Absolute disgrace
Absolute disgrace, most of the bar/restaurant areas are filty, not possible to order to the table due to the stuff shortages. For someone with a two pieces of luggage not possible to eat at all. The worst airport in Europe. No places to seat, no chill out areas, it like a big shed for a cattles.
One of the most dehumanisingâŠ
One of the most dehumanising experiences Iâve had recently. Itâs all self service ordering with food dumped on a counter in cardboard containers for collection. How can self service be a good idea in an airport?
Flying to Atlanta /USA
Flying to Atlanta /USA - told us to get here hours early then after you get through all the customs/ security- Nothing to eat! No Restaurants
They will not let you go back down to where every thing is.
So now stuck for 2.5 hours in a crappy terminal!
Worst airport in Europe
This is the fourth time I have travelled through Dublin airport and it is the worst airport in Europe. Poorly designed, chaotic processing through security, inadequate room at gates, non existent communication within the airport, long walks between gates. Gates for long haul flights hold 50 people when they should hold 300. Then passengers are forced into chaotic lanes that cross over multiple flights. Itâs like a third world country airport. Outside the airport is just as chaotic with passengers forced to traverse the carpark to get to airport hotel shuttle buses and taxis canât pick up passengers from the front of the airport! Avoid Dublin airport if you can!!

Nein danke!
Stupid Dulin airport
This airport's facilities have no sense. They have big recycle bins every few steps and phone charge station everywhere, but if you try to find a water fountain, it's hard to find one. They're not built next to the restrooms like in the US. Even though you find one, the water fountain sensors are so sensitive. They'll give you a few drops of water and then stop. It takes 10 minutes to fill up a water bottle. That's why the line is long. How stupid is this airport!? Encouraging you to recycle after "checking in" and encouraging you to charge your phones but not encouraging you to drink water!
Terminal 1 is like stepping back inâŠ
Terminal 1 is like stepping back in time 30 years. Itâs a joke airport for a well funded European capital city to have. Security can easily take 30 minutes.
ASU at T2 Dublin : If I could give a -10 star review IâŠ
If I could give a MINUS-10 star review I would.
Hereâs the AWFUL AND FRIGHTENING experience I had at the hands of A SENIOR ASU staff member
of T2 security today.
Having had my first cabin bag checked by a very nice woman agent she then told me that my second bag was being dealt with by this man.
While he was efficient in terms of workflows per ASU he had absolutely no respect for me or no sensitivity to the fact that I was bewildered at what he wanted me to answer.
He told me that my bag had been flagged as a high threat item he demanded to know what was in my bag. He did not tell me what would happen if I could not explain to him what was in my bag. Frankly, I was so scared I could not even remember what was in there. I could only cross check against my first bag to see if it would jog my memory.
I take anti-anxiety medication and I felt quite panicked by his intimidating behaviour. He had no people skills whatsoever - a fact acknowledged by the female junior ASU person who examined my first bag who said he can be gruff and advised me to not to rile him by asking him about what was happening.
This was because she could clearly see was happening i.e. that I was getting scared and he was making absolutely NO effort to be HUMANE, never mind kind to me. He refused to tell me what the suspicious item or items in my bag were deemed âhigh threatâ. FYI, the bag contained my purse with my medication, my passport, my Irish & US phones, an iPad, my charging cables and plugs for these items, compression socks, and empty water bottle, intimate personal hygiene products, A book, make up and my wallet, eye mask, earplugs earphones, and a lanyard for carrying my phone safely while travelling.
The experience felt like an INTERROGATION - he was on a total power trip - a fact that was evident when he said I could not complain about my experience as he was the highest authority IN ASU.
THIS WOULD BE LAUGHABLE IF IT WERE NOT SO SERIOUS - if these agents are de facto law officials then DAA need to run a communication campaign to inform the public & have a more accountable and transparent complaints procedure.
Secondly, there needs to be a transparent and step by step guide for passengers so they can be prepared for what would happen in a situation like this and a clear explanation of what you could be asked and the consequences of not being able to answer to the satisfaction of the ASU.
I thought I was going to be arrested by this ignorant goon. I was so terrified by his extreme behaviour I was unable to think straight. I am 64 years of age, a grandmother & travel internationally several times a year. Dublin airport is the only place Iâve ever experienced this type of power-trippy behaviour that this agent inflicted on me. I have been so upset moving through the rest of the airport that Iâve had a panic attack and canât have any lunch I feel so ill.
Just as well for DAAâs sake, as I would be calling Liveline to highlight this experience so that no other person will be put in this position.
At the very least, I should have been dealt with by a female agent. Whether or which, the male ASU supervisor needs significant retraining on how to sensibly and sensitively handle these âhigh threatâ situations. Or better still, put him into no -public facing role.
