nice car and friendly fast service, tx for the free upgrade :)

fully satisfied with the service and the car. I had some doubts at first but after they explain the terms all went smooth and fast. for sure I will return and for sure I will take again the insurance to be relaxed!

Abbiamo fatto la prenotazione on lone pagando la somma. Arrivati al ritiro in Romania ci dicono che per la cauzione accettano solo carte di credito con numeri a rilievo. Ovviamente in Italia non ci sono piu'. Morale della favola abbiamo dovuto pagare altr 140€ per ritirare la macchina e azzerare la cauzione. Assurdo quando il noleggio per 4 gg lo abbiamo pagato solo 4€!!!! Attenzione ⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️

Am avut o experiență extrem de neplăcută cu compania Expedicar Otopeni (AutoRevolution SRL).

Procesul de preluare a mașinii a durat peste o oră la biroul de închirieri, timp în care agenții au insistat să îmi vândă o asigurare suplimentară foarte scumpă (triplu decât închiriatul mașinii), deși aveam deja asigurarea mea. De-asemenea nu au vrut să recunoască cardul meu de credit Visa emis de o bancă importantă din Canada. Această asigurare și Visa credit card nu a fost recunoscută, fiind practic forțat să accept blocarea unui depozit foarte mare (pe același Visa credit card)

Am returnat mașina în exact aceeași stare în care am primit-o, fără nicio daună și cu rezervorul plin. Cu toate acestea, depozitul în valoare de 3.722 CAD a fost blocat și nu a fost returnat nici după 3 luni de la închiriere.

Deși am făcut numeroase solicitări prin intermediul VIPCars.com, nu am primit un răspuns clar sau o soluționare. În plus, compania nu răspunde nici la emailuri și nici la mesajele trimise pe WhatsApp.

Consider această situație lipsită de profesionalism, transparență și respect față de clienți. Nu recomand Expedicar / AutoRevolution SRL celor care intenționează să închirieze o mașină de la această companie.

En primer lugar, tras realizar el pago y finalizar el contrato, nos informaron que el seguro todo riesgo no cubría elementos como las llantas, los neumáticos, los asientos interiores y otros daños graves, quedando estos costes a nuestro cargo. Esta información no se nos comunicó de forma clara antes de la firma, lo que nos ha causado una gran sorpresa y preocupación.
En segundo lugar, durante el alquiler, notificamos un incidente a su equipo pero no recibimos respuesta ni asistencia hasta la devolución del vehículo. Finalmente, tras devolver el coche, se nos pidió un importe adicional sin una explicación concreta sobre los daños supuestamente no cubiertos.
Por todo lo anterior, no quedé satisfecho con la experiencia, ya que no fue la esperada para un servicio con seguro todo riesgo. Antes de firmar el contrato asegúrense muy bien y preguntes porque engañas solo por cobrar pero el servicio es pésimo.

Ho noleggiato tramite il sito discovercars.com, mai più, arrivo li quasi mi obbligano a fare con loro un assicurazione di 120€ per 2 giorni, minacciando che la cauzione sarà bloccata per 3 mesi, io la rifiuto, al rientro mi addebitano 80€ per il lavaggio, perché su una fiancata c'erano schizzi di fango. Ci poteva anche stare il lavaggio ok ma 80€ un lavaggio in romania???? Mai più

My hire vehicle should have been a Skoda Karoq or similar. I was provided with a Toyota Compact High Rider. I had 4 passengers with me, hence the additional boot space in the Karoq was essential. I made mention of this and was told that this was the only vehicle immediately available. We had to leave the parcel shelf with the company in order to maximise the space available in the vehicle and still had some bags on laps. What was the point in paying the additional fee for a larger car in the first place?

Dubious practice during return procedure. Fresh vertical (could not, therefore, have been as a result of manoeuvring) scratch mark found on the rear nearside bumper corner as well as a jagged horizontal scratch inside the vehicle on the driver side transmission channel cover. I wore soft training shoes throughout my 32 hours in Bucharest and with my limited time in the vehicle, I could not see how this damage could have been attributed to me. It occurred to me afterward that the Inspection was carried out by one individual over an extended period whilst the other engaged my Son and I in conversation about our trip. DO NOT leave the person inspecting the vehicle unsupervised as we did. I am convinced that both area’s of ‘damage’ was caused during this ‘Inspection.’
Further, I had the vehicle for a little over a day. The weather, aside from a light overnight mist, was clear and dry. Yet, the staff member implied that he was doing me a favour by not charging a fee for returning the vehicle in a ‘dirty’ condition. I challenged this and he said that it is often dusty in Bucharest and that is why a film often covers vehicle’s when they are returned. I countered this by saying that I would not clean my own car on a daily basis and asked if he was seriously suggesting that a car hire of only 32 hours duration should conclude with a mandatory wash before it’s return? There was no comment.

