Abmissal service. Unprofessional, pass the book, don't respond to calls, rude, obnoxious, lack of compassion. The director amd complaints manager are a joke too! Do not waste your time or money on this company. The 93% negative feedback shows this!

For the love of god don’t use these clowns, from start to finish they gave me nothing but stress, don’t reply to emails, don’t answer the phones, don’t keep you updated, took NINE MONTHS to complete a house purchase.
Do yourself a favour and put your hand in your pocket and pay more money for a proper firm, I know I certainly will be in the future!
Totally unprofessional and utterly disgusting attitudes from the people I dealt with, awful service. How they are still operating beggars belief

I put an offer in on a flat on April 30th 2021 the 15th October was when I received my keys. 6 months for a first time buyer no chains and a very simple purchase. The seller was using them as an estate agent and silly me just thought it would be easier to keep the same firm for the solicitors what a mistake that was. i wish i could go back and start all over again because it was nothing but stress from the get go. they held my file for a good 3 months and did nothing with it when it got to october i esculated it to the cheif ex and wrote a complaint to him. many of the same reasons im writing this review are below in all the others no one repsonding to emails people being off or away from the desk no calls back your file being passed around to every single person in the office. since moving into the flat I've notice i have no hot water and my boiler hasn't worked for many years so many lies were told and nothing was checked properly its a disgrace PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not use these solicitors if anything can come from my bad experience it will be these never get custom again. do you research and stay away from these scum. I will say Maddie and Saj should not work in customer service Maddie ignored around 20 emails of mine when i was asking desperately for some help and guidance and Saj has 0 customer skills when I spoke to him on the phone I was shocked. they shouldn't be in a job like that.

Curtis Law represented the seller in my house purchase that completed this week after 8 months - I am a first time buyer and the house was unoccupied so this was a no chain sale. From beginning to end, this firm seemed to do everything in their power to cause me nothing but stress and frustration throughout the entire process; they ignored my solicitor’s emails, wouldn’t respond to enquiries for months and when they did respond, it would often be insufficient so my solicitor’s would have to go back multiple times to chase for the correct response. Not only this, but they would question my solicitor’s requests and also tell me that my solicitor was holding something up (this wasn’t the case, it was always sat with them). It even got to the point where my mortgage advisor would ring up to try and push things through and they just outright ignored him. No matter how you try and escalate an issue, they will not do anything about it - I even threatened to pull out of the sale to try and hurry them up and they didn’t even acknowledge me. The cherry on top of the cake was that on my completion date, they were not ready to exchange as they still needed to get their file signed off at 2pm in the afternoon. I finally picked my keys up at twenty to 5 after 12 phone calls throughout the day to chase them, along with my solicitor doing the same thing. The one positive thing I can take from this experience is that I’m so glad they weren’t my solicitors as paying them for their “service” would’ve felt like being robbed. I cannot stress highly enough to avoid this firm. They have completely ruined the experience of buying my first home.

If you're looking for the worst possible customer service and constant passing the blame, then this is the company for you!

Spent the best part of 6 months back and forth with 10 different people from the company. They have totally ruined the first time buying experience, because of their lacking competence we have not been able to stand our ground during the process, the estate agents, the sellers of the house we're buying and the solicitors themselves have blamed us (first time buyers) for their (solicitors) lack of work on every occasion.
We had an email (5pm on a Friday of course, they never tell you anything until after 5pm as they dont have to respond) from the solicitors to our estate agents saying "we're behind another week because the buyers have not sent their deposit" we had sent it 6 hours prior, sent an email and phoned to confirm everything was well and ready to go through.

Their phone lines haven't worked apart from once when they wanted payment from us....

Theres so many problems with the company that I could write a 30 page essay. 10 pages would be on the 10 different people that we have dealt with, no one does a hand over. Someone goes on holiday and joe blogs picks it up a week later and just tells you they're back next week so I won't bother. Or they will pick it up but theyll go 6 steps back because they can't be arsed to read what's gone on or the other person hasn't saved any information.

If I could go back 6 months I would not have gone through the house buying process. The sellers and the estate agents have ruined the process for us too but this company is just next level... If any one takes the time to read this, please do not use this company. Pay the higher end for someone reputable.

I concur with all the comments below about lack of response throughout the process of buying / selling houses.

That however pails into insignificance compared with the fact that on sale on my mothers bungalow (needed to pay for her care costs), they sent the proceeds to an incorrect account.

3 weeks on we are still waiting for the proceeds and just get excuses and fobbed off.

Been trying to purchase a house since the last 6 months (25th February). I just can’t get through to anybody. I don’t understand why this process has taken so long. Irresponsible to emails , and clearly the phone lines do not work.

Our buyer used them and it took over 6 months to complete from accepting the offer. Our solicitor and estate agent struggled to get updates from them. They review files every 3 weeks at very best. they lied to the their client! once stating that the lender wouldn't proceed when it was actually them not wanting to act (mortgage adviser confirmed this). they scare mongered our buyer with the search results and enquiries. if the first time buyer purchasing our property wasn't in direct contact with us she would have never got any updates or understood the process. pretty sure our buyer only spoke to her actual solicitor twice in 6 months. When our buyer persistently called as she wasn’t getting any updates the assistant told her stop calling and let them do their job. no customer service skills. buying a house is stressful enough you don't need these cowboys making it worse

Do not use this law firm! I am 15 weeks into buying a house. There is no chain - the house lies empty, and I am a cash buyer- they hold my funds!
I have even waved any searches in order to speed things up as I am renting which is eating into my equity.
The firm are unresponsive to calls and emails and when my solicitor does occasionally answer my calls, she has no idea of progress on my purchase.
I am now at the point we’re I am going to demand they transfer my funds into my account as I really do not trust this firm!
My estate agents say they will never use or recommend them again but I am disappointed and angry as to why they recommend Curtis Law when reviews are so negative?

