Ignorant, Negligent, or Scum
If you go to the location on Park Ave in Memphis, you are not in good hands.
I brought my phone in when its side button stopped responding to presses/clicks. They told me the button needed to be replaced and charged me about $100 for the repair. When I got it back, I quickly noticed that the button, which also has touch-sensitive functionality, was no longer responding to swipes up and down, which had always worked fine. I returned it so they could fix this new problem. After hearing nothing for about six days, I called them. The swiping wasn't working, they said, because the replacement button they installed did not have that functionality. They said they couldn't find a proper replacement button, so they used one that worked halfway. At no point during the repair process was I told that I would lose this functionality and that they were not fully repairing my phone. Had I known this beforehand, I absolutely would have looked for a shop that could fully fix my device or considered putting my $100 towards a new phone. If they knew their replacement wasn't fully functional and didn't tell me before accepting my money, that's a scam. If they didn't know until after I pointed it out, they are too ignorant to be repairing devices. Either way, forget these guys.
Only cares about money not his customers
Cliff notes version
Owner is a jerk who only cares about money not his customers.
I got my screen ârepairedâ about a week ago and it somehow developed a minor crack two days later. I didnât drop it, squeeze it or do anything that would normally cause a crack. I read the warranty and it said it doesnât cover physical damage. Since it was literally two days later I figured there was good chance that theyâd fix it out of good faith. I called and asked about it and was told I could get a measly $10 off a whole new repair($215 after tax). I went today in person to ask again. The owner rudely told me the same thing.
I politely walked away and waited for customers to show up so I could explain to them that they should use a different location because the owner of this one is just an ass. Some customers did come by and I waited for them to leave the store to talk to them(you pay after).
The owner followed me out there and asked if I had a problem with him, obviously I did. He proceeded to argue with me in front of the customers and capped off the conversation by telling me heâd call the police(again I was outside).
The police did show up and were very understanding and respectful. They understood that the owner was just being a jerk but they did have to give me a notice of trespass, as they should have and I figured they would. I talked to them about where I was allowed to be and the owner was hearing this. He said heâd call the property manager and have her trespass me from the whole strip mall.
Weâll see how it plays out but the point of this is just to say if you are considering doing business with this guy just donât. If you want to use CPR there are two other franchises very close(the Arboretum and Indian Trail locations).
Very rude, unprofessional, and entitled!!!
***PLEASE READ FULLY***I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! Very unprofessional, entitled, and rude. I brought an iPad 8 in to get fixed. When it was time to pick it up Rachel ( the ownerâs daughter) hands it to me and says they replaced the home button free of charge and there was a lot of candy inside the screen. I said ok thanks. As Iâm standing there I start checking the other functions of the iPad. I noticed that the power button doesnât work so I asked Rachel about this. She says oh it wasnât working when you brought it in. I tell her I was not aware of that. She goes to the back and spoke to Jake the technician about it. I overheard him telling her that the volume down button doesnât work either. At that point, I tried to press the volume button and notice that it is completely stuck. At this point, they were going to let me walk out without telling me my power button and volume button did not work. The only thing Rachel mentioned was the home button then tried to upsell for a screen protectorâŠ.After spending $281 in total with them and based off of good customer service expectations, I feel like they should have let me know about every issue they encountered. After asking them, how am I going to turn the iPad on and off? They get frustrated. After going back-and-forth, expressing my frustration and confusion on how these 2 important functions no longer work. Jake suggests I get a $20 refund of which Rachel later says donât give it to her because we didnât test it before she came in. At this point, several minutes have passed and I am waiting on the refund while doing research on how I am going to power this iPad on and off without The power button. I tell him âgoogle is saying the iPad doesnât automatically come on when plugging it in if you shut it off firstâ. Jake gets frustrated, picks up my iPad, rudely powers it off, plug it in and then slams it on the counter and says âitâs back on.â. At that point, Of course I tell him âdonât slam my property back down like thatâ. ( I mean it just got fixed, was he trying to break it again??). He continues being rude and says I can just take it back and replace the broken screen. Excuse me?? I just paid $281 in total here for a iPhone and iPad repair. And I did not even consent to you doing anything else to MY iPad that has been fully paid for at this point. Rachel nor Jake apologized or showed any remorse or mere concern for my dismay at the broken power button and volume button they were not going to tell me aboutâŠ.. finally after waiting several minutes Jake rudely hands me $20. I say thank you. I asked if he was the manager and he says âIâm the assistantâ. I say okay, âwhatâs your nameâ he gives me his name with a worried look. I then ask Rachel for her name. She tells me, then says âyou can write the google reviewâ. I say Iâm going to do that and call back and tell the supervisor about my experience. She then gets angry and yells at me âDONT COME BACK. WE DONâT WANT YOUR BUSINESS HERE. IM THE OWNERâS DAUGHTER.â In front of two other customers⊠if you want half done repairs, spoiled and entitled representatives, and a bad experience then this is the perfect placeâŠ. ððœððœððœ
We received awesome service!!