I will be telling EVERYONE I MEET ABOUT MY EXPERIENCE- it reflects very badly on DAA. And for good measure, I will also be complaining to IAA.

Kill me now I seriously lost the willâŠ
Kill me now I seriously lost the will to live. First I couldnât get the Ryanair baggage machine to print a ticket so had to go to another one. Had bought a fast track security ticket â¬13.99 double the price it was a couple of years ago. Got to security belt only to be told that my liquids and iPad needed to be out of my bag. Why on earth has the main airport in Ireland not got the new security scanners in both terminals. Of course all my liquids were packed all over the place in my bag as I thought I was going through a modern airport. Two members of staff then glared at me as I picked through my case my backpack and another bag. I chucked everything out into a tray by my backpack and they said we donât need everything out. Well obvs I needed to empty my bags out to find my liquids. Finally Iâd got unloaded and went through and surprise surprise my case needed to be searched. They found the liquid but sheâd opened my jewellery box upside down stuff falling out and she was jamming it back in. Had to stop her zipping it up as she was going to break stuff. I had £20k of jewellery in it so I was panic stricken that something had gone on the floor and I hadnât seen it. Took me 20mins to repack my case went into my backpack which hadnât been searched and there was a big handcream in it theyâd missed. Seriously?!!! Went to Butlers cafe and ordered a tea it was given to me and burnt my hand as no wrap round. Off to the gate 118 which is about 750m away. Got there and itâs freezing cold and I have leggings T-shirt hoodie and socks on. To cap it all off my flight is delayed. Iâm so stressed and if I didnât have a drinking problem Iâd be on the gin
Helpful staff
Hi we travelled Dublin to Rome on Aer Lingus at 6.20am. We went through T2 security with the assistance of the lovely Clinton. And everything went smoothly until we got to gate 301 and realised one of our group left money in an envelope at T2 security in the tray. It was a good enough amount. We searched bags and were about to accept its loss but took a chance and went back to T1 security and met the lovely Lauren Brady (I am sure that is her name) she called over to T2 and within 5 mins we had the envelope all contents secure. I canât stress the relief. Thank you to all concerned.
Quick & efficient
Have used it a lot this Summer for both European and long-haul flights. Bag drop and security has always been very quick & efficient. Good customer service too.
Is it that difficult to provide clearâŠ
Is it that difficult to provide clear info on how the self check-in for the bags work? The fact that it is so crowded in that area explains for itself that this isnât clear at all. Then a worker had the nerve to tell me off. Iâm guessing this is the Ryanair effect? Such a shame. Putting up a sign or two isnât all that expensive and will avoid frustration among travellers, but I donât think they care one bit about that.
Airport efficient and most friendly ever!
The most friendly people in any airport I have ever been through!! Effecient and smiles all the way! Way to represent the Green Isles!!!
Homeless shelter for paying customers âŠ
The place is Iâll set up for the amount of overnight traffic it has . Many people are sleeping on the floors , chargers do not work , itâs almost like homeless shelter for paying customers. Needs to improve facilities for passengers with long layovers
Terrible
Very bad. Bad organization, very rude workers at the passport control. If you can avoid it, donât go. We did not have a pleasant experience with this airport. ðððððððððððð
Rude staff and closed at 9:30pm!
I usually like Dublin Airport and use it a lot. I arrived for a 21:50 Ryanair flight to see it was delayed by 55 minutes. So far, so normal.
I then grabbed a coffee and sat down. Two minutes later Iâm told by a miserable and rude man that the coffee shop is shut and I have to leave. Not happy. No sign of opening times. This is before 9pm and the whole airport is shutting down. I take my coffee and drink it then decide to look in the Duty Free shop. Itâs now 9:35pm and theyâve drawn barriers across the shop. I asked a miserable shop worker whatâs going on and he told me the shop closes at 9:45pm. I told him the time and he couldnât care less. He was rude and unhelpful.
Come on Dublin. Why does an international airport effectively close at 9:30pm? Why do you employ rude and miserable staff? Is it because you couldnât care less and have a captive audience?
A complete shamblesâŠ
Dublin Airport T2 Parking - a complete money spinning mess.
1. No access to level 3 (arrivals level) for passengers. This means unless you are a registered / paying extra charges / taxi then you cannot get direct access to the level you need to be on.
2. All other levels are packed / full / busy with drivers looking for parking spaces.
3. Lifts servicing the parking levels are full / busy or not working.
4. The Pay and Go staff operating the office on level 3, are disinterested and unhelpful. When I suggested that the system needed improving, a female member of staff with an American accent, replied that this is how it has always worked, and to stop giving her âa hard timeâ. The whole experience was unprofessional and unsatisfactory.
