Trustpilot...genau so haben wir ChingiTours empfunden, als Führer, dem man sich anvertrauen kann...

Ich bin mit einem Kumpel eine Woche mit ChingiTours durch Mauretanien gefahren. Kamelmarkt, Dünen, Oasen, Chinguetti, Ouadane, Koranbibliotheken, Eisenerzzug, Kontakt zu Land und Leuten, es war eine epische Reise! Exzellent organisiert, Unterkünfte, die unserem Wunsch nach Authentizität entsprachen, in nur einer Woche haben wir einen ersten Eindruck von diesem faszinierenden Land erhalten können. Unser Führer Sidamar war klasse, genau die richtige Mischung aus Freiheit lassen und Informationen geben. Es gibt in Mauretanien keinen nennenswerten Tourismus, entsprechend ist der Kontakt zu den Einheimischen unverkrampft und von gegenseitiger Neugierde geprägt.
ChingiTours ist ein exzellenter Partner für dieses völlig zu unrecht so unbekannte, faszinierende Land.

Good trip and tour guide. Helpful and responsible especially in Mauritania. Just need to inform guest earlier of credit card payment in the country (almost non-existance) so i am way more prepare.

I traveled to Mauritania with ChingiTours on the Adrar Tour (short) in October 2025, and overall I had a fantastic experience exploring one of the most remote countries I’ve ever visited. Mauritania isn’t a common tourist destination, and I came into this trip with plenty of questions and hesitation. Leo — especially in the planning phase — was absolutely outstanding. I sent him many many emails beforehand, and every single one was answered promptly. Their pre-trip communication alone gave me the confidence to book.

My flight arrived in Nouakchott at 3am (and it took an hour to get through passport control), but ChingiTours arranged for a driver to pick me up, putting me at ease. The drivers throughout the trip were great — reliable, punctual, and confident behind the wheel. While we didn’t interact much due to language barriers, I always felt safe and well taken care of. The accommodations in Nouakchott and Chinguetti were basic but clean, with working AC, decent Wi-Fi, and what I would consider perfectly acceptable conditions for Mauritania. Breakfast was simple, but overall I was comfortable. The itinerary itself brought me to some absolutely incredible places. The Terjit Oasis was a standout — lush, peaceful, almost surreal — and I wish I had more time there. The dunes of Chinguetti at sunset were stunning and exactly the kind of Sahara experience I had hoped for. I appreciated the small group dynamic. I bonded quickly with the other travelers, and their company made the long drives and remote stops much more enjoyable.

One important note for future travelers: riding the Iron Ore Train is an unofficial activity and not formally condoned by the Mauritanian government, which means there is always a possibility of police interference. In our case, the authorities chased our group away from the tracks in Choum, and only by taking the initiative myself — sprinting toward the moving train and climbing aboard alone — was I ultimately able to experience the journey. Despite riding the entire length of the desert solo, it remains one of the most exhilarating travel moments of my life and something I would absolutely do again. However, travelers should be aware of the unpredictable nature of the experience and ideally build in an extra day or two of buffer time in case they need to attempt it more than once. Through all of this, ChingiTours was extremely responsive and quickly rearranged plans in Nouadhibou to ensure I had a safe place to stay and a smooth return to Nouakchott in time for my flight.

Overall, ChingiTours delivered an adventure that exceeded my expectations. Mauritania is not an easy place to travel independently, and having a professional company handle the logistics made all the difference. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a truly off-the-beaten-path adventure.

I did the Adrar Tour (Standard) in April 2025 – it was one of the best travel experiences I have ever had!

From the communication with Leo pre departure, to the airport drop-off at the end of the trip, everything ran smoothly. Leo answered all of my questions promptly and honestly before departure. And once in Mauritania, Sidamar, our guide, was incredible. His English was excellent, he was super friendly and always up for a conversation, and answered our many questions patiently. The drivers were friendly and very skilled, and I felt completely safe in the vehicles at all times.

The Iron Ore Train is what first attracted me to Mauritania, but there is so much more to the country than that. Every location we visited was a highlight – the desert oases, camping on the sand dunes under the stars, Ouadane, Eye of the Sahara… Thanks for an amazing and unforgettable adventure! Highly recommended!

Die Tour die wir durch Mauretanien gemacht haben war gut strukturiert und durchgeplant. Der Guide der einen in Mauretanien erwartet hat war sehr sympathisch und die ganze Tour über sehr hilfreich! Die Kommunikation direkt mit ChingiTours ist auch sehr gut gewesen, weshalb ich und mein Kollege keine Probleme und eine tolle Erfahrung gemacht hatten!

Die Beratung von der Organisation vorab war super. Sie haben mir Mega mit dem Visum geholfen, weil ich damit einige Probleme hatte. Vor Ort war auch alles super geplant und ich hatte eine mega Zeit.

Traveling with ChingiTours was a truly special experience. Communication before the trip was great – clear, fast, and honest, especially regarding the visa process. Our guide Sidamar was outstanding: always smiling, highly competent, and surprisingly punctual! He patiently answered all our questions and made the journey smooth and enjoyable.

The desert camps were the true highlight – sleeping directly on the dunes, under a sky full of stars, was simply unforgettable. The group atmosphere, countless tea breaks, and the absence of internet created a real sense of connection.

I originally came for the iron ore train, but ended up falling in love with the desert and the people. The itinerary was well thought out, and we always felt safe and taken care of.

A big thank you to the whole team – this wasn’t just a trip, it was an experience I’ll never forget. Highly recommended to anyone looking for something authentic and off the beaten path.

I traveled with 2 friends (3 women, no men) on a tour with ChingiTours 3/31-4/5. Our driver, Mohammed, was a safe and competent driver. Our guide, Sidamar, was an exceptional guide. He was incredibly attentive to our needs while absolutely respectful of our space and personal expectations. We felt safe and cared for at all times. And the adventure was glorious! Oudane, Terjit, Sahara camping, vegetarian cooking (:)), Chinguetti. All well worth seeing.

Two of my friends and I had an absolutely wonderful tour with Chingi Tours and our exceptional guide, Sidamar. the pre-trip communication and support was great. As three women, we felt absolutely safe with and respected by Sidamar, the tour was well-planned, the food was great, the camping sites were fantastic, and the desert was so beautiful. We are grateful and will remember our trip fondly forever!

Ich hatte eine großartige 7-tägige Tour durch Atar(Chinguetti und die Sahara, inklusive der Fahrt mit dem Eisenerzzug), es war unglaublich! Alles war super organisiert, mein Guide war freundlich und wusste unglaublich viel über Mauritanien. Ich habe mich immer sicher und wohl gefühlt.

Mauretanien ist atemberaubend schön, und diese Tour hat mir die besten Orte gezeigt. Vielen Dank für diese unvergessliche Erfahrung!

Leo organized a great tour of Mauratania. We saw so many interesting sights. Mauratania can be a complciated country, so I'd definetly recomend using a tour guide. Communication was clear throughout and the Guide was very informative an useful. The itiniary was well tailored to us
