Very pleased with my purchase

Very pleased that I came across Freesat Spares. My freesat box stopped working, I purchased a new one from Argos and then came across freesat spares, once I realised that the hard drive had failed I purchased one (actually purchased a bigger one) connected it up and it was working, saved £180! Very pleased

Freesat box repaired

Several months since we had our Freesat box repaired and it is working well. Went for a slightly more expensive disk option and very pleased with performance. I recall it took about a week from sending to receiving it back so I am a satisfied customer.

Had a tuning problem with a Panasonic…

Had a tuning problem with a Panasonic DMR-BS750 where the picture pixelated badly on ITV4HD. Sent my unit to Freesat Spares who very quickly identified a software problem and said they could fix it with a workaround as Panasonic hadn't updated the software since 2011. The workaround was done and the unit works fine, even told me how I could revert to previous setting if needed. Charged me 1 hours labour - great service

Don't bin it - have it repaired

Freesat boxes have always been unreliable - the hard drive always going faulty within 2 years and had become a "throw away" item for me - not cheap either.
My last one went faulty as per usual - I then found Freesat Spares online and it was worth spending £5 to send it to them to assess the damage. Repair or bin.
Got a rapid assessment from them and and opted for a Solid State Hard Drive to replace the old mechanical one for £85 - far cheaper than buying new box. Box was returned repaired within a week and now works fine - A No Brainer. Highly recommended.

I had no picture from my Freesat box

I had no picture from my Freesat box. I knew it was working as the App showed all OK. I contacted Freesat Spares and they suggested it could probably be fixed so I sent it in using their postal repair process (You pay a fee for inspection, if it can be fixed they let you know), it was fixed and returned - happy days!
However, the box started emitting a whistling sound so after further communication it was returned. The suggestion was it was the power block and a new one was supplied. This appears to have worked.
I was impressed with the follow up which was handled professionally and promptly. I would commend Freesat Spares.

We have had a 4K 1000gig Freesat…

We have had a 4K 1000gig Freesat recording box for approx 2 years without any problems.
We also use a non smart TV therefore the recording box connects us to the various streaming apps.
So as long as the Freesat be system is available we are hopeful of continuous service

Really happy with the service and…

Really happy with the service and support from the Team. I sent through a a few emails requiring support around the installation of my Arris Freesat UHD-4X Smart 4K Ultra HD Digital TV Recorder. I tried for a couple of hours to install following YouTube guides and the blogs and forums. In the end I sent an email to support expecting a response next day at 9am. Within the hour, out-of-hours one of the support team responded. Provided a several helpful tips. But the best tip that came through in the morning. It was similar to the steps I took that brought the box online overnight.

Use this if you have any issues - If you have purchased a new Freesat 4k box and you are not receiving a signal, you may need to update the software on your device to the latest version to restore your signal. (Software version v1.5.0-1 or later.) You may have lost your signal due to changes made by local broadcasters in the way they broadcast their channels. These changes affect customers who have a satellite dish using a wideband LNB. Freesat 4K Boxes receive software updates and install them automatically whilst on standby. You can update your software by carrying out the following simple steps: 1. Check that both your satellite cables are connected to the box. (RF IN 1 & RF IN 2) 1. Ensure your box is plugged in and keep the power supply connected to the box. 1. Leave the box switched on for 30 minutes. 1. After 30 minutes press the standby button on the remote control or the box to set the box to standby mode. Please do not remove the power supply from the box. 1. Wait 10 seconds and press the standby button again to switch on your device. The box may show a loading screen. Wait for this to finish and then complete the on-screen instructions to set up the box. 1. If after the setup of your device regional channels are not available such as BBC One on 101 and ITV/STV/UTV on 103, go to “Home” on your remote control then select “settings”. From “settings” select “Freesat channels” and then “Begin channel scan”. Follow the on-screen instructions entering your postcode when requested to restore your local channels.
