I recently discovered Filson as Iâm a true fan of Quality American made work wear. I placed an order and purchased a flannel shirt. Pricey! Just like many others here, Filson will not return or exchange. If you call their customer service line, youâll get a recorded message saying theyâre too busy to help you. I will never buy another thing from Filson.

Worst customer service, do not order anything from them unless you are 100% confident you are going to keep the product. They make you contact customer service for a refund and no one responds to emails and when you call it says 15 people are in the queue and disconnects you.
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service! I ordered Sheep skin gloves for my husband well before Christmas. They arrived but were it bit to small. They had originally arrived in a nice gift box. But when I shipped them back for a bigger sized I never heard that the company had actually received them, so for weeks I was concerned that they had been lost in the mail or???
I left several emailed to have a generic email respond back that they would get back to me in 48 hours but never did.
I did finally receive the new gloves in a bigger size but the wrong color and not in a gift box like the last time.
I have since left more emails and tried calling this morning but a generic voicemail said there was 15 people in the que and to call back later, then just hung up on me.
After reading these other complaints maybe I'll just keep them in the wrong color and never order from them again!!

The worst customer service in the world
I ordered two beautiful lined wool packer coats at $1K each in size xxxl on 11/29. However the coats were just too big for me. I usually order a size up to make sure coats will not be too small. Returned coats same day with UPS return label that was provided. Filson received both coats on 12/12. They relisted them on their website and both sold within 24 hours. I am still fighting Filson to get my $2k refund. I called customer service multiple times but get cut off as they say there are too many people in front of me. Actually I think they purposely do not answer calls because customers are furious and they do not want to deal with them.
Woeful Customer Service
I have owned a Filson Ballistic Duffle bag for 18 months. It is indeed a fantastic bag. But two straps have snapped, which is shocking for a £300 bag. I was asked to fill in a repair form, and it has taken four weeks for their customer service to simply look at the form and requested photos. They still have not done that. And now they are closed until Mid-January. It's awful customer service and no matter how good their bags are, I will never buy another one based on the way they deal with issues such as this. They are in contravention of the UK Consumer Rights Act, and they intend to stone wall until they eventually get around to doing what is right. Which they may never do.

I wouldn't buy from Filson. Purchased a jacket at MSRP, didn't fit, so I wanted to return it. Looked for information in the package about how to return, there was nothing, so I went to the website. The website said that to file a return, just use the return slip in the package. Of course, there wasn't one. So I sent an email asking for one. I got on auto-reply saying they'd address my issues in 2-3 business days. A week passed. Nothing. So I called. The customer service line gave me various recorded messages about "your call is important to us, etc." then hung up on me. Over and over again. Sent another email. Nothing. Called again next day, finally got someone on the line after holding for 45 min. Told lady what happened, she said she'd email me a return slip in 2-3 business days. I explained I'd been trying to file a return for over 10 days now, and Filson was batting 0 for 3. She said, "Sorry, nothing I can do. I'll email you a return slip in 2-3 business days." I asked, "How am I to believe you?" She said, "It's the only choice you have." Touche. Filson sucks.

Anything that Taylor Sheridan is hawking on Yellowstone is a huge money grab. Previous complaints echo the same issues I have right now. No response on three emails, status of back order, no customer service manning the phones. Just piss poor after sale support. You can't look up orders, you get re-directed to shop and that's it. Awful. As were his 6666 steaks. Got a strip steak the size of a breakfast steak. Two for 100.00 and a thermal bad as a gift. :-(

