There wasn't much on there that couldn't be found in other places, although one of the points of a website like this is that not everybody knows where to go or has the time to go searching, so it does serve a particular market. For these people, it could be worthwhile. My main issue was that I wasn't impressed by their cancellation procedure but in the end they made good on a refund, which was appreciated.

Doing some research on the liverpool Naval Memorial and Ian Blackadder appears to have been the only casualty on this vessel, but cannot find out how he died

My grandad fought in both wars and I have been able to find battles he fought in, medals he was entitled to wear along with more detailed information and maps. I have found so much out about what he did for his country.
All in all I have found this site to be a very useful resource.

Good search have found records from both sides of my family.

when it comes up with searches for you and they are not relevant to you, you can't get rid of them on the list. Doesn't show that you have looked at them either, so you tend to look at the same ones, which is frustrating

I was struggling on other sites that just wanted to throw American soldiers up which made it harder, but this site doesn't do that it's easy to use has all the information you need and you can save them for future reference and all for a great price. This is my go to research site for all wars. I like the information it gives you on what the soldiers did in that Regiment and why they were in the places they needed to be. Just a great site for a great price.untill you sold it to ancestry now it's difficult to use and they've merged it with 3fold

Quite often, this is the place I come to find more and detailed info about war records outside WW1 andWW2. The info about various historical events has led to greater understanding and developed research into new areas. Thank you.

Lots of good information available that has helped me find interesting information about my family and ancestors that I otherwise wouldn't have been able to find.

This is a great resource for the more obscure aspects of military history. I use it a fair bit and find it well worth being a member.

Finding my great uncle, James Smith Forbes. His mother died when he was 7 and he went to live with his grandparents who died when he was 12. He then left to live with a distant relative in North Wales. When 18 he joined the Army and died in France. That is all we knew. As my grandmother never knew him as she was only a newborn when my her mother died. We found his regiments which lead to his grave in France, which led to the battle reports, which lead to newspaper clippings, which lead to finding where in Wales he stayed. His story unfolds. Sad but inspiring. Familes are forever.

It is a good site to use -easy and clear for someone not well versed in technology !
I was pleased to find extra information on my grandfather in WW 2 and a little information on a soldier whom I think is my 3 x great grandfather in the 1850's . More research with the Forces War Records will required at some point
