Excellent service.
The staff who collected my husband, Ellen who came to see us, Tracey who helped when we visited the office and Tom who escorted us to the crematorium were so considerate and caring. They made a very difficult time easier for my family. Thank you all very much.

Tom, Ellen and all the team at East Durham Funeral Service are nothing short of amazing. Funerals are not the easiest things to organise but they made it very easy with their very caring, friendly and compassionate manner. They always go above and beyond the call of duty and nothing is a bother to them. Because it's a family ran business, they understand the importance of the care of our loved ones from start to finish and deliver this to perfection. We have used them on several occasions and would never hesitate to highly recommend them.

A huge thank you to the team at East Durham Funeral Service. They looked after my dad with dignity and respect and took care of us every step of the way with care and compassion.

They worked with us to ensure everything went perfect and that we had an amazing celebrant, Joanne at Caritas Ceremonies, who could help us share my Dad’s life story.

At every stage they guided us and made sure we and everything we wanted was in place working seamlessly with Joanne, Durham Crem, the web stream provider and the florist.

On the passing of my husband I telephoned East Durham Funeral Homes who from the initial phone call were very helpful and compassionate throughout. Tom came to visit us as a family and discussed the process with ourselves to ensure my husband had the funeral which we all wanted. When family members wished to visit the Chapel of Rest they were very welcoming and gave us the time that we needed to say our goodbyes. Thank you to Tom and Ellen for an excellent service.

East Durham funeral homes in ere fabulous in helping plan my dad’s funeral. Everything came together beautifully to give my dad the best send off.

My cousin passed away suddenly and , as next of kin , I had to arrange a dignified and suitable funeral service but this was complicated as I live 350 miles away . Tom Maddison at East Durham Funeral Service was very helpful and supportive, guiding me as to the most cost effective solution. The service was beautifully arranged and it all went very smoothly on the day .

Very caring & professional service, Tom was very courteous & sympathetic when he first came to see us, the kindness & support carried on through Ellen whenever we had questions or needed to make adjustments/requests and Charlotte for the professional way she carried out the proceedings on the day of my Dads funeral & looking after us all. A very good service provided at very sad time for us as a family.

Cannot recommend East Durham Funeral Service high enough. Very professional and Sensitive staff. They explained the whole process and arranged everything in accordance with our wishes. They dealt with all our queries and concerns promptly and efficiently whether by phone or by email, to ensure the whole day went as smoothly as possible.

Ours was a simple funeral, and EDFS were professional and dignified throughout. Very helpful staff were able to find the details of a previous funeral which we wanted to use as a reference. Communication was excellent and there was no pressure or "up-selling". They arranged everything with the vicar and the Crematorium and the whole process was seamless. It was at the cheaper end of the price range, but that didn't make us feel any less important.

All our wishes were fulfilled without question, all staff showed help and kindness throughout. Nothing is too much trouble and always available when needed. Highly recommended.
