Poor customer service
We've been with Express scripts going on 5 year's. This will be our last. They changed and not for the better when Cigna acquired them...

I called them yesterday afternoon about their refusal to accept a new prescription that the doctor ordered. They gave an alternate that they accepted. I was transferred 4 times. That last person said it wasn't covered in the plan. Yet we have the highest plan they offer...

I was prompted to set up a delivery for medication, and I informed Express Scripts, known to me as Accredo, that I needed to know how much it was going to cost before I consented to the shipment. I was told an estimate of $1,908 and that it could be adjusted once my insurance, Regence, was contacted, and the copay amount confirmed. We set up a tentative shipment date of March 8, 2023, reassured that I could cancel. The medication arrived at my doctor's office, The Portland Clinic, on February 28, 2023, unknown to me until they called to set up an appointment for injection. I refused as I was never told how much I would owe if I went forward with the injection. I attempted to call Regence myself for an estimate but they were not able to give me one without a Diagnosis Code, Procedure Code, Provider Name, an A J Code, and whether it was considered a therapeutic injection. No one was able to provide me with this information. Sometime after June 6, 2023, I received a bill from Express Scripts for $1,563.32. After countless communication between myself and Express Scripts, The Portland Clinic, and Regence, Express Scripts found me not at fault for the amount owed on July 31, 2023: saying that the employee I spoke with should not have said that the amount due could be adjusted after it was shipped, because once it is shipped, an invoice is created, the claim was sent to the insurance company, so the amount quoted to me would be my copay and I would be responsible, but failed to let me know, only continued to send me bills and ask for payment every time I called. As of September 8, 2023 I cannot get a turnaround time for when the amount will be charged off, and I keep receiving bills in the mail.

Stopped carrying my meds
I have had an ongoing Rx through express scripts for over 20 years when suddenly they stop carrying it. They say it is a short term med and they need to carry meds that are for everyday use...Really? 4 times a day for over 20 years and suddenly I can't get it. Another med I needed they will not carry because it has limited uses. They used to be a good place to deal with, and living 50 miles from the nearest military base very convenient. However, if I can't get my pain meds or my complete list of meds from them why use them at all? Some of what they now charge me 12 bucks for I can get for 3 bucks at the pharmacy. Since they are no longer convenient it may be time to swap...
Don't trust them with a prescription
It tskes them forever to send prescriptions. If something is out of stock they force you to keep calling back to check if it is in rather than sending it when available. They are completely incompetent and don't seemto understand the nature of their business
Rip off with incompetent and impotent customer service department
If you are ever considering using Express Scripts, think twice. They suddenly charged my card a large unauthorized amount of money. When I contacted them, over the course of several hours of being on hold, hung up on, and transferred around from one incompetent person to another, I was given numerous different bull excuses for the charges.
In the end, they simply insisted I had authorized the charges. When I asked for proof, they told me no - that if I wanted proof I need to get a court order.
Prior to that experience, they randomly canceled a prescription I had been on for years. I had to spend hours dealing with their robotic system and impotent employees to even find out that they didn't actually know why this happened. Eventually I had to get my doctor to call it in again, at which point they more than doubled the price of the medicine.
I have also been without medication for weeks at a time because it takes so long for them to process and ship orders.
Truly horrible company. Give your money to someone else.
Denial of Coverage Is Their Business Model
Like all benefits administrators the company makes money from denying you coverage, not from keeping you healthy. But they are more aggressive than most. Their bet is you will give up, so they can make more money. Next time I am offered a job, I will seriously consider declining the offer if they use this awful company.
Poor outcome
So confusing trying to get meds for type 2 diabetes given initial difficulty to speak to a person then told there is a 'preferred 'med no clear notice if their preffered med would even be compatible for patient ended up going w pharmacy we use and picked up same day. What a run around!

I would tell people not to use express scripts mail pharmacy. This pharmacy wasn't very good with filling and shipping orders before Cigna bought them and they have gone downhill since. They use dhl ecommerce to move shipped prescriptions from the pharmacy to USPS. No clue why, but when you try to track a shipment dhl says they have transferred to USPS and USPS says it's still at dhl.
I submitted a prescription order on 7-13, exp scpts says it shipped on 7-21. Why 7 days to ship a very common medications. On 7-24, USPS still says it hasn't received the package. This same thing happened last time I ordered and Exp Scpts ended up having to reship. These people have no idea what they are doing. I'm going to ask my doctor to change my prescriptions to Walmart. Done with these people, they are terrible. Oh and if you call, good luck, they never acknowledge they mess up and just try to talk around it instead of effecting a solution. They are terrible. Don't use them.

