"Personal emails" used for marketing purposes are still marketing emails. It's the purpose of the emails that matters not who pressed send. People aren't stupid.
No unsubscribe link means the exemption fails on its own terms. There's a further wobble here: the purchase predates the administration, and marketing permissions don't transfer cleanly to a new owner after an insolvency. Straightforward GPDR violation either way. Framing it like "most people would just be happy..." Is an unprofessional deflection and an insult. Customers have every right to take misuse of their data extreamly seriously. Not a laughing matter.

Update: We completely understand your point that the purpose of an email matters, and we certainly don’t want to get into a battle of semantics over who happened to press “send”! 😊
Our intention was simply to reach out personally to a previous customer who had purchased this collection before, as we thought she might be interested in our new launch- and, perhaps optimistically, we thought offering a discount might be a nice surprise rather than a source of outrage! 😂
Clearly, our attempt at a friendly “we thought you might like this” has landed rather differently than intended, and we’re sorry for that.
We’ve taken the feedback on board, removed the details from our records as requested, and there will be no more emails from us. We wish you all the very best, and promise to keep our future surprise discounts to ourselves! 😊

The message was a personal email sent by our Sales Manager (not from a mailing list) because you had previously purchased Clogau from us. It was not from a marketing campaign or ongoing promotional communication, and we appreciate that it may not have come across that way. We have, of course, now removed your email address from our records so you will not receive any further communication from us.
We have only recently relaunched the business under new ownership. We are aware that things were not always handled as they should have been prior to the administration, and we are doing our very best to provide a much better experience for returning customers, including offering the best possible prices and assisting customers with previous purchases wherever we can. As you can see from our recent reviews we are not the same company that existed when you made your purchase.
We sincerely apologise if the email came across as intrusive or rude. That was certainly not our intention, and we appreciate you bringing your concerns to our attention.
If you feel that our response and the steps we have taken have addressed your concerns, we would of course be grateful if you would consider updating your review to reflect your experience with us today. However, we completely respect your right to leave your review as you feel appropriate.

My sister and I visited the Bakewell shop and were looked after wonderfully by Peter. I had called before visiting and asked that a few pieces from the Bloom collection were there for us and when we arrived Peter knew about my request, offered us a cool drink and showed us the beautiful jewellery. We both left with new, favourite pieces of jewellery that were handcrafted for us and couldn’t be happier.

I absolutely loved my experience and couldn't be happier with my purchase. I was 100% satisfied from start to finish. Buying jewellery online isn't always easy, especially when you can't see it in person, but this company made the entire process effortless.
The customer service was exceptional:friendly, responsive, and genuinely caring. They went above and beyond to ensure I had a great experience, and that level of service is rare to find these days.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again, simply because of the outstanding customer experience. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for beautiful jewellery and first-class service!

Excellent customer service
What a great experience I had shopping at C W Sellors in Ashbourne. I visited to find the perfect piece of jewellery for a family member and was greeted by the lovely Holly.
She was so helpful and really listened to what I was looking for, presenting me with exactly what I had in mind. She made me feel like I was the only customer in the shop, making the whole experience feel very personal and friendly.
I would definitely recommend the shop to all my friends and family. Holly, in particular, is a real credit to the company. She was professional, approachable and incredibly helpful throughout the whole experience.

Diana was very attentive to my wife's requests and preferences and wasn't pushy in anyway to try and make a sale. The ring we chose was absolutely superb and sold itself to both of us. Bought a ring from them a few years…
Bought a ring from them a few years ago, a silver band with jet inlay but unfortunately a bit fell out which was so annoying as unaware how it happened. Contacted the company to ask re a repair and they were very helpful indeed. Sent it off for them to fix, which did take a few weeks but great customer communication at each stage of the process until it was repaired and safely posted back.
