Escape Lounge Bristol
Escape Lounge Bristol. Having read a number of negative reviews on here, I have found during our visit to Escape lounge Bristol airport this week - we found the complete opposite. Accommodating (which was helpful given Ryanair's unhelpful check-in process). Reasonable food - its not Ala-carte - but it is absolutely fine for what we paid and very helpful and polite staff (Big shout out to Alicia on front desk). All in all - a good experience and i give them all 5 star for this.
Poor customer service, misleading advertising, not larger family friendly, not considerate of adults and children with additional needs
Having utilised the lounge separately in the past, my family and myself were very excited to book it for our upcoming trip to Florida. Being a family of 9 travelling together; grandparents, parents, aunties and children (including a newborn), some of whom have anxiety and other additional needs, the calm atmosphere of the lounge was something we knew would help, for us to have a positive start to the trip. When we went online to book we were very disappointed to see that groups of over 6 were not allowed. We called to double check this, with being a family and not a group for a hen/stag etc and were told it was a blanket no.
A while later we saw a post on their social media platform encouraging to book with your family. We commented that we had tried, however groups of over 6 were not allowed. They responded publicly saying this was not the case and to DM them for them to sort. As you can imagine this was great news for us and we were once again excited that our airport experience would be better. However, in the DM, when no longer a public forum, Christian from Escape simply said âcall this number, you can try but there is no guaranteeâ a very different message to the one shared publicly. We tried calling, as that is what he advised, in order to request the booking and spoke to Aisha, who immediately said no, it is a blanket no on all group bookings between July and October. I asked if exceptions were made for families and said I understood the rule in terms of groups of adults who may go heavy on the inclusive alcohol and be loud. I also explained about the additional needs we were travelling with and explained we were looking for calm and so certainly wouldnât be disruptive. At first she said the no was because they needed to to give the lounge opportunity to as many people as possible. I explained that be it several individuals or a group, you are still giving the same number of people the opportunity. She then said it was to maintain the quality of the experience in the lounge. I questioned whether she felt my family would alter that quality, again saying I see the argument for hen/stag or large adult parties but not families. At this point she said she would end the call as I was shouting, I was not shouting at all, it wasnât really something to be angry about, I was more trying to understand the policy. She just kept saying there are no exceptions. I queried if we would get access had we paid to fly Premier, she confirmed that we would. I therefore said so there are exceptions? Can you please consider our case. Again she got very defensive and rude, told me she was unwilling to discuss it further and ended the call. I fed this back to Christian via social media, who again was very little use. He told me I should try earlier next time as the lounge must be at capacity. At this point I am still 8 weeks from travelling and have been looking into this for quite some time (this as you see from the start of the message was a second attempt at getting the lounge on Christianâs recommendation, we had tried months before). I told him it was nothing to do with capacity or trying earlier, no one asked for a date or time, they said it was the month that was the issue. He didnât seem to grasp that.
A post went on their social media shortly after, encouraging families to book the lounge for the summer holidays. I commented underneath that it would be helpful to make it clear that families over 6 would not be able to book in order to avoid disappointment. My comment and previous comment were both deleted and I was blocked from the page. My comments were not rude nor inflammatory (I have copies as I screenshot them luckily) it is therefore clear that to try and maintain a positive name, they delete and block customers who have less than positive views of the company. This is very dishonest and not transparent, hence me wanting to create this review.
The service I received via messages and over the phone was not positive nor helpful at all. A blanket ânoâ rule with no clear justification is unhelpful and felt discriminatory, particularly how higher cost flight packages were allowed. No adjustments were made for customers with additional needs and the implication is made that all groups bigger than 6 impact the quality of the lounge, only during peak times though, they donât care about it for the rest of the year.
Based on the customer service received we would not use the lounge again.
Bristol - really poor, canât cope with the demandâŠ
The Escape Lounge at Bristol is almost impossible to get in, always âfullâ but plenty of empty seats and tables - I donât think they like being busy. The lady who I assume is the manager is the most miserable and unwelcoming person in a customer service role.
Generally a nice experience, a bit scruffy
Generally a nice experience, good food and drink, relaxing environment. Carpet was disgustingly dirty, WC sink tap broken and generally tired decoration.
Escape Lounge or prison food???
Had the experience of visiting Bristol Escape Lounge on my first holiday since my stint in HMP Belmarsh. Thought I would splash the cash and treat the family. What a mistake this was, I would be better of sticking with the prison food as it was better quality and more of a variety!!
Great start to the holiday!
Harriet is is soo amazing super friendly and Emily behind the bar is working so hard to make everyone happy! Harriet looked after us so well and made this a lovely experience.also Kristina was so helpful ( who walks like a super mode btwl) and works so hard too! Thank you biveay & saffa (sorry if not spelt right!) You were great and so lovely . What a fantastic start to our holiday! - thank you all so much! â¥
Never any seats
Never any seats, awful experience every time. Staff donât care. What is the point? Might as well just close it they take peoples money but provide zero experience
Bristol Escape Lounge: Appalling service and rude staff.
Appalling service and rude staff.
When I arrived the attendant was in some sort of dispute with a customer who was before me. When it was my turn to be served he was rude and dismissive and a suggested the venue was full (there were loads of empty seats). I guess he has a process to follow regarding permitting access but it appears there was more focus on restricting the number of people as he let slip he starts to close things down at 7pm (earlier than the actual closing time) despite me having a booking. His sniggering assistant didn't help and they could both benefit from training in customer service.