Itâs downright irresponsible for any company to use these clowns for their employeesâ prescription needs. You either wait forever to have necessary life sustaining medications sent or you get price gouged at the pharmacy.
Iâm type 1 diabetic and have had my insulin orders delayed or just not sent. Itâs irresponsible for the government to allow this useless company to be responsible for peopleâs medications.
SLOWEST PROCESSING TIME 11+ DAYS.
CRITICAL glaucoma eye drops LATANAPROST, to prevent blindness quantity shorted by 33 days each 3 month Rx period for years. CVS PHARMACY fills the entire 3 month period. SLOWEST PROCESSING TIME. 8/9/23. Eye med electronically sent in for infection and time sensitive, prednisolone drops. Express took more than 11 days to process it. I'm still waiting. Infection worsens. As of 6 July no eye medication. 92549. Criminally negligent.

This place is frustrating
This place is frustrating! I was told by the customer service that I will get my medication deliver without constantly calling them to remind them I needed my medication. I waited and waited until I had two tablets left. When I called the 1-800 number they ordered my prescription it will take June 28th delivery.
I asked for same day or 2nd day delivery but they didnât do that. I was told the order will be delivered on 23 rd or 24th of June. I had to get emergency supply from my doctor. He called to Walgreen but the prescription was going to be ready 6th of August.
I called back to see any more loop holes I have to go through. I needed an override telephone number to get my emergency supply from Walgreen.
I wrote a compliant letter to customer service and I did get a reply back within two days. No one day or 2nd day delivery but she found a Walgreen pharmacy who had my medication. I would get my order in 7 to 10 days. It was shipped off 21 st of June. I was able to get my emergency supply from Walgreen finally.
It appears the left hand doesnât know what the right hand is doing. Your dealing with joined to the hip government agency and they donât care.
I had to break up 2 tablets to make four doses. If I donât have the medication I will go into terrible withdraws. It appears Express Script doesnât care your health is in jeopardy. Their too big to care about your needs. I would even pay for same day or 2nd day delivery.
I decided to use a civilian pharmacy from now on. They seem more organized to serve the customer needs.

Express? Heh. That's funny. They send a list of meds they carry, your doc calls in a generic med. ES calls and says they don't have that med, would you like the brandname version? Suddenly, your co-pay goes from $5 to $50. 5 days after your Rx is called in, you check to see why you still haven't received it. It's in processing (what's the name of the company, again? Slo-Mo Scripts?). You call and say you need the Rx your doc called in 5 days ago. They say they'll expedite it for $20. You agree. Next day, still processing. You call and ask WTH?!? They say that expedited shipping doesn't expedite processing. That still takes 7 to 10 days. And if you need your meds ASAP, ask your doc to call the pharmacy so you can get a 30 days supply. That will cost $25. Just skip this place. Go to CVS or Walgreens. Pay them the $10 to deliver to you if you can't drive. Express (heh) Scripts is a scam.
They let prescription expire
Doctor sent prescription. I asked them to fill it on their web site. They said I needed to phone them and give permission for them to fill it. I did, and their agent said I'd receive it in about a week (which would have been fine). Instead, they farted around doing nothing for a week, then they said they were filling it, followed a few minutes later by telling me the prescription was now too old and I'd have to get my doctor to re-send it.
I've seen competence. This isn't it.
Horrible
This has to be the most inept and unqualified team of people working for ES. Customers, watch every penny from your CC if you have it linked. In fact, donât link at debit or CC to them. File a complaint with the District Attorney in the state they are in. Somebody pleas do something about them!!!!
Terrible performance
CONTINUALLY lose faxes and ask for re-sends, often more than once. Often do not reply to status update requests with information requested. Never apologize/take responsibility for errors made; make excuses instead. Can take VERY long times to send reimbursements, requiring time consuming follow-ups and information repeats: are they hoping I'll forget? Almost seems intentional given the many instances. Or else hugely negligent.
