My elderly parents ordered a £109.99 floor-standing magnifying lamp to help my father read. Casa Matto instead sent an ordinary desk lamp with no magnifier.
They have repeatedly acknowledged in writing that the wrong item was supplied, then later claimed it was the correct item, then offered a replacement, then failed to provide tracking. They have also repeatedly pushed partial refunds/store credit instead of resolving the problem, and even issued an unsolicited £33 partial refund after we had explicitly rejected that option.
They also wanted us to pay to return the incorrect item to China, despite their own published policy stating that incorrect products can be returned at no cost to the customer.
After weeks of correspondence, we still have neither the product ordered nor a full refund.
Based on our experience, I would strongly advise extreme caution before buying from this company.

Easy website to use and found the item very quickly.

I placed my order on 24 August and have had to chase Casa Matto constantly ever since.

The original parcel was never delivered to me. Tracking shows that it was returned to the original depot on 10 September. I contacted Casa Matto again on 15 September and explicitly confirmed on 16 September that I wanted a refund. Had I not checked, I would have been sat here wondering and waiting.

Instead of refunding me, they created and dispatched another order that I had never requested or authorised. They then claimed that the replacement could not be cancelled because it had already been shipped, as though their decision to ignore my refund request and reorder the item was somehow my responsibility. And didn’t offer me an explanation as to what even happened to the order.

After weeks of appalling communication, someone signing their emails as “Sam | Customer Support” has now informed me that Casa Matto will deduct 25% from my refund under their returns policy. A 25% deduction for an order I never received, followed by a replacement I never asked for.

The replies from “Sam” have been generic, repetitive and entirely disconnected from the documented history of the order. Whether “Sam” is an individual employee or simply the name attached to a shared customer-service inbox, I cannot say. What I can say is that nobody appears willing to read the correspondence, accept responsibility or resolve the problem properly.

This is not merely poor customer service. Casa Matto created the problem, ignored my clear instructions and is now attempting to make me pay for its own errors. I will be pursuing the full amount through my bank.

Avoid this company unless you are prepared to spend weeks chasing your order and then fighting to recover your own money.
