We travelled over to Dublin on Friday 10th July and back Sunday 12th. My sister needed assistance travel due to recent knee replacement. On both occasions at Dublin airport we were assisted by a cha... もっと見る

Loved my trip but the airport…
Loved my trip but the airport experience was not fun. We decided that next time you we won't bother purchasing tickets to a lounge because even if you show up 3.5 hours early, you don't get to spend the time in there anyway because rental car and security take forever. You can't get your money back from the lounges even if it was the airport's faut. I am an avid traveler so traveling is not new for me. It's also alot of standing around with no place to sit so not great for anyone with any sort of injury or disability. My father was in alot of pain while we had to wait.
Archaic undersized airport stuck in the '80s
The airport is way undersized for the volume of passengers. Line ups to washrooms, not enough seating, bad signage directions, no phone charging stations, seats in eating areas in disrepair, and intercom announcing flights is unintelligible.
worst airport ever!!!!
horrible people worst airport ever my brothers bag fit in the bag sizer and we still got charged €60!!!!! mind you this was a gear bag that fits perfectly under the seat R.I.D.I.C.U.L.O.U.S never coming back here ever again such a bad place even the staff were rude about the situation.
had to pay €60 for no reason
We were boarding our flight from Dublin back to Kerry. We were going through the boarding system where you show your passport and boarding pass before getting on plane. I was with my boyfriend’s family and one of his family members got called out for a bag check in the Ryanair bag check boxes. His bag fit perfectly in but they still charged him €60 EXTRA even though it fit in the box. The staff were rude about the situation and were incredibly rude in general. Not a lot of people can be affording an extra €60 just like that and the thing is THE BAG FIT IN THE BOX. Most horrible people ever and so miserable. No sympathy for anyone.
Missed flight due to Unnecessary rescanning
Brought a gadget for the holiday which was scanned 3 times! Took time to scan the luggages and inside it during the security screen, less staff around ti do the screening it was around 5:40 am. Missed our flight because of it. Begged the staff if he could checked ours first coz we will miss the flight but instead grabbed the item and rescanned again for the 3rd time. Cost me 600€ for the rebooking.
Extremely rude bag check woman was…
Extremely rude bag check woman was sarcastic to me on two occasions 2 years apart: Calling me over and asking me "Am I your wife?" and leaving me to guess what I did wrong. Apparently I didn't push a bag 1 ft over onto the conveyer belt. Apparently not understanding the rules in this one specific airport when every single airport has different rules merits a highly unprofessional sarcastic comment. In fact in some you just put your bag on the counter and the staff will just drag it along themselves to the conveyer belt without some entitled allergic to work overreaction.
The fear would be on me to speak to anyone in that matter if I was working a customer-facing job. But I suppose Dublin Airport just doesn't care enough to discipline these kind of people or give them the boot as she's still there two years later. Other staff were nice enough though. I also reported this incident through the Customer Experience form on the Dublin Airport website.
One of the worst airports in Europe
One of the worst airports in Europe. Overcrowded, backlogged and understaffed security screening, frequently turned away from the T1 lounge due to max capacity, Liffey Lounge has old and stained seating, unfriendly staff throughout the airport.
The staff in pret are all so kind
The staff in pret are all so kind. All the staff are clearly making an effort to ensure the customers are enjoying their experience. All going above and beyond.
Had the most amazing few days in Dublin…
Had the most amazing few days in Dublin with my friend. However on our return journey treatment by one female at security was disgusting not only to us but to an elderly lady also very rude and threw her tray back at her never seen anything like it in my life clearly she is in the wrong job!!!!!!!
Airport mad busy
Airport mad busy, ques horrendous no seats at the gate.. awful but that won’t bother them! And as for Ryan air, no comment
If I could give zero stars I would
If I could give zero stars I would. It is the worst airport in Europe. Massively over crowded. Security staff rude nasty & ignorant. Horrible to passengers treating us as if we are all idiots. Old airport not capable of dealing with this massive amount of passengers pushing us through as if we were a herd of sheep. I never want to use it again. In future will use Standstead or Manchester to Shannon. Look at Copenhagen Airport & see how smoothly it runs, with well trained & polite staff, you might learn something.
Cannot put zero stars
Cannot put zero stars - treated like an imbecile by member of staff and the manager - will never use burger king again. Unfortunately I had paid for the meal otherwise I would have walked. I needed to eat as a diabetic and I am 71 years old and severely mobility reduced. Please do not support these idiots they do not deserve your custom
A great experience at Dublin airport…
A great experience at Dublin airport for both arrival and leaving. Everything signposted well and everyone who works here has been so helpful. Special assistance staff were so kind and helpful and the food concession staff were great particularly the Food Village and Pret A Manger. Regular updates on flights keep passengers informed. Very impressed.
No a happy customer I done drop and go…
No a happy customer I done drop and go didn't wanna leave my keys but was made I returned back and I had medication stolen from my car I had to make a report to garda and not a phone call or nothing there controlled drugs that where taken my passenger seat was moved 🙃 as for prm assist there dreadful 🙃
Poor quality security checks
Nothing to complain about in general about the airport, but I think the security checks are inadequate (T1 terminal):
- first of all, despite the relative calm of the time, great confusion of everything: noises, confused people, security personnel drumming on trays or whistling and anything else that can serve to make the atmosphere tense;
- unlike my last trip a year ago (when they told me not to take the PC out of the suitcase - thanks to the latest generation scanners), now it is mandatory to remove PCs and similar electronic devices (that is, instead of progressing they have regressed: I do not know the reason, which they surely have)...