Lastly, as time was pressing before our return flight, I paid the ‘damage’ as assessed by the company representative. Thankfully, I had also taken out additional Insurance. However, as I had made payment in full, I was assured that my £1900 security deposit would be returned the following day. Despite three reminders, this did not materialise until 7 days later.

Easy booking the car, we picked up the car early morning and a quick stop at the office we were on our way. The car was excellent we were really happy with the car and service. Would definitely recommend and use again. We felt with San was very courteous, helpful and polite.

Serious warning: Misleading practices and deposit abuse!!

Be extremely careful with ExpediCar / AutoRevolution (Bucharest). Our experience shows a pattern designed to lure customers with attractive prices and then extract money afterward through questionable “fees” regarding the condition of the car on delivery.

At pickup, everything appears routine: competitive rate, smooth handover, and a standard credit card deposit presented as a pre-authorisation (although they seem to have also some problems with the credit card). However, after returning the vehicle, we discovered that the deposit was not merely blocked but actually charged, without prior notice, consent, invoice, or clear contractual basis.

The company implied a so-called “cleaning fee”, even though:

- The car was returned in a very good condition.
- The vehicle was already not properly cleaned at pickup, a fact acknowledged by their own agent.
- Access to their return location is via muddy/dirt roads, making light dust unavoidable.

This creates the strong impression of a setup: vague terms, lack of transparency, and post-rental charges taken from deposits, counting on customers being tired, traveling, or unwilling to fight afterward or like us in hurry to catch a flight.

Legitimate rental companies release deposits promptly and provide clear documentation for any charge. This company did neither.

Based on our experience, this business model relies on misleading pricing and unjustified deposit deductions rather than honest service. We strongly advise future renters to avoid this company or document absolutely everything if they proceed or better rent on another rental company nearby for piece of mind really, it doesn't worth the hustle with this one.

Needed a 7 seater for business trip to brasov with colleagues. Car was spotless inside plenty of room for everyone and luggage. Price was very reasonable for 3 days. Much better than competitors.

Excellent service! Rented for a week and got exactly what i needed. Car was clean full tank and everything worked perfectly. Would definitely come back.

I rented a car from Expedicar.ro through VIPCars.com in September 2025.
The representative was late, refused valid UK credit cards because they weren’t embossed (something not stated anywhere), and pressured me to buy expensive insurance.

The car was dirty and not properly inspected — I found additional scratches they hadn’t recorded. Upon return, they charged me €250 for minor scratches that were clearly pre-existing and impossible to see at pickup.

This company appears to use unfair tactics to extract extra charges from customers.

Avoid them at all costs.

The company is charging extra for damages that are not visible. Just read all the 1 star reviews. All the 5 star reviews here and on google are probably fake. The final rating may be good but it's a scam.

Price so expensive!

This company is a real shame and should not be allowed to run close to an international airport - they are robbers and try by many ways to pick up unhonest money from their customers (insurance, unexisting damages , … )

They do not understand that car renting and customer satisfaction is a long term journey …

To avoid in any case , we have introduced an official claim with the Airport & Romanian National Authorithy of Consumer Protection

