So sehr ich Mazzottis ehemalige ETH-Forschungsgruppe super finde und hoffnungsvoll war zu Climeworks, die Sept 2024 bestellten Entfernungen sind immer noch nicht umgesetzt (0 kg CO2 entfernt Stand Juli 2026). Nun Mail bekommen, obwohl Abo schon lange abbestellt, dass noch wählen könnte stattdessen Biochar oder Mineralization zu nehmen. Es scheint wirklich nicht gut zu funktionieren mit der versprochenen Menge an CO2, das entfernt werden sollte mit Direct Air Capture. Das Abo das ich meiner Mutter geschenkt hatte, musste ich auch wieder abbestellen. Deshalb empfehle ich Neukunden wirklich, nicht ein Abo bei Climeworks zu machen, sondern das Geld zB in ein Balkonkraftwerk zu stecken oder für ein E-Auto zu sparen, oder den ÖV zu nehmen statt Benzinauto, alles womit ihr Emissionen selber reduzieren könnt. Hier kriegt man nicht viel Kompensation fürs Geld, und wenn dann vielleicht in Jahren nachgeholt, wenn die Anlage vielleicht läuft.

Great initiative. Worth supporting, so that this technology can be developed further.

While I like the concept and support their great work on fighting climate change, the fact that it will take years to handle your order (co2 removal) is quite disappointing. It may be that the co2 removal machine is still not yet fully operational, but I would have expected them to be more explicit on the long time needed to actually perform the job (otherwise it seems more like a "donation" in disguise).

Transparent, easy to use, and world-changing!

I truly appreciate that Climeworks is dedicated to removing CO₂ from our atmosphere. The direct air capture (DAC) technology is innovative and represents an important step toward a more sustainable future. I value their transparency, regular updates on progress, and the opportunity to personally contribute to tackling the climate crisis.

The carbon offsetting process is clearly explained, and I appreciate that Climeworks does not promise unrealistic results but instead relies on scientifically backed methods. Every step is communicated in an understandable way, and I feel that my support is making a real impact.

I hope this technology will continue to develop and expand to help in the fight against climate change. Thank you, Climeworks, for your efforts!

While I appreciate the concept in general, I really dislike that all of my CO2 removals (ordered in 2024) are scheduled to be delivered in 2030 only.
Of course the estimated delivery date is not visible beforehand, so it comes as an unpleasant surprise. I cancelled my subscription for now, but I might give it another try once I see my CO2 being removed. See you in 2030.
