found this out after following up with Drivalia a week later about the refund. After finally finding out how to contact EasyJet, they refused a refund as a child seat was available, even though it was not safe to use and the branch manager agreed.

I booked a car through EasyJet. The flight was delayed but the car company refused to wait until the arrival (half an hour after normal time). I had to refuse the flight.
Lack of transparency – misleading system regarding French debit cards
I booked a car through easyJet Car Rental and discovered upon arrival that the rental company (Drivalia) would not accept French debit cards for the security deposit.
In France, credit cards are extremely rare — even premium cards like Visa Premier or Gold Mastercard are issued as debit cards. This means most French customers simply cannot meet this requirement.
This essential information was not clearly displayed during the booking process. It was only buried in small-print terms and conditions. As a result, I was unable to collect the car unless I paid more than £250 extra at the counter. I lost the prepaid amount and had to rent another car elsewhere immediately.
Afterwards, I checked the reviews and realised that many French customers have experienced the exact same issue. It feels like a recurring pattern: offer a low price, then block the rental on arrival with an unexpected condition.
easyJet must take responsibility as the booking platform:
either stop listing rental partners whose practices are incompatible with the French market,
or clearly highlight essential conditions during the booking process.
As it stands, the experience is misleading and costly. I strongly advise caution when booking a car through easyJet unless all hidden conditions are checked extremely carefully.

Véhicule louer et payer via internet Je vois les horaires d agence qui ferme à 21h et mon vol atterri à 21h 15. J appel pour demander comment ça ce passe en vu de changer d agence de location, le monsieur au téléphone m assure qu’il n’y a aucun soucis, qu’ils ont vu sur mon vol et que pour 15 min il y a quelqu’un qui m attendra! Mon avion atterri avec 35 min d avance. J arrive devant le comptoir. Fermer et toute lumière éteinte!!!! Aucun moyen de les avoir au téléphone! J’ai du louer une véhicule à coter. Donc double frais!!!! Depuis le 14 novembre on me dis qu’il n’y aura pas de remboursement parce que mon avion et arriver à 21h15 et il ferme à 21h. Mais c quelqu’un de chez eux qui me dis qu’il m attend!!!! Bref agence à fuir, pire que honteux!!!!! J espère qu’ils vont couler à force d arnaquer les gens!
Double charged for insurance
We chose to use easyJet because in the past we have been stung by having to pay additional insurance once we reach location. EasyJet sold us premium insurance in the UK to avoid us having to pay additional once abroad. They reassured us many times that we would have premium insurance included in the car hire along with subsequent emails confirming we would not need to pay for additional insurance once abroad. This was not the case and we had to pay an additional £500 Almost the same as the car hire charge itself and now they refuse to refund.
Check the time easy jet gives you, terrible
You book a flight to Bristol arriving 11pm and they book you a car for pick up the next day at 7am as the small unknown rental company off the airport is only open till 8pm. Then the drop off time is 8 hours before you flight, you get a time to check you hire car rental in email 10 minutes after the free cancellation and it is then you discover that easy jet doesn’t book you a car with times that suit your flight arrival and departure and you are charged a€100 cancellation charge.

No surprises here with the other reviews. Booked a car through EasyJet a few weeks back, turned up to the rental place with all the relevant details and they refused to give us the car (due to accidentally getting the wrong card out first). Service agent was dismissive and hostile and I had to pay for another car with a different agent at the airport. EasyJet have refused to give me my money back despite no product being given! No evidence as to why they’re withholding. No need to say much more other than read the reviews and do accordingly…

DO NOT take a car through easyjet. Such a terrible service. I hired a car paying extra for insurance. I even called to check that this covered everything so that there were no nasty surprises. I arrived and the hire company to be told that the insurance wasn't worth anything and proposed such an expensive alternative. I asked for a refund on the original price to cancel but because the booking was through easyjet they couldnt refund me and easyjet were uncontactable. The hire company spent 30 minutes trying to get through. I cant afford to pursue this as in past experience it is hours of wasted time to get no where. I cant believe they get away with this.
The worst experience ever
If I could, I would put 0 stars. The car company charged me with 120€ (non refundable) although I pay easyJet extra for the full cover, the car rental company demand to pay there full coverage. Also they charge me with 500€ for deposit at my card and that said that they will return the money after 3 weeks. 4 weeks now and the money still are not back to my bank account. THE WORST CAR RENTAL COMPANY EVER. DO NOT BOOK WITH EASYJET CAR RENTAL.
I rented a car from Goldcar via easyjet…
I rented a car from Goldcar via easyjet car rentals for 30 days, in April/May this year. Paid in advance but on collection of the car at 6:00 pm i was told by the Goldcar representative that they only do rentals for 28 days. They said they were happy to cancel the rental and refund my money or i could take it up with EasyJet. Long story short 5 months later EasyJet are still investigating and no refund forthcoming on what should be straightforward. So a lose double don’t use easyJet car rentals don’t use Goldcar!