- some things didn't pass through the personal scanner (as can often happen): one of these were shoes with metal parts: I was requested to took them off, then the operator put them in a new tray and passed them through the luggage scanner, and left me to stand and walk barefoot ... :(
- the prevailing average attitude of the operators was very critical and accusatory, as if they always had a drug dealer or a violent person in front of them, which is not the case in most other airports I've known;
- several operators, by image and manner, are rather "crude".
Irritating the travelers doesn't prove they guarantee greater safety and are better than other airports... If anything, it shows the opposite.
Update your website
Update your website! Very frustrating to have outdated info! Especially when traveling with kids! I spent ages looking for the terminal 2 playarea , that no longer exists. But still appears listed on your website.
Good and bad
Good and bad. This was my first experience of departing from Dublin Airport. There was a big jam at the security queues although a marshal tried to direct customers to the best line. Shoe removal was inconsistent.
I got to the scanner and was sent back to put my normal shoes (not thick soles or anything) in a tray. I waited whilst they caught up only to find them going to the examination channel. From there they were sent back again whilst I stood for longer without shoes. Eventually I spotted them come through again to the safe channel. But no one kept me informed. Why not just search them?
The staff were polite but pushed that service needs an overhaul. The rest of the airport was much cleaner than Heathrow. The walks were hugely long though.
Overall I would use fast track and a lounge next time
Wins prize for consistently the worst airport I have ever used
Repeatedly, over many years, the worst airport in the world I have used over 4 continents and many countries. It is hateful. Hugely overcrowded in every part, à human zoo. unique to Dublin Airport is the reeking toxic cloud of multiple’perfumes in duty free that follows you as far as the food section. In hindsight, don’t recall another airport where it is still possible to smell as you are arriving into a food area. Loud music in food court area not helpful.sensory overload in the extreme from the moment you go in the front door.
Security appears to have gone into overdrive recently for checking hand luggage. Felt sorry for staff, they were all pleasant and apologetic. But as other times recently, 50% of crowd having to wait, in a crowd, while baggage screened manually and à further X-ray check. As before, nothing suspect found in anyone’s bags.
Having eaten à number of times at this airport, consistently bad, never again. 2 toasted sandwiches, small portion of chips, 2 apple juices - €31. To add insult to injury, 20 mins later I was doubled over with stomach pain which lasted until after I arrived at my destination, husband sick all night. Dinner for 2 last night in Italy, €28.
constant and persistent problem of all passengers being crowded down a stairwell to wait 30 mins for planes that are never ready, sometimes not landed. IS THIS AIRPORT EXEMPT FROM HEALTH AND FIRE SAFETY REGULATIONS??????? So unwell after ‘food’. I used lift to get to the bottom and had to crouch bended over against a wall with stomach pain, numerous older adults, people on crutches etc. having to stand around also. People kept pouring down the lift despite the fact that there was no space at the bottom, stairwell already unsafely overcrowded , one man asked airport staff twice to stop further people coming down the lift which was causing further crushing. He was pointedly ignored both times.
Won’t bother going in to expense and distance from airport to various car parks, when using shuttle bus. This already a common complaint among everyone I know who uses airport. Feel particularly sorry for people with small children struggling in this situation. As for drop and go, as long as you keep asking staff for directions, quite manageable on the way in. Instructions include, ‘ keep an eye out for a Spar, and walk around the back of it’. First time I used, arriving back late at night, kept meeting people in unusual places, wrong car park, wrong floor, going up and down lifts, 4 bewildered at a bus stop, all trying to find right car park. Signposting dismal.
This airport is to be avoided if at all possible. Use other Irish airports for American flights, particularly long haul, to London and then direct to destination works well. Common device used by citizens living in the South and along the Western seaboard is to use a local airport to fly to a country of your choice and then transfer into neighbouring country which is your actual destination (obviously, not convenient for many, but if you are renting a car, well worth it). One person we know has flown to Poland and transferred this way to Germany to avoid Dublin airport.
And this airport is objecting to a passenger cap !!!!!! AVOID IF AT ALL POSSIBLE
Utterly disgusting behaviour by T1…
Utterly disgusting behaviour by T1 security staff. I was rushing to catch my flight and had a small trolley. I was about to take my bags off the trolley to go through the check in, when this man shouted at me to leave the trolley. So I rushed and brought the trolley to the wall, where other three trolleys were left previously. He then shouted that I had to bring it all the way down where I took it from... I told him I had to go to catch the flight and that my bags were heavy to carry, when he threatened not to let me through barriers. I was then stopped by the female guard on the other side of barriers, who made me wait for the supervisor. I was very distressed fearing I would miss my flight back to my son. The supervisor made me apologize to the staff who was a bully. Wait for this. Both of my bags were then searched by a security guy of similar origins as the first bully. He didn't hide the fact he was asked to do this by his colleague. I asked what his name was and he lied about his name. Jack is never a name of someone from Eastern countries. Immediately another security colleague rushed to me and shouted if I wanted to catch the flight. He basically was threatening me that they can detain me simply because I was asking questions . On my question about what his name was he said 'none of your business'. I hope someone will call gardai on them because it was a harassment. Someone in charge hired these bullies and they have to be fired. Put me off to come back. It's better to take a ferry next time.
Fast track security were so rude
The staff in fast track security were SO rude. Have been in 5 airport s in the past two weeks. And this time I forgot to empty my water bottle. They were giving out to me
The airport should have a place to empty water people are human they do forget sometimes. But to give out to me the way they did! Not acceptable! Otherwise everyone else were very nice in the airport