Awful
Escape lounge (stansted airport) might be one of the most depressing places I've ever been to (and I've been to Norwich). It's a godless place, like being at a funeral except your dead, and everyone around you is dead and no one is mourning your death except a local council representative
I was more comfortable in one of the sofas in the terminal itself.
I'm not a fan of writing bad reviews, but now I want to use it to inform everyone who wants to book the Escape Lounge.
I was received by a more than nice and polite host. Once inside I felt somewhat disappointed. I was on my own so I was placed on a stool in a corner at a bar table. The other option was a small leather armchair with a tiny side table. Because, according to the host, many guests (groups) were still expected, I was not allowed to sit at a nice table with nice chairs. However, I never saw those guys, there was just room for me. I offered to stand up if the chairs had to be made available for groups, but that was not an option because then the table would have to be cleaned additionally......
You would expect a lounge to provide you with an oasis of peace, where you can relax while you wait for your flight. After all, you pay a hefty amount for some extra luxury, but some restaurants at the airport are cozier and more furnished as a lounge than the Escape Lounge. The food was also not very tasty and you had to eat it from small plates with very small cutlery.
All in all, unfortunately very disappointed. If you have to cover some hours at Bristol Airport, the Escape Lounge offers absolutely no added value. I was more comfortable in one of the sofas in the terminal itself.
Avoid bristol escape lounge
Avoid bristol escape lounge. There is no selection of food and drink, it's dirty, no electric points working and no WiFi. There was no selection for kids, If you go in a group as there was 6 of us, we couldn't sit together as the lounge had reserved seats for other people even though we had booked the lounge
Unfair Additional Charges
Supposedly Priority Pass (already paid for) gives you access, but you have to pay an additional fee to reserve space at the lounge (this is for Escape Lounge in Bristol)! Previously when I hadn't paid this "reservation fee" they said the lounge was full!
Awful service value proposition, and just seems like money-squeezing as much as possible... I'm shocked this is allowed.
Disappointing
Title: Mixed Feelings at Escape Lounge, Bristol Airport
Review:
During my recent visit to Bristol Airport, I decided to spend some time at the Escape Lounge, anticipating a comfortable and relaxing experience before my flight. Right off the bat, I was greeted by incredibly friendly staff, which was a promising start. Their warm welcomes and readiness to assist made a notable impression, showcasing their commitment to customer service.
However, my initial enthusiasm was somewhat dampened as I explored the lounge further. The selection of food available was rather limited, lacking the variety and quality I've encountered in other airport lounges. This aspect was disappointing, especially considering the entrance fee.
Moreover, the lounge's overall appearance left much to be desired. It's evident that the place could benefit from a renovation. The seating areas, in particular, showed signs of wear and tear, with many seats appearing tired and worn. This detracted from the overall ambiance and comfort that are typically sought after in such settings.
In comparison to the numerous other lounges I've visited, the Escape Lounge at Bristol Airport didn't quite meet my expectations, especially when considering the cost to gain entry. While the staff's friendliness was a highlight, it wasn't enough to compensate for the shortcomings in food variety and lounge upkeep.
In conclusion, based on this experience, the value for the entry fee to the Escape Lounge does not align with the standards seen elsewhere. For future visits, I hope to see improvements that could potentially make the lounge more competitive and worth the visit.
To say I am disappointed is anâŠ
To say I am disappointed is an understatement, I arrived with friends for a 7am flight, we booked the lounge as we were travelling from Swansea and wanted to have somewhere to relax and have some food before flying on our weekend break, we went to the lounge and were shown to our table, a bit disappointed as the area was tatty and the seats werenât the best, the covers were torn and very shabby.
We were told to help ourselves to breakfast which we did, on picking up what I thought was hot breakfast and took it back to the table, the bacon was cold, not warm but cold this was early morning so you would expect it to be fresh and warm but Cold is unacceptable, the hash brown were Luke warm and so was the scrambled egg.
One of the our group went to reception area and asked for the complaint procedure and was told âŠ. They donât have one!!! What!!!! They donât have a complaint procedure what sort of business is this? She asked to speak to a manager and was told that she was speaking to herâŠ., she would not give her name and said she would get her GM to email her.
We then had ONE round of drinks and within minutes a security guy came over and asked what the problem was, so he was told The whole story and then said âŠ.. what do you expect her to do about the state on the seats!!! Totally unprofessional all around and then he said âŠ.. They want you to leave, we paid over £30 for COLD FOOD sitting in a shabby area were asked to leave âŠ. Absolutely disgraceful⊠AVOID AVOID AVOID
Appalling experience
Visited escape lounge at stansted, we paid £45 each at the door, but it appaling. Tastless food, poor quality, not much choices, both coffee machines are broken, not much space to relax either, highly disappointed. Lounge looks tired, no toilets either.
Never again Staff friendly
Staff friendly , but food is terrible , sloppy cottage pie or green curry which looked like puke . Didnât taste much better either .
Second time here , thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt being new after a terrible opening week , but no improvement whatsoever , far better off spending money in the outside bars .
Can't talk to them
Most companies want to avoid talking to their customers but these people take it to another level, we booked for Bristol, they took the money, no confirmation email, impossible to talk to anyone about Bristol
The worst service found in an airport
The worst service found in an airport. If you don't have a reservation you don't get in and from the website even days before you can't book. Wasted money. To be avoided.
Poor food quality
Poor food quality. Absolutely packed sat on hard chairs. Food was sausage chicken legs and scrambled eggs. Few sandwiches egg or cheese. Plastic seats. Plenty of named brand alcohol. Nice coffee from machine. But for 80 quid I expected more. Very disappointed will not book again