If I could give ZERO rating I would! I returned an item to Filson using a prepaid UPS return label just days after I received the item. Two emails to customer service have been ignored. Also seem to be âcaller # 15 on holdâ to speak to a rep. 3xâs now. UPS tracking has shown item was received by them over 6 weeks ago. NO REFUND yet to be issued. Iâm disputing the charge w/my credit card company. A call to an actual storefront led an employee to tell me that theyâve been receiving numerous complaints re:customer service. âThey recently had a warehouse sale and are understaffed right now.â AVOID them. Sizing charts were waaaaayyyy off too.
Once great company, being run into the ground
First...Filson is NOT a pacific northwest company since 2012...they are owned by a conglomerate from Texas. Second...Filson is NOT a US made or sourced product any longer. 99% of their items are made in Asian sweatshops...all use cheap again materials.
Their sizing has always been super wacky...but since the move to overseas contract MFG, they are a disaster. Measurements provided for items are off (randomly) by a full size (1+ inch) or more.
As everyone else has said...their customer care (returns, exchanges, warranty) are literally the worst in any business.
If you purchase off their website...stores are FORBIDEN from helping you.
Called the Seattle flagship store last week...employee said they are getting dozens of calls every day from screwed over customers...but he was not allowed to help.
He said corp. usually takes 'a few weeks' to respond if they do at all. He kept apologizing, agreed that the company was circling the drain...but he could do nothing (if he wanted to keep his job).
Corporate regularly turn off their phones and e-mail...so you are screwed with even trying to get help directly.
Filson is a perfect example of great companies sold to crappy owners who's only interest is to ride the prior reputation into the ground, screwing every customer over, every way possible for corp. Profits.
Buy from Filson and YOU are a sucker who just got scammed!
Filson Mesh fishing vest
Started fly fishing 3 years ago and could hardly wait to buy Filson products. The Filson Tin packers hat is amazing but the mesh strap vest isn't worth the $210 US, which landed being shy of 400 Cnd. First off the very disappointed that they sourced it to Vietnam, cheap cheap cheap, not well made. They may as well not sell this item. The strap buckles are a soft plastic vs the original metal. The storage pockets are not as large as advertised. Filson prides themselves on being American made and that's why I bought it, but not the case with the fishing vest.

Canât believe I waited this long to get a Filson tin cloth short lined cruiser. Worth every penny. Followed the sizing guide, ordered a large, fits perfectly (Iâm 6â0â, 205. Normally wear XL). Great quality. Itâs better than you think it will be! Price was steep but this jacket will easily last me 20 years!

Wouldnât honor life-time warranty on a jacket. Finally after several calls & emails & then walking into a Filson store & speaking directly to the manager was my issue resolved. They are a horrible company to deal with & attempt to intimidate the customer at first level of contact when wanting to make a return. Be persistent & last resort dispute purchase with credit card. Never pay cash or use debit card at Filson as there usually is no recourse.

I bought the journeyman on a trip to DC at one of their stores. I wore it one time. ONE TIME. I tried to return it immediately after because the straps did not fit comfortably for long-term wear. I'm a woman, I have no idea if that is part of the issue but the bag sags even when the straps are at their tightest and it's uncomfortable. I told Filson that I had worn the item. I was very clear about the situation. I sent the bag back. They sent it back to me saying it was not saleable because it was worn. Yeah I told them that. I contacted customer service again because I can't believe that a $500 bag isn't returnable after 1 use. I was denied again. They say it's their 'policy'. What kinda policy is that? They don't care at all about customer satisfaction. So yes I have a very expensive, cool looking, uncomfortable bag that I can't travel with as planned. I will never spend money with them again.

Poor customer service. I own tons of Filson gear. Never needed the warranty service but when I did it was a huge disappointment. Quality going down on both gear and service.

Filsonâs âLifetime warrantyâ isnât really lifetime. Itâs âlifetimeâ only for the length of time that they deem it should last. Period.
I am disappointed and must leave a negative review. My belt I assure you was cared for properly, along with my boots. I am fully aware of the care it needed and it received. A company as large as Filson should not be advertising its products as âlifetimeâ when the reality is quite different. They offered me a 25% discount. They can keep the discount, why would I invest in a product that is clearly inferior and a company that doesnât stand behind its warranty-Lifetime?

Warranty Repair on 35-year Old Jacket
My 35 year old tin cloth jacket lost a button due to normal use. The fabric is so thick, no one will work on it. After a couple of years of not using it, I realized there was a Lifetime Warranty on the jacket. So I filled out the forms on the Filson website, followed their instructions and, voila, I have a repaired jacket. Not only did they attach the missing button, they also reinforced another one that was starting to come off and they treated the fabric to some new wax. It took about a month from the time I sent it in to the time I got it back. They met the commitments outlined in their process. I received the jacket back today and I can't wait to wear it. Nice job Filson!