DO NOT USE THIS FIRM! I unfortunately appointed Curtis Law to represent me in my house purchase and throughout have yet to have a positive experience. They are completely unresponsive to emails and ignore phone calls without apology and with complete disregard of basic customer service. I have been trying to contact them for over a week for details of final requirements to exchange contracts by the fast approaching deadline and pay my deposit but am being completely ignored. The developer I am purchasing from has banned buyers from using Curtis Law now as they've put deals at risk through their culture of unresponsiveness. The prices might be cheap but when they deliver such an awful client experience you're much better off paying a little extra to use a firm who are going to do the job you're paying them to do.

I instructed Curtis Law to help me with the purchase of my first house in May and 18 weeks on it still on going. Impossible to get hold of them on the phone, always the receptionist saying "oh he/she is busy now on another call can they get back to you" they never do! They never communicate with us, only unless we have hounded them with non stop emails and there is always an excuse somewhere and somebody is on holiday or they have had to change our case handler without notifying us. We instructed them in May and we are in mid-September and only just received the searches back. We and the vendor are going to occur higher stamp duty fees that we could have avoided and there is the possibility the sale will fall through if this does go into October. All this due to Curtis Law unprofessionalism.
We even put in a complaint to the director of the company Mr Andrew Bell hoping that that would speed things up, only to receive a response within a few hours that he has investigated and is satisfied with the customer service his company is providing. Their terms and conditions state 6-12 weeks to completion and we are in week 18 and he is satisfied with customer service we have received.

This law firm (Courtney) is great to have representing you. Has taken care of me 2 times and both time has been great.

Having read all the reviews and currently going threw this myself for the last 7 months with Curtis Law. I feel for the second time the sale will not complete to there ignorance and incompetence.
Has anyone actually thought or even took action against suing “Curtis law” for negligence.
The amount of money it’s cost me in loss of rent, extended Morgage payments, council Tax bills.
I’m happy to discuss further action with anyone in this group as I’m filing threw a small claims court. There is NO excuse as to why my sale fell threw when all other solicitors involved with other parties agreed that everything was in place for a smooth completion

We appointed Curtis Law at the beginning of February 2021 having found a buyer for our property.
7, very frustrating, months later we have sacked them.
I wish I'd taken that decision months ago.
To this very day I have no idea how far they got in the process as their communication was zilch.
There was little to no response to my emails requesting a status update on the sale.
Multiple phone calls and answerphone messages that were left, completely ignored.
How this company is allowed to practice is beyond me.

Our vendors used them for their sale and onward purchase.
Terrible, with our solicitors and estate agents saying they’d never dealt with someone so rude or unprofessional (our completion was further delayed a day because one contact wanted a longer lunch, knowing it caused their client an extra £600 in storage and removals).

Don’t go near them. My house sold very quickly , no chain and it took almost 7 months due to a total lack of communication, follow up, professionalism and courtesy from the majority of people I had the misfortune to deal with at this company. Don’t answer emails or calls , hand your files over from one person to another and don’t seem to keep any up to date notes. If it wasn’t for the chasing by me , my buyers solicitor and estate agent I doubt I would be sorted now. Lost count of how many people I spoke too and when I finally thought I was getting somewhere Hayley went off sick but no one told me for 7 weeks and my file sat doing NOTHING !!!! Their staff turnover speaks for itself. Nothing but stress and frustration. Steer very clear of them. One man called a Jamie was good, honest and competent and he picked up the failings of many of his colleagues and finally sorted my move out. My estate agent recommended these cowboys “it will go through faster if you use our recommended solicitor “. What a joke !!!

I mirror what the majority have said on here. I would give zero stars if I could. Curtis Law are not acting for me they are acting for my buyer and what should have been a pretty quick sale has turned into a full blown nightmare because of this firm. I sold my house to my buyer in February 2021. Three of us in a chain, with me at the top. Curtis Law didn’t even open their clients file for over 6 weeks until my buyer chased them for an update to realise they had done absolutely nothing. They have not been opening emails from either estate agents, solicitors or their client, and they are virtually uncontactable by telephone. June 2021 came around and still no sight of completion. They were not responding to emails or calls from my solicitor asking the same questions over and over again, then eventually the buyers at the bottom of the chain could not continue with the sale and pulled out due to inability to pay the stamp duty (they were convinced the sale would go through quickly before the end of the stamp duty holiday, as no obvious reason for the hold up). So the whole chain fell through… another chain was formed as my buyer quickly found another buyer for their house but yet again Curtis Law dragging there feet, uncontactable by my solicitor and they have asked my solicitor 3 times to send the email responses AGAIN to their inquiries…. My solicitor is tired of sending email responses they have already sent 3 times over….At the point now that it appears they are being dishonest about certain pieces of documentation that my solicitor stated they can get hold of in 24 hours and Curtis Law talked about cautions on specific documents which is contradictory to what the documents state when my buyer has ordered the information. I am convinced this chain will fall through for a second time due to Curtis Laws incompetence, very very unprofessional, virtually impossible to get of (my buyer in the end had to drive up to the offices in Blackburn) and untrustworthy…. Avoid at all costs because this chain is in a complete mess now and costing everyone in it a lot of stress, inconvenience and money. I cannot stress enough how important it is that anyone needing a conveyancer do not use this firm. Use at your own peril !!

I complained about their incompetence, so they asked me to remove my review on them. Still have done nothing to expedite the problem, keep making vague promises.
