The cqc were generous with an overall "inadequate".

Also known as Mediline and Premier (never a good sign). My mother was not only neglected by this company, their behaviour was at times negligent. No meals, no personal care, missed visits, no schedule, visiting for 15 minutes not 30, speaking to my mother like a child, the condition of the house was described by her friend as a hovel. Fridge full of mouldy food, bins overflowing, medication scattered everywhere, trip hazards when my mum is partially sighted, and now has malnutrition, refusing to allow her to reduce visits and rude and dishonest management. For your health and the health of your loved one, steer clear.

Regarding the response below, I've lost count of the number of times I've spoken to them and the council about the problems I've described.

Breech of GDPR for 2 vulnerable
clients, 4 families.
1 family know, they haven't had the decency to let other family know.
We only had them looking after my mom for 2 weeks and it was 2 weeks of chaos.
Carers late, office staff not informing client or family that on day 4 +they had changed the times slots.
Not fulfilling their job role through the care plan.
Missed medication.
Not leaving with mom, even though everything set up fresh in the kitchen.
Request female staff only.
Male staff sent.
Commode left full, not emptied or cleaned.
Member of staff screaming they would not be entering the building because of the dog one evening then extremely rude to mom and family member.
Care plan states little cuddly dog in home, why send a member of staff afraid of a little dog?
Because all the staff was working off someone else's care plan.
Hence member started to walk away and leave mum's home at night time and not for filling her duties.
A few really nice caring staff but the unskilled, no commen sense staff over shadowed the 2 lovely ones.
We gave them 24hrs notice to cancel the care package, 1 for for Breech of private information, 2 the frustration of timings and lack of care and compassion, 3 the office staff not telling the truth. Never got the opportunity to put in our complaint of the care staff.
Found out since they are given 1 day worth of training.
You do not get what your alicated/ promised on the care plan or the allocated amountof time as they are rushing off to next client.
Please be aware that it's a lot of staff leaving 5 star reviews and some clients and family members.
Be very careful, please do your homework before you accept them into the home.
This company did NOT make life any easier.
And covering a breech of private information is appalling.

I recently joined Cera Care as a Field Care Supervisor at the Westminster HomeCare office in South Bucks. The staff have been so warm and welcoming. They have been so help with supporting me in my new role. I was a Senior Domiciliary Carer with my previous company so I fully understand that the carers need support from the office staff and vice versa.
I would like to give a big shout out to Lucy, Lindsey, Nikki and Kerry who have been so supportive and made me feel like we are all one big team.

Life changing and Life giving care for my sister


I cannot speak highly enough of the incredible team at Templar Lodge, led by Ashling Roe who support my sister in her supported living. They have been nothing short of life-changing for her — and an enormous source of reassurance for our whole family.

After my dad passed away, my sister continued living independently for a while, but it became clear that she needed more day-to-day support. Since Vera Care at Templar stepped in, the transformation has been remarkable. She now has truly wrap-around care from a team of nine dedicated, compassionate professionals who pay attention to every detail.

She is the healthiest she has been in years and has lost over two stone in a really positive, supported way. The team look after every aspect of her wellbeing — home-cooked meals, routines, personal care, medical needs, and so much valued 1:1 time with her at home and out in the community.

What makes Templar Lodge exceptional is the way they treat her with such dignity, warmth, and genuine affection. They see the whole person, not just the needs. They create structure, stability, and joy in her everyday life.

For us as a family, they have brought peace of mind that words can’t really express. We know she is safe, happy, cared for, and thriving — and that means everything.

Thank you, Ashling and your team at Templar , for all you do. You are truly extraordinary.

Professional feedback

I have recently been involved in supporting my client to move to alternative supported living accomodation. Templar Lodge was identified as a placement that would be able to meet the needs of my client. I have worked in-partnership with Ashling, some members of the care team and the client’s family to co-ordinate a planned transition and move to Templar Lodge. This was person-centred to my clients needs and the care team at Templar Lodge were able and willing to make any reasonable adjustments required to achieve positive outcomes.
I have conducted several visits to Templar lodge over the last six months, I always feel that the environment is clean, well-maintained, safe , warm, and inviting. This is exactly how a home should be! When visiting the care team are always approachable and have been able to answer any queries held, demonstrating their understanding, knowledge, dedication, and commitment to their role.
Following a review of my client’s adult care and support needs following the move it is clear that the team at Templar Lodge have worked proactively to ensure that all aspects of my client’s needs are met in full and effectively. My clients parents have advised that they are more than happy with the care and support being provided to their daughter and after many years they are now able to take a step back in terms of their role, as they know that her care and support needs are being met so well, by a care team that are proactive and above all care about the well-being of their daughter. My client also appears very happy and settled in her new home, she has been able to start to have positive relationships with her co-tenants and care team and she is undoubtedly is supported to have a good quality of life. I can sincerely say that if I could replicate Templar Lodge, the care team and the care and support provided for all of my clients that I would be a very happy social worker!

Unreliable

I find the carers are wonderful however, the way they’re booked in leaves them no time to travel and they’re often very late. One call I had booked in for 08.20 turned up at 10.20am giving no reason why she was so late!
I do think this is a management issue, no fault of the carers so hopefully they will look at this issue and address it!
You have asked me for more details. I can only say that I get a roster with times of carer’s visits ( sometimes, not always)and it’s rare that they’re there on time. I am told that they’re not given any time to travel between visits. So, if a carer is very late( more than an hour.). I ring the office to see if theyre ok.
Update: carer booked for 6.55 this morning turned up at 9 am 2 hours late. She said the office changed the time. No one told me!

