Fraudulent Returns Department
I recently purchased a large order from Filson and returned most of the order due to fit/quality issues. However, I only received a partial return. At first, they claimed they didn't receive half of the items on their end. Alarmed, I filed a claim with UPS and PayPal, suspecting that part of the package was stolen.
After filing the claim, customer service informed me that they had "found" the items but had an "underlying smell" and would not be processing the return. This is deeply suspicious because I only had the clothes for an hour before returning. I have never had such a poor experience ordering/returning an item online. I am out $1,500 due to this.
I would not recommend ordering anything from Filson.com under any circumstance. This is, by far, the worst experience I have had shopping online in over a decade.

Filson Are Great
I've used Filson Europe quite a few times now over the years and felt I should leave a review. My experience with them has been great. Items are delivered to the UK in 2 to 3 days which is super fast compared to the time it used to take (just over a week). Sadly, the last item was too small, that's the risk you take when ordering online and Filson know this which is why their returns is super easy and smooth. They paid the refund without any problems. I love their products but I would advise on getting as much information on sizing as you can if you have any worries. Filson in my experience can be trusted and make fantastic clothing you'll love.

Purchased several items around the Holidays for ourselves and gifts. We purchase fine quality products from reputable companyâs that stand behind their products, Unfortunately this isnât one of them.
We received the moorcroft womenâs coat in an XS tried it on and it was too small we processed a request to return with a few other items and an exchange for a S in the jacket.
Our experience from this point on has been even more disappointing.
Receiving a response from customer service with back and forth emails and phone calls.
After no response, yesterday we received our original jacket back not the S as requested with a letter accusing us of using Febreeze on the jacket and that it was used and not in sellable condition.
It was taken out of its original packaging to be tried on and sent back with tags attached. We donât use Febreeze and to be accused I am completely appalled.
Is this the way a reputable company handles exchanges by accusing the customer so they can deny the return/exchange. This is a waxed coat with a moleskin collar and due to the proofing has an odor associated with it.
To be accused of using a product I donât even own is despicable furthermore what happened to customer service?
I Reached out and explained the situation and had another poor experience with 2 customer service agents and asked to speak to a manger, still waitingâŠ. I sent an email and received a response that the decision was final on our return.
This item also went on sale for Half price right after we purchased it and we asked for the credit not even money back and the company said it wasnât eligible even after we sent the guidelines they have listed on their website.

Arrogant, slow, tone-deaf customer service for over-priced, dysfunctional products
I bought their $300 waterproof jacket (Swiftwater) a few weeks ago. In a recent rain shower, I took it to walk the dog. I arrived home soaking.
I emailed Filson customer service, assuming such a famous brand would stand by their products, given the very high price.
It took 3 emails and 4 weeks for someone to even respond. When they did, they said this:
"The Swiftwater jacket was designed to be an âemergencyâ rain jacket. It was not meant to be worn for extended periods of time but rather you wear it for a passing rain shower while fishing or hunting. It is not a faulty item."
However, their own product page describes the item as:
"our Swiftwater Rain Jacket is engineered for active use that requires lightweight, waterproof protection...
Though light in weight, the Swiftwater is fully seam-sealed to provide heavy-duty protection from the wettest of weather

I bought a packer hat in 1993. The inside liner needs replaced. Tried to use their repair request form. Everytime I hit the submit button, nothing. Sent pics and instructions to customer service 3 times. All I got was" you need to submit the form." I wish I never bought this hat even though it's been my go to hat for almost 30 years.

Their 'we stand behind our products' schtick is just worthless drivel. I bought one of their Alaskan Guide (made in Singapore not USA incidentally) flannel shirts for £160. It was horrible, stiff as cardboard. £160? I've bought far better at Uniqlo for £25! They charged me £25 to ship it and £25 to return it. To add insult to injury in their own customs return form the value was shown as â¬43.47 (£37.31). Go figure that one out! What the heck was £160 all about then?
I would sooner walk around bare-chested in the cold than wear one of their crappy, cheapo shirts. I will never deal with this lot of shishters again. Avoid like the plague.

Filson's warranty is a hoax
Filson's warranty is a hoax. I received a Filson watch as a gift. Looks cool, but is poorly made and broke after a couple of months. Sent it in for warranty service. Despite the "repair or replace" warranty they acknowledge applies, they won't fix it because they got out of the watch business and don't have the parts or tools to fix it. They offered me a gift card worth only a small fraction of what the watch cost, and refused to return the broken watch (which has sentimental value) if I accepted the gift card. What a sleazy operation. They make it hard to continue buying American. Junk product. Horrible customer service. Stay away from Filson. Considering legal claim against them on the warranty. Get in touch if you had a similar experience.

Selling a Look, but Not Selling Quality
Filson: Your customer service and warranty/repair policies are shockingly abysmal. I assure you I will never order from you again.
I have a lightweight jacket (the "Men's Ultralight Jacket" specifically) and the zipper gave out after less that two seasons of wear. It was for urban use, essentially getting me to and from business meetings. The stress on the zipper was minimal to nonexistent. After jumping through the hoops of submitting for a repair evaluation, mailing the package and waiting several weeks, the jacket was returned to me saying essentially there was nothing you could do and that the zipper was my problem. I followed up with a call to your customer Service and voiced my confusion and displeasure. I was assured the case would be looked at again and someone would be in touch. So far, this hasn't happened.
You sell a particular look and the idea of a certain lifestyle, but sadly your clothes and company do not walk the walk; It's pretty sad that for all of the robust, bearded, great outdoors images you hang your reputation on, your zippers evidently can't last long enough to get a costume designer to a theatre meeting in mid-town Manhattan.
Additionally, I told a local distributor about my issue, and they likewise supported my claim, informing me that these zippers have been a problem.
It speaks volumes that your company not only disregarded or attempted to dance around the given warranty, but also did not have the decency to follow up with my call. There are too many other companies out there marketing what you market, and I bet their zippers work just fine. In fact, now that I think of it, I don't think I've *ever* had a broken zipper on anything I've owned -- and certainly never on a premium-priced product that is purportedly build to last. I'm sad to learn that you don't live up to reputation and embarrassed that this is the best you can do. I'll be moving on to better, more trustworthy brands.

Filson sent me the wrong sized shirt and refuses to do anything about it! Never mind the fact that they suckered me into buying a $10 polo shirt at a $100 price!

Filson uplander boots.
This review relates to a pair of Filson uplander boots purchased in the USA over the Internet.
I won't go into details but suffice to say in this particular case the quality of the both boots was compromised.
But I can only speak as I find and the help from customer services in Holland was second to none, very patient and understanding in particular one lady Anastasia Kuts.
Once all the relevant documents were sent as proof of purchase and shipping documents had been received a total refund transaction took place with no hiccups or hurdles put in the way.

They are priced at £125 but I got them for £50.
They claim to be the glove you can do anything and go anywhere with.
So far the have stretch do not keep my hands remotely warm.After wearing a few times they bobbled and yeah and if it rains they get soaked within minutes!
Was thinking about returning them but since I read the reviews I wonât bother.