We received awesome service!!! We have an autistic son that broke the charge cord in the charge port on his favorite iPad. He would not eat or drink because of it. When we explained the situation, they were extremely understanding and helpful. They even gave a discounted rate and had it fixed within an hour. It was a life saver for us. The service representative was very understanding and compassionate, he dropped everything to get it done right away even though he was very busy. Highly recommend!! We went to the repair shop on Columbia Avenue in Lancaster.
Wonderful service!
Wonderful service! I was out within 10 minutes, my problem was solved, and they didnât even charge me. Iâve gone here a couple times now- always exceptional.ð
If only I could give zero stars
If only I could give zero stars. Don't fall for the "free" worldwide screen replacement scam. The person who mis-sold this to my husband didn't mention that they aren't worldwide, and the new screen is not free. Newsflash - having to send your phone to another continent to have the screen replaced is not worldwide nor even realistic!
Sold a screen protector but didn't put it on...now I have a cracked screen
I had a new screen installed and at the time they sold me a screen protector and would install it when they installed the new screen. About three months later I noticed the right top edge was cracked and I went back in to ask them to warranty my ZAGG screen protector. The service guy told me that I didn't have a screen protector on my phone. I told them that that was supposed to be done when the screen was replaced. They looked in their computer at my records and confirmed that it was. I asked them to replace my screen and they "supposedly" called the owner, but they said they couldn't do that. Neither did they offer to put a screen protector on my phone since I had paid for one. I have tried on two other occasions to get them to at least do something but they have not.
Excellent service
A few weeks ago, Cesarwent to considerable lengths to try to get my phone to work. He would not take anything for his trouble. Both he and Francisco, who gave me directions over the phone were very friendly, courteous, and helpful.
I found CPR Phone Repair through ZaggâŠ
I found CPR Phone Repair through Zagg as they appear to be who you go to for local Zagg warranty repairs.
Problem is the one I physically went to had their lights on but the inside looked as if they are packing up. Walls were bare with card board boxes laying around the store (What I could see through the glass).
I called the number on door (VM), txted as they suggested for a âfaster responseâ, and sent them an email. No response.
I did the same for 2 other local locations with the same result. I decided to call CPR HQ also with negative results.
Their social media seems normal but Iâm starting to think they went out of business.
If they havenât now, with CS like this, they will soon.
Integrity
Integrity! I thought I broke my screen and CPR found I just broke my screen protector. The store could have charged me $79 for a new screen and I would never had known the difference! Instead he told me the truth and told me to have a nice day! Tell your friends!
Inexperienced, awful service. I wouldn't go back there, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
We brought in our iPad on 12/04/2023 for a messed up screen. They fixed it and it looked brand new by the end of the day. A few days later, we noticed a tiny crack on the screen protector and the iPad was lagging. We took off the screen protector and found that the crack was actually on the iPad screen itself. We went back to the store on Monday, but they refused to fix it under warranty, claiming it was from a drop. We asked if they inspect the entire iPad before returning it, but they don't have a checklist. The manager insisted on us paying for the repairs again, even though he fixed it himself and was training to know all the positions, a real tech didn't fix the device.
Very Rude
Very Rude, with a terrible attitude. He stated false claims on the info his receipt would contain. He was also not willing to work with a third party (a simple phone call) that I purchased Insurance through for repair reimbursement. I would give him ZERO stars if possible.
I took my phone to CPR Cell PhoneâŠ
I took my phone to CPR Cell Phone Repair in Florence, Kentucky on 9/12/23, the day before I flew abroad. My screen was cracked and they were able to fix it within an hour. The phone worked up to about 24 hours, but then the screen went black with a fragmented blue line. I emailed them right away (no response) and called from Belgium because I was in a panic being in a foreign country with no phone. Luckily, my husband flew over a few days later and purchased me one. I needed it for business. The phone had been on me the entire time. I was in Delta One on the plane so no crowding there and my purse had a pocket slot for the phone which was in my lap the entire time or overhead bin with no other bags. There was no way I could've damaged that phone. I took it in to get it repaired under the warranty, but they said there was a surface fracture/crack along the side that looked like pressure had been applied. That invalidated the warranty. I received a lecture by the manager with an offer of reducing my cost by 30.00 to have a new screen put on. I had already paid 147.34 for a phone that worked less than 24 hours and they wanted me to pay another 100! He was a bit condescending and said these things just don't happen on their own. I left very unsettled. Another manager reached out named Brett from Texas to follow-up and was nice, but he could only offer the same deal. He said he would lose money and that I basically would've had to of damaged it. Now, I had this cell phone 3 years prior and never had an issue until I sent to get the screen fixed the first time. So, I highly doubt in 24hrs I would've damaged the new screen. They should of had a screen protector or offered one anyway. So, the manager Brett went on to say it's not like Gremlins got a hold of your phone and damaged it. Ok, this is someone who claims he's been doing customer service for 10 years and he speaks to me like this? Come on, lack of professionalism all around. As for the cost to him? Honestly, it will cost them more to lose not only my future business, but that of my family and friends and social media/business contacts. This should've been covered as a good faith gesture because in reality, it's highly unlikely someone would just have a new screen put on and damage it in less than 24 hours! I will continue to share my experience on every site possible in hopes they don't do this to anyone else. They made me feel like the person responsible and failed to take any possible blame. I received arrogance and condescending references from both. They said they would send me a picture after my phone was repaired to compare it with what I took in. Really? Well, they didn't. The workers, aside from the manager in Florence were nice and cordial, but he was an arrogant jerk about it and Brett in Texas, when I wouldn't take him up on his offer accused me of being condescending because I agreed to disagree. The worst company I've dealt with in my 59 years!