Be Very cautious with this company

My grandmother currently receives care via cera care to support out live in carer and family carers 3 times a day. There had been no issues up until the last 3 months, and now we have issues multiple times a week.
The call times are outside her care plan window consistently, leaving her morning call which should be 8.30 to 9.30, at lunch time.
I have contacted the branch multiple times, explaining these issues are leaving my grandmother sometimes 16 hours plus between the evening and morning call, with no pad changed.
She is bedbound, incontinent, stage 7 dementia, and on end of life with palliative care. We are trying to keep her as comfortable as possible, with as much dignity as we can, yet due to the mess of call times, her health is being affected. I have called the office numerous times, sent emails, been assured this would be sorted, and still today her call is 11.20, which means she wont be clean and sorted until lunchtime. This company's level of care has taken a massive dip in the last few months.
The carers we do have are lovely and great at their job, there just is not enough of them, so they are overstretched at the cost of clients health.
At this end stage, we were not wanting to change care companies as it will just add to the stress, and also leave my grandmother with new faces showing up, which can be extremely distressing, but im not sure how we go forward
My emails are not being acknowledged, phone calls are either ignored or full of false promise, and we are still in the same place
A few occasions now, i have had to step in and do the personal care myself as we simply cannot leave her sat dirty for many hours.
When it was apex prime care things worked. Now it is Cera Care, things are horrendous.
I'd definitely think twice before using this company.

I would like to tell everyone about our wonderful carers not forgetting the very helpful office staff in Widnes Halton, we have had Premier care coming to our home to help my elderly dad they not only come out and carry out their duty's but they are totally dedicated and caring to my dad, (and mum) they have formed such a caring bond with my parents that is so genuine, i am their daughter and i have seen how these lovely carers interact with my parents and it is lovely to see my dad (and mum) look forward to their visits as they are always cheerful and very sensitive to my dads needs it is a pleasure to have them in our home and the carers are just like our family now, i know my dad is in very safe experienced hands and we are very grateful to all of them and we appreciate them very much their care has made my dads life (and mums) so much easier with their help and care we thank all our lovely carers and office workers very much from their daughter.

I have worked with them as a live-in carer for the Glamorgan - Cardiff Branch twice now.

Helen P is an exceptional manager whose kindness, leadership, and dedication go far beyond expectations. She is the kind of manager who gets out of the way so the team can succeed, yet is always there the moment you need her. Whether speaking to you on the phone or in person, she communicates with warmth, calmness, and genuine care. She explains things clearly, guides you in the right direction, and makes you feel supported every step of the way.

Whenever you email her or her team, you can be assured of a quick and helpful response. Even if a team member is in a meeting, they always make sure someone else reaches out to assist you—this reflects the strong, supportive culture she has built.

One moment that truly stands out is when I tried to save money by taking a bus and ended up being dropped on the motorway with my suitcase. Without hesitation, she came looking for me because she didn’t want me to get lost. When she couldn’t find me, she drove to the client’s house to make sure I was safe. That level of care is rare and deeply appreciated.

She has helped me in so many ways—like the time I was struggling to find an affordable ticket to Wales. She simply said, “Leave it with me, I’ll look it up for you,” and she did. She always checks on you, especially during your first days on a new placement, making sure you are settling in. She never fails to remind you, “You have my number—if you need me, don’t hesitate to call.”

She is always available, always supportive, and always ready to help—through emails, calls, or messages, without delay. She cares deeply for both the clients and the carers under her supervision. Her kindness, dedication, and heart for people make her truly deserving of recognition. She is praise-worthy, dependable, and a manager who leads with compassion and integrity.

Cera care Glamorgan-Cardiff branch has been very helpful with my dad John who has had a couple of strokes a few years ago. He gets on very well with all the carers who come to his flat four times a day and make sure he takes his medication and also make him food and tea .

Cera care Glamorgan - Cardiff/Newport care for my wife. Initially it was only sit calls but I always wished that the carers came for all her calls. My wife now has a full care package, the girls that come are friendly, caring, compassionate and always go the extra mile, nothing is too much trouble. We couldn't be without Cera care and would not hesitate to recommend your services. 5 star services.

Rare compassionate care

As a ageing, retired physiotherapist, I am now in need of the care I used to be closely involved in drawing up with carers in many settings, mostly in England though now I am now living in Scotland with multiple complex longterm conditions. From my first encounter with them, Cera rates as one of the very best. Most importantly they are committed to person-centred care which will serve my desire to remain safely at home. I sensed a sincere compassion which is rare today and am deeply grateful I have been assigned to their team of carers.

Glamorgan Cardiff Newport What angels they are


Glamorgan Cardiff Newport What an amazing group of carers. Mum loves them and they love her. From the first time they started coming to mam the care thats given goes far and beyond. The care and the love they give goes a long way with mam. Cant imagine having any othet team of carers.

Amazing carers

Cera care Glamorgan / Cardiff are currently caring for my elderly parents. The level of care and compassion the carers provide is amazing. Nothing is too much trouble and they always go above and beyond to ensure my parents needs are always met. I cannot thank them enough for their kindness and care. I would like to thank Helen and Debbie and the whole team of carers who provide such a high level support for my parents. We really appreciate you all.
