Flexible hours:
The programming course does accommodate for people with jobs however, I don't recommend having one alongside the course. I spent the first few weeks exhausted and explaining to my mentor, Rob Brooks / DevEnabled, that I simply couldn't look at the lectures for that week. Rob was very understanding and always fit his time around me even when I continued with web dev contracts later in the year.
About my mentor:
Rob is an excellent teacher and has taught me how to assess the efficiency of different solutions and the problems I may experience with each. I have asked about a very wide range of topics that were not part of the course content at the time: unit testing and testing frameworks (TDD), enhanced inputs, gameplay tags, working with 3D modellers and game designers. Rob was able to shine a light on all of these and had not discouraged me from attempting to do TDD. If you do decide to do TDD, good luck, I want to say you're better off setting up a good debug messaging system and using breakpoints than doing this.
On top of the coding advice, Rob has told me about his own experiences in the industry to help shape my portfolio and career path. I've asked him a lot about group work but to get the best sense of whether a project will turn out well or not, you need to experience being in a few teams. One major takeaway from the student run projects I've been on is to learn when to leave, people have big dreams and visions but if there is no clear GDD and constant feature creep then its time to go.
The community:
There's an annual game jam on the course where we build a game within 2 months. This is where I started meeting a lot more people as I went to some channels for modelling and animation to see how it affects the programming for the project. There are also TAs on each channel, they are all very helpful and friendly, I needed animation and rigging assets and managed to find 3 people to help me with a project.
In the programming channel the students/alumni are great, there's always someone around/awake who can try and solve your problem as the course is international. Some of the mentors will also take a look at any problems you post. If it wasn't for the other programmers on this course, I would not have made it this far, I am incredibly blessed to have met them and my mentor.

I took 2D Animating Essentials. I've never animated anything before taking this class but with the feedback I've received, the encouragement I got and my tutors extensive knowledge ( Hubert Lapointe )I believe I picked everything up very quickly.

I took the Intro to Game Design course
As someone with little knowledge of computers it wasn't a problem! My mentor,Eric Jensen, was very encouraging and provided many important lessons!
The course flew by quickly, and I can't wait for the next part!

Quick and easy access to the subject matter. Quick assistant response. The staff, technical assistants and mentors are quick to respond and anwser (most of) your questions. The meetings went smooth and it was a great experience.

My experience at CG Spectrum was over a year, I got to work with my wonderful mentor who has been in the industry for 25 years. I did the 1 on 1 mentorship.
I went in coming from a very little background in game development, just a few simple Unity projects with C#. Stepping into Unreal Engine/blueprinting was a big leap, but a very rewarding one.
This whole school has seriously changed my life, and I'm so appreciative of everyone that helped teach me, and support from the community. I even got to meet a few at Game Dev Con 2023.
I went from 0.5% in skill/knowledge of game development to a full 1200% It is really about applying yourself. CG Spectrum Game Design courses 100% push you for success, but it's up to you to put in the work.
I had a wonderful time, and once I land my first gig, I will definitely be back for the Bachelors program.
Thank you, CGS!

I was "Real-time 3D Essentials" 3 months course student and before I take this course I actually wanted to get the "Real-time 3D Foundations" after it too but now I'm doubtful and need to rethink my decision.
I will divide my feedback into pros and cons:
Pros:
- Mentors are very knowledgeable and are kind enough to answer all your questions whether it's on your weekly session or on Slack , I had no problem with getting my answers whatsoever and I had two mentors and both of them were incredible!
- Tutorials cover the parts that were needed.
- Community you join is full of kind and respectful people.
Cons:
- Very expensive comparing what you get in return! I mean you can get all these tutorials for 200 dollars from udemy or other websites with same quality or maybe even better and more updated!
- I expected some bonus lessons too , most people are changing their career from totally different job so some courses giving us basics of art could be nice when we are paying this much of tuition fee!
Conclusion:
If I go back before I taking this course , I won't do it not because its bad! but because it wasn't up to my expectations , learning technical side of software is one thing , learning the way of thinking in your job (like art fundamentals) is another , I wanted an academic education to learn the second matter more than first one , otherwise there were tons of youtube videos to learn Unreal Engine or other software involved,
Overall I'm giving 3 stars because mentors are awesome and if you don't mind about it being expensive , it's a decent academy to sign up!

Great faculty that are always a message away and very good curriculum as well as amazing resources.

CG Spectrum ããã®åç
CG Spectrum is an amazing experience. The mentors are extremely knowledgeable and the curriculum is high quality. Also, having access to the community even after graduation is a great addition to the already fulfilling experience. The school is very welcoming and I highly recommend CG spectrum to beginners and experts who want to learn new skills.

CG Spectrum ããã®åç
Does not cost this money. Honestly, paying such a sum of money to receive the lessons you can find on YouTube and then during the Q&A session the mentor does not want to open your file to review the work. Better find some lessons on YouTube.

I'm so glad I found CG Spectrum!!!
I recently completed the Nuke Compositing Course and I could not be more pleased with the experience. The course material is comprehensive and up to date with industry standards and practices. The mentors are industry veterans who are more than willing to help out and answer questions. My mentor was absolutely amazing and provided me with constant support throughout my journey. I felt so much more confident and well prepared to work by the end of the course due to the boost my learning experience received.
One of the most important aspects of this industry is having a supportive community for feedback and for job opportunities, and CG Spectrum provides just that. Also, the school has an online-assist service which was really helpful for any technical issues I had.
I would highly recommend CG Spectrum to anyone who wants to learn industry skills in the film and game industry. Thank you CG Spectrum for giving me the tools to further my career!

