I was satisfied with the services provided when I was in Thailand 3 months ago, however I would like to warn other people as my credit card has been charged 2 days ago by another rental company in Bangkok.

This is a fraud and in this entire year I have only used my credit card with Chic Car Rent for a deposit. So be careful!

I too am writing a review because I am surprised by all the criticism of Chic. I rented a fantastic brand new Honda BRV from Chiang Mai Airport in February 2024 for a couple of weeks for a driving tour of the north with my family. The check-in process at the airport was easy and friendly; we were delighted with the vehicle and its performance; and the drop-off at Chiang Rai Airport was really simple too (after good phone instructions on where to go). I’m planning another family trip right now and intend to use Chic again, which is how I came across these reviews!

I thought I would write this review as there are so many bad ones on here but I recieved a good service. Car was not new but they were cheaper than the big rental companies and very friendly. I booked 4 days, Monday to Thursday but they said I can keep it until Friday morning when I was flying out from BKK. I took their full platinum insurance and so they did not inspect the car when I returned it as everything was covered and was only 300bht per day.

Finger weg von Chic-Car-Rent. Nach der Rückgabe verlangen sie für kleinste Abnützungen viel Geld. Chic-Car-Rent hat sogar Tabellen, wie viel etwas kostet. So eine Abzocke habe ich noch nie erlebt!!!

Sooooo bad. I will not rent a car from them ever again. Their car is super old and the front desk lady at BKK airport is not nice. It seems like she doesn’t want to work. The car is falling apart. I rented 7 seats comparable to Toyota Veloz and got small CRV Honda which is tight for 7 people with suitcases. Stay away people. Go to Thai rental car, their car is nice new and clean for the same price.

Never again. I agree with all the bad reviews.
Customer service at Bangkok airport very poor. Made to feel unwelcome - no smile no eye contact.
Vehicle was in very bad state, Several untreated scrapes and dents. Front left wing was detached from previous accident.
Vehicle was very old 165,000kilo. Brakes soft and suspension gone.
Complained at Bangkok airport, but what's the point. They do not care about customers.

Abbiamo noleggiato attraverso Rentalcars. Recupero auto con Meet & Greet, gate 3 aeroporto di Pukhet alle 15h30. Arriviamo alle 15h20, io mia moglie e nostro figlio Gabriel (10 mesi). Aspettiamo fino alle 16h00, non viene nessuno. Di fronte il gate c'é il loro parcheggio. Vado a vedere, nulla. Il personale di Sixt e Budget non si spiegano neanche loro. 16h15 (mio figlio sotto il sole) un addetto di Sixt chiama il numero di Chic Rent a Car. Dicono che corrono. 16h30, arrivano, dicendo che erano li alle 15h30. Impossibile. Divisa gialla visibile a 200 metri, e neanche il personale di altre compagnie li hanno visti. Senza scusarsi gli dico che non é carino far aspettare i clienti cosi e, soprattutto con un bimbo piccolo. Una di loro allontanandosi per prendere il POS, dice una cosa in lingua thai ma capisco la parola "baby". Chiedo spiegazioni e al terzo tentativo, questa ragazza dice che potevo lasciare mio figlio a casa!!!! Cosa mai sentita prima. Ho le foto della "favolosa" equipe. Quasi perdo il controllo di me stesso, mia moglie mi calma subito. Siamo partiti con un'ora di ritardo e nervosi per tale comportamento. Altrimenti macchina decente e rientro puntuale (forse sapendo quel che era successo all'andata) Mai più Chic Rent a Car.

Scammers. Do not pay in advance, they won't return you money back even if you didn't use their services.

Chic Car Rental is a big scam at Bangkok Airport. I rented Chic Car to be pick up on the 30th at midnight and arrived to the counter to pick up my rental at 1:00 AM due to slight plane delay on arrival. The lady at the booth just turned me away because it was yesterday. She said Chic Car Rental didn't charge customer who did not show up on time to pick up. My credit card showed that it is already paid in full. Do not waste your time and money renting from this company. I do not recommend it.

The worsted car rental company in 40 years of travel experience. They cheat and are criminals.

- 16 Dagen auro-rondreis in Thailand (Don Mueang naar Chiang Mai). Auto gehuurd via Carflexi
- Ophalen in Don Mueang: ondanks bestelling wagen geleverd zonder GPS met optie smartphone en Google Maps. Geweigerd wegens zelf voorzien
- Aflevering in Chiang Mai (na reinigen wagen binnen en buiten op eigen kosten, zonder enige beschadiging): Ik word beschuldigd van het vervangen van beide achterbanden (maakdatum 2022) door achterbanden met maakdatum 2019,
- Bewijs geleverd per filmopname in Don Mueang deze banden er al op lagen bij aflevering. Spijtig genoeg onvoldoende tijd om politieklacht in te dienen wegens vertrek vlucht.
Besluit:
- deze maatschappij lijkt onder één hoedje te spelen met leverancier en proberen de argeloze huurder te bedotten. En inderdaad, een klacht indienen via Thailand vanuit de EU vereist om te beginnen vertaling van het dossier ...
- blijf weg van deze bedrieglijke firma waar de werknemers in deze scam meedraaien
- maak duidelijke filmopnamen als je een wagen huurt
- als je tijd hebt, laat ter plaatse een proces-verbaal opmaken
- wanneer geeft TrustPilot de mogelijkheid om nul sterren te geven voor dit soort firma's ?