Notre réservation a été annulée sans notre accord et sans nous prévenir. L'hôtesse d'accueil de l'agence de location (qui elle n'était pas affiliée à EasyJet, ce qui explique donc certainement sa grande gentillesse) nous a expliqué que ce n'était pas la première fois que des clients passant par EasyJet Car Rental avait eu ce même problème d'annulation.
Si encore le service client était compréhensif, qu'ils s'excusaient et faisaient en sorte de nous aider, cela serait pardonnable. Contactez-les par téléphones si vous souhaitez discuter avec des conseillers imbuvables, et si vous avez besoin d'un peu de calme, contactez les par mail et c'est silence garanti.
Passez votre chemin, les prix attractifs ne sont plus intéressants quand on se retrouve au final sans voiture et sans remboursement. Une honte..

Hired a car through EasyJet in Malaga. As with other reviews, they used a small off-airport company who hard-sell on the damage waiver cover. We didn’t take it because we had the AXA cover from EasyJet and a pile of video of the car (because the car hire company didn’t bother recording any damage themselves and there was lots of it).
Although the AXA policy covers your excess, it doesn’t cover breakdown (just towing after a crash) and it doesn’t cover liability. So IF YOU WANT PERSONAL LIABILITY COVER YOU HAVE TO TAKE THE CAR HIRE COMPANY’s WAIVER PACKAGE TOO. Only saw this when we handed the car back (and went through all the damage videos). Had we had a crash we would have been personally liable for third party injury. And you don’t know this when buying the AXA policy - @FCA is this treating customers fairly?

Trustpilot wouldn`t let me put no stars. On 16/08/2025, I booked a 7-seater vehicle through EasyJet Car Rental, to be provided by Ecovia.
On 21/10/2025, I arrived at Naples Airport and attended the Ecovia desk only to be informed that they did not have such a vehicle, despite our confirmed booking. They were unable to provide us with any similar options. I contacted Easyjet Car Rentals who could not assist with this and could only raise a complaint.
We went to every car rental desk to find out if they could assist us. Sicilybycar came to our rescue with the only available cars, 2 Citroen C3s at a cost of 810 euros. My sister had luckily brought her driving licence and agreed to drive the 2nd vehicle even though she had never driven abroad before.

Il 05/10/2025 abbiamo prenotato e pagato un’auto con easyJet per il nostro volo EJU4227, fidandoci del partner indicato: U-Save Car Rental a Napoli.
Il risultato è stato estremamente negativo: auto diversa da quella pagata, danni preesistenti non registrati e 400 EUR prelevati ingiustamente alla riconsegna con la scusa di un graffio minuscolo.
easyJet dovrebbe verificare la serietà dei propri partner. Abbiamo scelto questo servizio attraverso la vostra piattaforma per fiducia, e siamo rimasti molto delusi.

It was fine, but a bit misleading
I used easyjet car hire, and it was a third party, Green motion, at Bristol airport. This was not disclosed in the booking process. Green Motion is in a different location from the other car hire companies, and I couldn't find a shuttle so had to walk there. Having said that, the service itself was good, car was fine, they blocked £1505 for damage but then unblocked it after a week. No extra charges. I think next time I would just go with Hertz as usual, but I thought I'd try out easy jet car hire to see what it was like, and it was just a 3rd party, so of course if anything had gone wrong, both parties would just point fingers at the other one.

Plein effectué et lavage fait au retour, aucun problème sur la voiture. Suite à une relance, on nous a dit que les documents signés indiquent que l'argent ne sera pas restitué. Je pense que leur définition d'une caution est largement erroné.
Documents en anglais et discours du loueur différents. Nous regrettons notre choix, nous n'utiliserons plus cette prestation d'easy jet.

Les prix proposés n’ont rien à voir avec la réalité, il ne s’agit que de prix d’appel et ils ouvrent la porte à tous les abus possibles.
J’ai réservé une location chez KlasWagen de Lisbonne et ayant déjà une assurance « rachat de franchises » ils voulaient m’ajouter des suppléments comme second chauffeur à 115 E, un nettoyage de voiture à 124 E, etc….
Le prix arrivait à plus 1000% de plus que celui de la réservation. Je n’ai pas pris la voiture et 2 semaines après je ne suis toujours pas remboursé

Le louer Del Paso tente de me forcer à prendre leur assurance alors que j'en ai déjà une. Ils prétextent que ma carte de crédit n'a plus que 4 mois de validité pour me refuser la voiture, par contre il n'y aurait pas de problème si je souscris à leur assurance....?
Il n'y a rien à ce sujet dans la documentation d'Easy Jet...
J'ai refusé de me soumettre à leur chantage et n'ai pas eu la voiture. J'ai ensuite déposé une réclamation auprès d'Easy Jet avec qui j'avais fait la location mais ils refusent d'entrer en matière et donc je perds le montant de la location et de l'assurance supplémentaire que j'avais conclue....