My phone was taken here for a newâŠscreen as the old one was smashed
My phone was taken here for a new screen, after 2 days the entire screen came off, took it back only for the owner (who also owns a vape shop in Coleraine) told me he wasn't fixing it, I told him we don't like getting scammed only for him to laugh in my face, he also implied northern Irish ppl are stupid. Do not go here, they use cheap knock off screens. When I took the phone elsewhere they showed me the stamp on the screen which proved it was a cheap screen. Do not go here and do not go near their vape shop either as I sure u will be met with the same attitude
Highly Recommend!
The store on Marshall Street in Syracuse, NY, is wonderful! I have gone there for iPads and laptops and they communicate well, are fast, affordable, and very fair!
Gardendale Alabama location
Gardendale Alabama location. Phone was locked from too many wrong password entries. They said they could unlock it and pick it up the next morning. I was charged $50 at that time. The next morning they handed it back just as I left it with them. They claimed it couldnât be unlocked and wouldnât give me a refund. I took it home and did a little research. After a couple of hours, with the help of my laptop I had it working perfectly. I went back to tell them I fixed what they said couldnât be done and asked for my money back. Again they refused. Seems to me they took my money, did nothing and gave it back. Donât use this company
Troy was very helpful
Troy was very helpful. He has a great attitude when I entered the store. Everyone should come to this store because you wonât get better service
Stay away. Not Trust worthy.
Had a terrible experience with CPR in Roanoke, VA that cost me $210 for a phone thatâs still doesnât work.
BUYER BEWAREâŠ. Hereâs the story.
I turned the phone over to them with full transparency that the phone had a cracked screen and that the phone gave us a warning that there was water damage. This was middle to late December. I was told it was not a problem and that they could fix it for $210. A little skeptical I asked the employee if that was for a full fix, a fully functioning phone? He replied âYesâ. Okay no problem. I drop the phone off and they fix the screen and tell me itâs done. I pick it up and turn it on and it starts boot looping every 30 seconds. We had not had this problem before. The phone eventually gives me an error during one of the boot loops saying the screen in not a genuine iPhone part. We click okay and nothing happens but Iâd does continue to boot loop. So we take it back to CPR the following day as the phones still doesnât function. After a MONTH of them having the phone with no progress we decide it is time we must take the phone back and take a different action, that CPR bit off more than they could chew and made a promise to provide a fully functioning phone when they could not. I was offered to take the new screen off and be charged $40 for labor OR keep the screen and pay the full $210 even though the phone still did not function. Employee then has the audacity to tell me we only brought it in for a screen. No, we told you it also had water damage. Lol then why keep it and continue to work on it for a month with no results. WellâŠ. itâs because he knows it was part of the original dealâŠa fully functional phone. So I make a choice and tell CPR to take off the new screen because it makes no sense to put a new screen on a broken phone and put my screen (the original cracked screen) back on it. Ill pay the $40 for time and labor. ThenâŠ.. they say we canât put your screen back on we threw your screen away. We donât have it anymore. So Iâm stuck with a $210 screen or just no screen whatsoever, lol thatâs crazy. Okay okay⊠I am a reasonable guy. I tell the guy look give me a discount on the screen of $50 a lot has transpired and you did do work on it. Reasonable thing to do. Nope, and starts up with how much time he put into it but yet he never had any updates on the phone other than we still donât know whatâs wrong with it. Look, people donât pay businesses for them to give it the âold college tryâ here. We pay for completed work. Could you imagine if a roofer showed up to put shingles on your house and starts telling you he canât finish because he doesnât know how and still charges you caused he tried really hard. Thatâs insane right? I bit the bullet and said keep the money, and they were happy to do it, and so here we are. I have to be that guy that writes a crap review for some crap company. I donât write reviews hardly for anything unless itâs outstanding or just absolutely horrid. Unfortunately itâs the latter in this case. BE VERY WEARY OF THIS COMPANY. I will avoid them from here on out for sure. If for some reason you deal with them anyway. DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM BY WORD OF MOUTH, GET EVERYTHING DOCUMENTED. They will take advantage of you. Your best bet is to steer clear completely.
DOESN'T BACK WARRANTY
Puchased screen saver a couple months ago for about $50. Was told it was it had life time replacement cost for about $10. Broke the screen and had it replaced. Went to get another screen protector and was refused because it was removed by the company that replace the screen. Had my receipt. Sales person said he needed the old one to send in. All new news to me. Manager would even talk to me. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS NILES OHIO STORE. SCAMMERS. STOLE $50 FROM ME.
