Superb service. The Blackburn team Freitas went above and beyond in what became a very tricky conveyance due to the seller's ongoing purchase. Curtis Law handled the whole thing very professionally and I would not hesitate to use them again.

Avoid. Unprofessional. Would not give me a price for my sick sister in law. Said unless she was going to definitely use them the price could be used for comparison. Said I was just looking for quotes. A total lie. Yes I work for a law firm but did not want to be personally involved. They have just covered their back with excuses.

Our Estate Agents, Abode, recommended using Curtis Law for our house sale and purchase and we are so pleased we did.
The last 3 house moves (over an 18 year period) have all been a very painful experience when it has come to the solicitor's performance, but we can honestly say that the dedication and effort put in by Charlotte and her team is something we will remember for a very long time. We went with Curtis Law for the conveyancing of my mum's property as she is now in a care home.
Charlotte handled the sale and kept us fully informed throughout the process.
There were a couple of minor chain issues along the way which Charlotte dealt with promptly and they were soon resolved.
From the buyers' first viewing of the property to completion was exactly 4 months.

Currently using these solicitors - near the end of sale.
Shocking mistakes made. Quote given for sale of property for £163,000. Then they sent draft contract showing sale of property £157,000. Charlotte refused to believe me when I told her we agreed £163,000. Turned out to be estate agents fault but even so nobody apart from us triple checked. They are not professional in the documentation, leaving sentences unfinished on letters. Eg please answer to the highlighted enquiries on the the sheet - none attached. Turns out they had all been dealt with at their end. The price mistake could have risked the sale going through. Big complaint going in after we have moved.

I was in the process of completing a transfer of mortgage with a remortgage in July 2022! Everything was going smoothly until I did not receive regular updates or timely action from Curtis Law. This lead to numerous delays which I always had to chase up. Eventually, this caused my mortgage offer to go out of date and requiring a new mortgage offer which then because of cost of living increase and the interest rate increases I was no longer able complete the bank processes. I complained and eventually everything fell through with nothing that could be done. All because Curtis Law didn't action what they had to in time or even communicate with me properly. I had to drop the whole process. I now ended up getting an email (Nov 2024) to say your case is now closed "successfully". Rub salt in the wounds! Thanks!!

I used Curtis law for my conveyancing. Whilst they got the job done, my god was it hard work! Everytime I asked a question, it was practically ignored. I’d write a list of questions and only have one answered
When I called to speak to my solicitor she sounded as though she couldn’t be arsed.

I raised a question about a cost I was charged for, for some searches which I had already paid for, to find out a month after I moved in they owed me £250 back because I shouldn’t have paid it, which took them 10 days to refund even though they said 5. I asked them about this money months ago and never got a response about it

I downloaded their app to follow my progress which they never updated often, and about a month in, I got a notification to say I could collect my keys even though my purchasing process wasn’t even finished and no deposit or anything was paid. When I called I was told that it was a mistake.

They’re just all over the place to be honest. Wouldn’t use them again or recommend them

We hired Curtis Law in late May of 2023 to help with the purchase of our home. The sellers were family members settling their late mother's estate, so they had the deed in hand. We were renting a flat at the time, so there was no chain. It couldn't have been a more textbook, simple transaction - literally the only non-standard thing we had were a couple of Help To Buy ISAs, which any first-year solicitor should have been easily able to handle. Months went by when we didn't hear from them, despite chasing up. Their phone line would ring and ring and ring for literal hours, with no pick up or indication that we were moving forward in the queue. Our solicitor didn't respond to our emails. The only reason we still got the house is because we were in constant contact with the sellers, because no one could get in contact with these clowns. Not us, not the seller's solicitors, no one. In October, we found out that the original solicitor assigned to us was "no longer with the firm," which means that the firm knew that there were problems and didn't provide proper supervision. It took until the middle of December for the sale to finally go through. If this firm had delayed another two weeks, we'd have had to go through the whole process again, as we'd have lost our mortgage deal. We DID lose our home insurance deal and had to get a more expensive one. Now they're coming after us for a £30 fee, after they already sent us a £255 refund. It speaks to their disorganization and incompetence. Trust me, go with a firm that's going to be responsive and prompt, and not this one. Even if it costs you another couple hundred pounds, it'll be worth it for not having the hassle we experienced.