I would take this institution's style of mentorship and learning every time over the more traditional "here take these 30 soul-crushing classes and here's your sheet of paper." Keep in mind this is coming from someone who withdrew from a traditional university. CGS is an unbelievable breath of freedom compared to something like that because at least for the 1st 3D modeling course I have taken so far, I have been able to explore trying to make something that isn't explicitly following along with the course material, but still keeps the course material relevant. The mentors are welcoming and very nice; quite passionate about what they're teaching too which just bolsters your growth as a professional artist with the institution. Overall wonderful place to jumpstart your career with their courses.

I cannot stress enough how nice having a mentor that is inside the current industry is rather than professor who was in the industry 15 years ago and no longer. Community is amazing and mentor will guide you in the right direction if you listen well.

CG Spectrum ããã®åç
Very helpful community, great guidance of the mentors and good content. Really enjoyed my time learning here and it helped me land a job in the (game) industry.

CG Spectrum ããã®åç
CGS spectrum is awesome, the mentors are open and really there to push you to your limits. Great communication from Slack community on sharing ideas and getting back with specific feedback on the weeks work. Turnaround times on responses are great and helpful on pending assignments. The slack community is like the phrase'' the World is your Oyster'' They are experts on educational tasks and challenges. it's been a fun, hard journey, that gave me insight within the gaming world. I will pursue my 9 months certification after my self-learning season. 2024 will be the year to take on new challenges and use Slack to its full potential.

I've been having a wonderful experience at CG Spectrum, I literally couldn't recommend it enough! The community is wonderful and everyone is so helpful. I just finished up the Foundations to Real time 3D and Virtual Production course. I absolutely loved it and looking forward to getting into the next part!

CG Spectrum ããã®åç
I just finished the Intro to 3D Modeling course recently, and I enjoyed a lot of things that were offered in the course!
I had no foundation to build off of from a college degree previously, so this course taught me fundamental topics on how to properly achieve 3D modeling. I love the mentor that I had, he was awesome to work with and he was willing to help me troubleshoot problems that I had trouble on. I love how it gives the basics on other softwares I didn't have much experience in using before such as: Substance Painter and Zbrush. This course was insightful, fun to do, and it helped me build a better foundation to continue progressing and moving forward as a 3D modeler.
The only thing I didn't like about CG Spectrum was posting on the modeling community for feedback. It didn't help me when I asked for feedback on my post in the modeling community, most people just liked my post but wasn't helpful to give me any advice on what to improve on. That's not helpful to me to just get praise and likes for the work I was sharing. As a student, I would like to get as much feedback on the work I share so I can continue improving. I would get at least one person to give me feedback on what I could do better. Just one person isn't as helpful as having many others. I see so many others who share their work for feedback and I would see a lot of people comment on theirs whether it's praise or feedback. I initially thought the community was for everyone, whether you're a beginner or advanced, and feedback would be equally given, but I saw that I wasn't getting the help I wanted. The modeling community on Slack needs to do better in terms of giving feedback via post. It's not cool that I get a bunch of likes but not get any helpful advice on how to make my work look better.

I am only 3 months into the course and all I have to say is that I went from knowing nothing of VFX to a more experienced user. I am amazed by how much I have learned in a small amount of time with valuable feedback from my mentor. I am for sure going to be in this online course for a full year.

CG Spectrum ããã®åç
I took the 3 month course "Introduction into game Programming" and here is my experience laid out with it.
In this course you will be learning C++, and developing a game in the command console using it.
Overall the course gives you a grasp on how to use C++, and why a lot of developers in the gaming industry use it.
I do have to state though and this was stated by one of the students during the last lecture the first couple of weeks of the course are a bit slow they teach you the basic syntax on how every programming language basically works for example if statements loops.
Then after the basics are over you jump into the real power of C++ such as pointers vectors arrays and what not, which needed a bit more explaining, but overall they did a good job on laying out their functionality.
So here is the part where I talk about my instructor, and this is going to be completely my biased opinion of him.
I have no critiques about him. He was very knowledgeable, he is a professional in the industry, he knew how to help us every step of the way, he even stayed after class and continued talking with us and giving is advice recommendations and teaching us about the industry, and about the language, so Thank you very much Caio Sabino.
Though I do have to say and some people might not agree with me about the meetings, but I do wish they could be a bit longer, or just more than one day, because they felt like they went by very fast.
So thank you very much to CG Spectrum and my instructor.

I have just completed the 3 month Foundation in Nuke Compositing with CG Spectrum. What an amazing College, with incredibly experienced (and currently working) mentors from the industry, and an inclusive and friendly vibe, despite being a global community. I will be starting a 9 month course in Nuke with them shortly; hugely enjoyable, I cannot believe how much I have learned so far. The set up is very professional, with department staff very visible (digitally), to support with everything from wellbeing, socialising, networking /career opportunites, to technical issues (team of TAs too) and admin.
I'm hooked, and as someone changing career after 20 years, I have absolutely no doubt I made the right move to study with them. 5 stars across the board!

CG Spectrum ããã®åç
I started the course with absolutely no knowledge of compositing and learned more in 3 months than I could have imagined. My mentor was always there to answer any questions that I had and would always give more than expected. I really like the way CG Spectrum does their courses. I would recommend CG Spectrum to anyone. If you put the work in, you will learn.
