The car and welcome in the office was OK but we waited one hour for the shuttle to come and pick us at the airport.
Par empezar ya tuve qué esperar más de media hora en el aeropuerto, alquilé un coche de 7 plazas por mediación de cart jet, ya hiciera un seguro por 55 euros, pero al llegar allí tenía que hacer uno con ellos de 167 euros para no dejar la franquicia de 2500 euros y aparte pagar 12'50 para lavado del coche, después resulta qué la tarjeta al entroducirla en el TPV no la leía, pero si la pasabas por el lector del TPV si la leía pero para ellos no le valía, de hecho pagué con ella todas las vacaciones y no me dejaron alquilar el coche.

Los servicios de recogida y traslado el aeropuerto son buenos y tienen capacidad de mejora.
El servicio es muy personalizado y rápido
Buenos precios aunque las condiciones de los seguros si los quieres contratar son altas

Onze vlucht was 12 uur vertraagd waardoor we onze auto niet 's ochtends op konden halen. Hierover was contact geweest en het koste ons 35.- vanwege het late ophalen van de auto. Bij het ophalen 's avonds van de auto wilde ze ons naast de afgesproken 35.- ook nog eens 133.- laten betalen omdat we de auto 12 uur later ophaalde met als reden dat de huurovereenkomst vervalt als je niet binnen 2 uur van de oorspronkelijk afgesproken tijd je de auto ophaalt. Bijzonder als de volledige huursom al betaald is en er 35.- is afgesproken voor het later ophalen. Daarnaast werd ons ook gevraagd om 12.50 te betalen voor schoonmaakkosten. Na contact met Sunnycars verviel de 133.- en de 12.50 konden we bij inleveren betalen iets wat uiteindelijk ook niet betaald hoefde te worden.

Friendly employee at the location. Everything was explained transparently and small scratches on the car documented by picture. The car had almost 19000 km and was free of defects except for small scratches. The return was quick and the deposit blocked by credit card was quickly released again.
I would rent a car here again.

Ich bin sehr enttäuscht von dieser Autovermietung.
Da wir einen Tag später als geplant gelandet sind, mussten wir trotz bereits bestehender Buchung ein Upgrade in Höhe von 133 € bezahlen. Das Fahrzeug war jedoch schon im Voraus reserviert, weshalb ich diese Zusatzkosten als nicht gerechtfertigt empfinde.
Bei der Rückgabe kam es dann zu einem weiteren Ärgernis: Man wollte uns einen angeblichen Schaden von der Kaution abziehen, den wir nicht verursacht hatten. Zum Glück hatte ich bei der Abholung zahlreiche Fotos gemacht und konnte somit eindeutig nachweisen, dass die Beschuldigung unbegründet war.
Ein solcher Umgang mit Kunden ist für mich absolut inakzeptabel. Dieser Kontakt mit der Autovermietung war definitiv mein letzter.

Günstiger Preis, Übernahme und Rückgabe des Autos hat schnell und unkompliziert funktioniert auch der Flughafentransfer war sehr okay.

1.Nowhere in our communication you told me where the car is parked. You sent me very nice video with the way to arrive at the car in the parking, but never told me where is the parking.
I had in the docs from the broker the info that a shuttle bus will arrive and drive us to the parking. No shuttle bus came even we waited one our in the middle of the night and you knew the time my plane lands.
I took an uber to the address in Santa Cruz I found to Funchaldrive parking, but no one was there. Closed. I took an Uber back and that driver, luckily, recognized the place where the car is, in the airport.
But no one from you told us where the parking is, just how to pay the parking, supposing I have dreamt about the place.
All this at 01 oçlock am, after we have waited the shuttle bus. I've paid 22€ with taxi and another and 15€ for parking!!
This did made you not profitable for me.
Your attitude is not professional.
I asked you all the instruction before.
2. I have told you colleague that the car you rented to me has problems with the direction and I am not feeling safety. She told me to bring the car from Caletha, where I was, to your place, Santa Cruz or Funchal. I said, "I 'am sorry, I paid in advance for a usable car, I am in vacation, you came to my place to change it, because you didn't respect your part of contract, not me. I don't have time to loose for your mistake.'' And, another colleague of yours, I think, Fabio, the agent that rented the car, very aggressive, replied to me that If I have problems, to come to your place and you will check and decide if is necessary to change it or not.
I decided to continue my vacation controlling the risk, but the car still has some malfunctions you should check before rent it to me or another Client. I write Client like this, for you to understand, maybe.
I gave one star because I do not have the opportunity to give zero star.
And this will be my review every where I can write it on.
I've rented cars in many countries all over the world, but same unprofessional attitude, I never met.
I am thinking to claim to Portuguese Authorities this situation.

The time for receiving a car is to long even after digital registration. The opening hours should be longer , for shore in the morning. The rest was ok.

Things to improve: 1/ Reduce the waiting time to take the véhicule in Santa Cruz office ( waiting for the shuttle + waiting for the admin ) , for us 1hour and half.
2/ Suggest to rent power car ´cause in Madeira roads are rude and climbs incredibles ( more than 20% for many times )

Agence a fuir, ils ont refusé ma carte de crédit sous prétexte qu'il y avait les 2 mentions crédit debit ( alors qu'il s'agit bien d'une carte de crédit, la banque me l'a ensuite confirmé). Ils ont voulu me faire payer 280 € supplémentaires pour une assurance que j'avais déjà
De plus si vous avez un problème d'embrayage ou de boîte de vitesse sur l'île, c'est à votre charge, ce qui est scandaleux.
Au total j'ai refusé de prendre le véhicule et j'attends toujours le remboursement.

Prima auto voor een goed prijs.
We moesten bij aankomst wel een half uurwachten op de Shuttledienst van het vliegveld naar de autoverhuur. Op de terugweg ging dit wel prima. We werden direct gebracht. Auto gehuurd via Sunny cars. Dit ging verder allemaal prima. Bij het brengen van de auto kon in de sleutels afgeven en dat was het.

We rented a car with full insurance from Discover Cars but nonetheless Funchal Drive tried to sell us an unneccessary very expensive (over € 600 for 17 days) extra insurance. The contract between Discover Cars and Funchal Drive is not okay. The car was okay. Fast transfer by minibus to the airport. Unexpected extra € 12 for cleaning the car is not okay! A clean car is the responsibility of the company. Funchal Drive told me that the insurance they offered was for another cover. Nonsens, according to Discover Cars.

Very long process to receive the car. In addition to the desk being far from the airport and requiring an additional transfer, at the desk (without questioning the friendliness of the staff), each customer took a very long time to conclude the check-in, and we had to provide again all the information we had already submitted online. In recent years, we have never waited this long. With only one person ahead of us, it took more than 30 minutes to receive the car.
Another unprecedented factor for us was having to return the car clean inside and out, or alternatively pay a cleaning fee (€12.50). The car was very weak and had many scratches. The other cars available also appeared to be of very poor quality. I do not recommend it. The only positive point I can highlight is the friendliness of the staff.

Good experience overall. We opted for full insurance for peace of mind, and everything went smoothly. The car was in good condition. The only surprise was the cleaning fee—it's the first time I've encountered this with a rental. Other than that, everything was okay.
