Poor follow up and tracking
My experience with this company has been extremely disappointing. When I initially called to request an update, I was informed that only the individual who handled my bond could access information regarding whether the documents had been mailed. Since that person was not in the office, I was instructed to call back the following day.
When I called back, the representative stated that the documents had been mailed on Monday through USPS. I specifically asked whether a tracking number was available and was told that they do not use tracking numbers when mailing sensitive documents. The representative then stated that the documents had been mailed again on Thursday.
Unfortunately, the initial mailing was never received. I also have USPS Informed Delivery, which allows me to preview incoming mail, and the expected mailing never appeared in my notifications. Given the conflicting information about when the documents were mailed, the lack of tracking or verifiable delivery, and the fact that only one employee can access updates about a customer's case, I have serious concerns about their communication and overall handling of sensitive documents.
A company handling important and time-sensitive paperwork should have a reliable process for tracking, verifying, and communicating the status of mailings. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company to anyone.

I have used Colonial Surety for several years. Coverage is affordable and managing my policy online has always been easy. Highly recommend if you are needing insurance.

The bond document I received was not…
The bond document I received was not notarized it had my premium on it and not the coverage amount, not official documentation what so ever . I called and the person that was helping me seemed like she didn’t really know what was going on she said maybe because it was after hours. Which is contrary to what the website site, immediate downloads. Very disappointing.

I was told I would receive a hard copy…
I was told I would receive a hard copy of my plan and I have not. I also called to point out that my name as principal was wrong and I was told it was noted and would be fixed. It was not correct on the online copy.

Able to talk to some one on the phone.
They should have confirmed my gender before sending the forms. The notary went through and struck everywhere it referred to gender and changed it. Other wise would have been 5 star. I was able to talk to a real person on the phone.