Terrible experience with Chic Car Rent, they're a TOTAL SCAM, they provide you with old and very poor-maintained car. Everything seemed perfect when we received the car, but suddenly the windshield crack by itself in front of our eyes, out of nowhere, it just cracked like that, LIKE HOW, and they charged us almost 8.000 THB for that. I am very responsible driver, I'd glad to take the responsibility if it's happen because of my fault. THEIR CARS ARE TOTAL PIECE OF CRAP I warn you. Better go find another provider.

Attention, les cartes bancaires visa européenne ne sont pas acceptés car la mention "crédit" n'est pas indiquée dessus !! Ce type de carte est accepté partout sur la planète pratiquement mais pas pour cette compagnie qui exige la mention "crédit" sur la carte. Nous avions réservé un véhicule 1 mois à l'avance, à l'arrivée le modèle de véhicule réservé n'était pas disponible, on m'annonce un véhicule de catégorie inférieur et de gamme plus ancienne (SUV réservé pour m'annoncer un petit SUV compact au guichet et prétendre que c'est pareil) et l'opératrice a refusée ma Visa Premier pour le motif écrit au dessus. Les 2 femmes de la réception se moque royalement que vous soyez en galère au dernier moment à cause d'elle, elles ne font aucun effort pour essayer de trouver une solution! Elles vous rendent vos papiers et vous laisse en plan avec votre famille et vos valises le premier jour de vos vacances. Je vous passe les détails de la galère pour récupérer les arrhes versés par internet sur le site Vipcars qui eux ont bien été accepté mais qui cherche tout les justificatifs possibles pour ne rien rembourser. Autre détails qui peut avoir de l'importance cette compagnie n'a pas de guichet à l'aéroport il faut aller de l'autre côté de la voie rapide pour s'y rendre, pas pratique du tout. Je déconseille très très fortement cette agence.

This is the 4th time I've rented from them. 2 times the car has had to be replaced because of some problem (first one had AC problems, second one had driveshaft problem). They make you bring it to work shop to get inspected (spending your time) then they bring replacement vehicle to you, with less than half tank of fuel, and request you fill up the vehicle being returned.

So basically, they give you faulty car and you have to spend time and pay extra for fuel. When asked about this policy, no answer.

Also, now last time, my wife drivers license had expired and we wanted to get her as driver so she could drive as soon as her license was renewed in Thailand. Person at counter said "no can do, send it in via email to add driver when she has license". Emailed them twice, no answer in 48 hrs, then contact them on whatsapp and ask them to add, they say they can't. When asked why person at desk told us we could, just silence.

This company is really bad to communicate with and don't maintain their cars properly, and I hope I find some other company that rents out Honda BRV, as that's the only reason we've used this company.

We rented from them but the car broke down 3 times and even though we paid for repairs they did not provide a full refund or replace the vehicle. Despite chasing they have yet to accept responsibility. We had 3 young children and it spoilt our holiday.

We hired a car from chic car rentals in December for 10 days on our holiday.We had a problem every day trying to open the vehicle some times 3times a day.Everyday we were told the problem would be resolved.When asked for a replacement vehicle we told we were to far away.On returning the vehicle the staff told us they knew the vehicle had a problem ,they still have not replied .Do not use this company the service is discussting.They don’t care.

This is probably the poorest car rental experience that we had so far.
First, their counter is located at domestic terminal in immigration zone. Should you arrive to international terminal, you will enjoy paper work at the open fresh air (+36 C in our case). Paper work takes as long as 30 minutes. We travelled with a baby who had to be fixed at car chair during all that time.
We've got huge Nissan Terra instead of economy car we booked. The car was dirty inside (not sure whether someone was killed there or it was just splashes of soya sauce spilled to the roof and doors).
After 30minutes of enjoyable filling their papers and counting all chips and scratches that were generously scattered around car's body, we finally managed to leave car park.
The major surprise waited us upon checkout. When we arrived at nice car park in the open fresh air, their technician immediately pointed us that the tire (!) is scratched!! I.e. damaged. We countered that the tire is in satisfactory condition, the scratch is effectively within normal tire and wire. Pressure was normal, this is a cosmetic defect of the tire that no other rental company would normally consider as a damage. However, any discussion was useless. To be fair, we indeed did not check tire condition but for pressure upon check in just because all this handover in carpark was crazy. It was also rather difficult to assume that cosmetic condition of tires is going to be an issue. But it turned that it was.
As a result they simply doubled (!) our rental (the "damage" cost THB 5500, i.e. couple of new tires).
In short, if you wish simple and straightforward car rental without little tricks, Chic Car is not a right choice. With them you will have adventurous quest around Phuket airport with doubling of rental cost by some surprising excuse. Please consider any other option - this is our 3rd car rental at Phuket, no issues with other companies. Here is just unblushing scam.

Tire SCAM. Funny thing is as soon as parked the car, the agent went directly to the tire that has the "damages". It's so small that you CANNOT see from 5 feet way. See picture below. Came back with 3 or 4 smallest scratches on the tire and they force you to pay for full tire replacement. I've never looked at tires on any rental car, but I will now.

Rented a car from Khon Kaen airport. Paid for the car, and a deposit 5000 baht. 3 months later, no return of the deposit. 4 phones to company!
Avoid this company!!
