Can’t fault them!

10/10 service from start to finish. As soon as we arrived at the airport, we were greeted by the loveliest shuttle bus driver who was so welcoming and accommodating, which set a great first impression.

At the office, everything was handled quickly and efficiently. The car itself was excellent, and we really appreciated how thorough they were with documenting its condition. We were given a detailed list of all existing marks and scratches, making it easy to check the vehicle on collection and giving us complete peace of mind.

When returning the car, the process was just as smooth. We were actually running slightly late for our flight, and the gentleman who assisted us kindly took us straight to the airport so we didn’t have to wait for the shuttle which was such a thoughtful touch.

We’ll definitely be returning to Madeira soon and will 100% be using RentX again!

A l arrivée un représentant à disposition vous explique très bien la prise en main. Très simple et rapide. La voiture était très propre adaptée à l ile ( pentes etc.)

Excellent experience! I rented a car for 5 days, pick up from the airport and drop off at the hotel. The people were very friendly, the price was excellent, and the car was exactly what I needed (Citroen C3 Aircross). I highly recommend the company!

J'ai réservé sur internet une Audi A1 automatique pour 9 jours et fait l'enregistrement en ligne. Toutes ces démarches sont simples et rapides. A l'aéroport de Funchal la navette nous a conduit à Machico, proche de l'aéroport, pour nous remettre la voiture, une Citroën C3 automatique confortable et bien adaptée aux routes de Madère. Le retour du véhicule s'est fait très simplement et rapidement à Machico.
Le personnel de RentX Madère est aimable et professionnel. Nous recommandons cette société d'un bon rapport qualité/prix.

I booked airport pick-up and return in Madeira with full insurance, choosing an automatic (Audi A1 or similar). I received an automatic Citroën C3.
One day before, the company sent a WhatsApp message offering online check-in. I submitted my driver’s license, passport, and flight details. The same day, I received all instructions and a contact number on mail.
On arrival, I called them( you can do it via WhatsApp) , and they said a van would come in a few minutes — we waited about 20 minutes. They transferred us to Machico (nearby town).
Thanks to online check-in, the process was quick. I paid in cash, and the car was ready outside.
Return was also fast — they checked the full tank, and we were transferred back to the airport.
Friendly, smiling staff. Very smooth experience. Highly recommend!

Zamiast oferowanego Citroen C3 Aircros 110-130HP otrzymałem dacia sandero stepway. Jeszcze oznajmiono, że to samochód tej samej klasy. Sandero jest tak słabe, że nie mogło podjechać pod kilka podjazdów. Nie ma nawigacji, nie ma apple car play. Brak komfortu. To nie jest samochód na urlop tylko za karę. Za samochód lepszy od dacia, porównyalny do C3 Aircross kazano dopłacić 200 euro.

It was a super smooth experience. We rented a car in Madeira, Portugal. From start to finish, they were very professional and understanding. There was something wrong with the wheel mechanism with the initial car they gave us, once I called them, they changed the car IN ONE HOUR. I called them, a mechanic came over, exchanged the cars, that's it, they even gave us a much better one. All in all, great experience, will definitely be using their services in the future.

Fantastic company to rent cars in Madeira. The process online is easy and fast.
We rented to pick up and drop off our car from Rentx Funchal. Rodney was very kind and provided excellent service, he even was able to cater for a specific need we had.
Car was also wonderful, new, great horse power for the stiff mountains and great size for the parkings.

Der bisher beste Fahrzeugverleiher den ich auf meinen vielen Reisen genutzt habe. In time Abholung am Flughafen. Sehr rasche und unkomplizierte Übergabe des Fahrzeuges. Extrem freundliches Personal. Keine unerwarteten Zusatzkosten. Das Gleiche bei der Rückgabe!!! Einfach Top!

I’m modifying my previous attribution of 2* in this review (details below) to 5*.

The management has responded professionally and in a timely manner to my complaint. They apologized for the situation, refunded the 30€ and explained that Mr Vitor would be reprimanded.

I decided to change the star rating because it seems unfair that the whole company would have to bear the consequences of one man’s mistakes. RentX proved they care about their clients as I received kind messages and the refund despite having left a negative review.

Leaving a two star review due to bad service received upon checkout. The reservation process and communication via WhastApp were convenient. The car Citroen 3 was a standard and fine. At reservation and check in we communicated our flight number and departure time. The lady that received us asked that we arrive 2 hours before our flight which was departing at 9:40 am. We agreed therefore on arrival at about 7:30 which I confirmed by WhatsApp. Upon arrival, Mr Victor busy with a customer checking in, welcomed us in a highly unexpected and unpleasant manner “Heloooo, can I help you?!” I replied “yes, we’re here to drop off the car”. “You’re too early, you’re supposed to be here at 8:30”. Needless to say, the entire rental experience was suddenly shadowed by his surprisingly unpleasant behavior and welcome. A few explanations later, still with the same attitude he said he’d take us to the airport (5 min drive) but it’ll be 30€ because it is night hours (it was 7:43 at the time) and that it is written in the contract. When I explained no one informed us of this expensive charge and that we were asked to be there at that time AND that I sent a confirmation message the night before, still no one informed us of the “night hours”, he explained, I’m just doing my job. Conclusion it’s cheaper to take an Uber to the airport from their so called airport location or simply rent from another agency that will be more transparent and most importantly more pleasant to deal with.
Lastly, Mr Victor drove fast in the rain on curvy roads and insisted on playing music loudly in the car despite us asking him to turn off the music, luckily he did slow down though after we asked him. Regarding music, he said that this is the best radio station (and we should enjoy it).