Vorsicht!
Wir haben schon oft Autos gemietet, in Europa, Asien und Russland, aber das war mit Abstand unsere schlechteste Erfahrung!
Zunächst wollten wir das Auto im Zentrum von Bukarest abholen. Aber „Alesio“ lotste uns vom Zentrum zum Flughafen(Strada Gratioasa 18). In einem Büro hinter einem blickdichten und abgeschlossen Zaun stand nur das eine Auto und wir wurden von gleich drei(!) jungen Männern empfangen. Zunächst waren sie freundlich, aber als wir keine zusätzliche Versicherung abschließen wollten drehte sich das schlagartig und sie unterhielten sich nur noch hektisch auf rumänisch untereinander. Wir inspizierten optisch das Fahrzeug und sollten schnell unterschreiben. Auf Schäden wurde seitens der Jungs absichtlich nicht hingewiesen. Wir sollten sie selbst finden und ihnen zeigen. Da war uns schon klar wie das endet. Und so war es auch. Beim abgeben des Fahrzeuges das gleiche Spiel. Nur diesmal waren es vier(!) junge Männer die uns empfangen haben und es stand wieder kein weiteres Auto auf dem Hof. Weil wir das Auto beim abholen rundum per Video und Fotos dokumentierten, konnten sie uns die kleinen Schäden, die das Fahrzeug vorher schon hatte, nicht anhängen. Sie liefen mit drei Leuten solange um das Auto, tasteten es sogar ab, bis sie unten links UNTER dem Schweller einen Kratzer fühlten und meinten, das könnte beim einparken passiert sein.
Frechheit! Als wir auf die merkwürdige Praxis aufmerksam gemacht haben und wortlos gingen mussten wir uns noch beim verlassen des Gehöftes Beleidigungen anhören!
Das Auto war an sich ok, allerdings verlor car play im Auto(mit zwei iPhones getestet) sporadisch die Verbindung, die Reifenkontrollanzeige hatte eine Warnung und das oil Level war low.
Wir haben das Fahrzeug in einem tadellosen Zustand abgeben, waschen und innen reinigen lassen! Andernfalls drohen übrigens 200€ Gebühr! Punkt 3.11 im Vertrag!
Die Spitze war der "Schadensbericht" der kurze Zeit später per Mail kam. In dem wurde noch ein Kratzer im Innenraum und an einer Felge moniert! Die Rechnung lautet 6760 lei(1300€)!!!
Wir werden der Versicherung von Booking.com empfehlen die Rechnung nicht zu begleichen und wegen Betrugs zu ermitteln.

¡Extorsionadores profesionales! Usan excusas falsas para robarte.

Esta compañía es una vergüenza y se dedica a estafar a los clientes. Al recoger el vehículo en Otopeni (Bucarest), los empleados rechazaron de forma fraudulenta mi tarjeta de crédito con la excusa de que "no tenía relieve", a pesar de ser una tarjeta bancaria perfectamente válida.
Esta maniobra fue un pretexto para obligarnos a pagar un seguro adicional de 932.96 €
Lo más indignante es que la misma tarjeta que supuestamente no valía fue usada sin ningún problema para cobrar el importe del seguro. Esto no fue un error, fue una extorsión premeditada y con descaro.
No solo se aprovecharon de nuestra situación, sino que además mostraron una actitud agresiva en un momento de máxima vulnerabilidad. ¡Huyan de esta empresa! Solo buscan engañar a los clientes para cobrarles cantidades desorbitadas de dinero. No confíen en sus contratos, todo es un fraude para robarles.

This company runs on offering very low prices and then either 1) offer you extremely expensive insurance or 2) search for the tiniest scratches (often non existing) upon returning the car and charge ridiculous amounts of money for it. We were charged 300 Euro for non existing damage on some plastic part inside. Just some dirt from our shoes!

This exact same practice has been reported by so many people.

Avoid renting here! Be extremely sceptic about the 5-star reviews! Their business model is based on scamming our insurance companies or you!

BEWARE SCAMMERS!

The company is a total scam, avoid at all cost. They behave politely, but don't let their politeness fool you: everything they do is to charge you more with hidden costs on ridiculous claims.

When I came to pick up a car, the company representative (Bogdan) made me pay for the extra insurance (despite the fact that I've already had one) for the exaggerated cost (more than actual price for the renting itself), because as he said he couldn't assure my credit card is actually credit and not the debit one, even though my card is an American Express one, from the company that is known for making credit cards ONLY (by the way, he had known that fact, as he told me by himself). I asked to talk to his manager, which just repeated the same ridiculous claim. I've also tried to talk to the booking.com itself to rule the situation, but the only resolution the had for me is to refund my original extra insurance, which was of course much more cheaper (about a third of the cost of the proposed by the company one).

And, the icing on the cake: when I've returned the car, the company representative (Gabriel) which accepted the car, told me "Well I see that everything is OK, the fuel and so, could you just sign here to approve that, and I'll send you the receipt by mail in a couple of minutes". So I signed, but when I've received the receipt, it stated that the car had 4 (FOUR) active damages with photos attached. Now, it's ridiculous, because he didn't take any pictures before asking me to sign, and in fact, those photos was taken about A MONTH AGO (there's a timestamp inside the jpeg file), which means it couldn't be damages made by me.
